Perovskite solar cells(PSCs)exhibit significant development potential in the last decade due to their high efficiency and low manufacturing cost,with power conversion efficiencies(PCE)as high as 26.1％.How-ever,several problems still limit PSCs'performance and industrialization,including layer defects,energy level mismatch,and chemical *** are a promising class of two-dimensional(2D)tran-sition metal carbides and nitrides with excellent hydrophilicity,the tunable figure of merit,desirable electrical conductivity,abundant surface chemical end groups,and low-temperature solution *** properties make MXenes easy to combine with other materials and enrich their composites'physical and chemical properties,making them more useful in *** review systematically summa-rizes the relationship and development of PSCs and *** strategies for combining MXenes with various layer components in PSCs were ***,we discussed the advantages of MXenes as the hole-transporting layer,electron-transporting layer,perovskite active layer,and ***,we look forward to future research on MXene-based materials in the field of PSC and the next step of commercialization.

The influence of carbon concentration variations on pearlite formation(20 h at 600℃)in a case-carburized steel is *** resultant microstructure shows three distinct regions:carburized case,a transition region,and the original *** microstructural transition from the case to the core regions is observed to be relatively *** investigated region of the carburized case(0.9 wt.%C)con-tains two types of pearlite:ferrite+cementite and ferrite+M_(23)C_(6),where the pearlitic aggregate with M_(23)C_(6)shows faster formation *** kinetics of pearlite formation in the transition region(0.3 wt.%C)is very slow and is observed with only M_(23)C_(6)*** around 40%austenite decomposes into pearlite in the transition region,which,in comparison to the carburized case region of 0.9 wt.%C is a fraction that is lower by a factor of *** is absent in the investigated core region(0.16 wt.%C).The microstructure in this region is predominantly martensite and pro-eutectoid ferrite,with a fraction of ferrite well below the equilibrium *** formation in this region is limited by the redistribution of mainly Ni,Mn,and Cr,and their resulting solute drag effect on the austenite/ferrite interface.A ther-modynamic and kinetic argumentation of these observations is provided with the help of thermodynamic data,precipitation simulations,and a general mixed-mode Gibbs energy balance model.

Fitting real world data into a model for classification, is a challenging task. Modern approaches to classification are often resource intensive and may become bottlenecks. A microservice architecture that allows maintaining a model of real world data, and adding new information as it becomes available is presented in this paper. Updates to the model are handled via different microservices. The architecture and connected workflows are demonstrated in a use case of classifying text data in a taxonomy represented by a directed acyclic graph (DAG). The presented architecture removes the classification bottleneck, as multiple data points can be added independent of each other, and reading access to the model is not restricted. Additional microservices also enable a manual intervention to update the model. © 2022 The Authors.

A biochar-assisted anaerobic membrane bioreactor(BC-AnMBR)was conducted to evaluate the performance in treating swine wastewater with different organic loading rates(OLR)ranging from 0.38 to 1.13 kg-COD/(m3.d).Results indicated that adding spent coffee grounds biochar(SCG-BC)improved the organic removal efficiency compared to the conventional AnMBR,with an overall COD removal rate of>95.01%.Meanwhile,methane production of up to 0.22 LCH4/gCOD with an improvement of 45.45%was achieved under a high OLR of 1.13 kg-COD/(m3.d).Furthermore,the transmembrane pressure(TMP)in the BC-AnMBR system was stable at 4.5 kPa,and no irreversible membrane fouling occurred within 125 *** community analysis revealed that the addition of SCG-BC increased the relative abundance of autotrophic methanogenic archaea,particularly Methanosarcina(from 0.11%to 11.16%)and Methanothrix(from 16.34%to 24.05%).More importantly,Desulfobacterota and Firmicutes phylum with direct interspecific electron transfer(DIET)capabilities were also enriched with autotrophic *** of the electron transfer pathway showed that the concentration of c-type cytochromes increased by 38.60%in the presence of SCGBC,and thus facilitated the establishment of DIET and maintained high activity of the elec-tron transfer system even at high *** short,the BC-AnMBR system performs well under various OLR conditions and is stable in the recovery energy system for swine wastewater.

This paper presents a general study of the instruments and control strategies involved in the design of a hybrid microgrid (HMG), where multi-source power production unites are spread within its local confines. The primary goal of this endeavor is to observe, analyze and document the feasibility and performance of hybrid topologies, where a region of stability is adopted for the analysis of system's response to a step load. The characteristics of the employed devices, namely;current source converters (CSC) on the DC side and paralleled voltage source inverters (VSI) are viewed from a power generation standpoint. For the DC part of the HMG, coordinated power sharing is achieved by super imposing the currents of the sources to possible values that correspond to a desired point on each source's power production chart. On the AC side, a droop controller is implemented to coordinate the energy production of the different source supplying the AC bus. © 2024 IEEE.

The application of knowledge management strategies, such as knowledge codification and personalization strategy, influences business performance because appropriate knowledge management strategies align with firms’ strategies and support knowledge management activities. However, the findings of previous empirical studies regarding the relationship between knowledge codification strategy versus knowledge personalization strategy and business performance are inconclusive. This study aims to adopt a meta-analysis approach to investigate the relationships between knowledge codification strategy versus knowledge personalization strategy and business performance. It reveals that the knowledge codification strategy was positively related to the overall business and financial performance, while the knowledge personalization strategy was positively associated with overall business performance. To the best of the authors’ knowledge, this is the first meta-analysis research that clarifies the knowledge management strategy-business performance relationship. © the authors, 2023. In order to mitigate the challenges of low inertia power systems and grid stability issues arising from increased integration of offshore wind power plants, it is necessary to change the control strategy of wind turbine converters from grid-following to grid-forming. In grids consisting of offshore power plants connected to an HVDC system, the controllability strategy could be divided into different subsystems, with the grid-forming converter design of the HVDC system and the wind turbines playing an important role. The grid-forming converter is more suitable for weak grids than the grid-following converter due to its better damping provision and dynamic response. This paper first reviews the state of the art in grid-forming technology to describe the challenges of implementing grid-forming control in wind power plants. It then reviews the Grid Code to analyse the requirements for grid-forming capability and fault ride through capability of HVDC-connected wind power plants. A PSCAD model of an HVDC connected offshore wind power plant wherein all wind turbines are equipped with grid-forming control is developed to investigate the performance of a system under fault conditions. Through study cases, highlighted in this paper, the fault ride-through performance of the grid-forming wind power plant is demonstrated. © Energynautics GmbH.

The purpose of this study was to develop and validate an instrument to measure attitudes of middle school students toward STEM learning, including integrative STEM learning. The participants were 274 middle school students (grades 7–9) in Taiwan. Results from the expert review, exploratory factor analysis, correlational analysis, and group difference analysis provided different sources of validity evidence. Five factors were identified, including students’ interest/expectancies in math, perceptions of importance/utility of math, attitudes toward science, attitudes toward technology/engineering, and attitudes toward integrative STEM learning. Moderate correlations among the factors and STEM career interests and statistically significant group differences in terms of gender and participation in math remedial instruction were found. Multiple regression analysis results also showed that the five factors statistically significantly predicted STEM career interests. Internal consistency indicated an appropriate to excellent level. These results provided preliminary support for the psychometric properties to measure middle school students’ attitudes toward STEM learning. Finally, this study points out the critical role of integrative STEM learning in the construct and suggests further research on the mechanisms among expectancies for success, subjective task value, and persistence in learning STEM. © 2023 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Phytochemical screening, antioxidant properties, and photocytotoxicity of Clinacanthus nutans leaf extracts

Clinacanthus nutans (Burm. f.) Lindau (C. nutans) is renowned in many tropical countries for its wide range of traditional uses and medicinal properties. This study qualitatively screened ethanol, hexane, and ethyl acetate (EA) leaf extracts of C. nutans for phytochemicals and evaluated their antioxidant activities using 2,2-diphenyl-1-picrylhydrazyl (DPPH) free radical scavenging and ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) assays. Furthermore, the photocytotoxicity of the extracts against the A431 human skin squamous carcinoma cells was assessed using the 3-(4,5-dimethylthiazol-2-yl)-2,5-diphenyltetrazolium bromide (MTT) assay. Qualitative phytochemicals screening revealed the presence of terpenes, alkaloids, phenols, quinones, and chlorophyll, whereas flavonoids and anthraquinones were absent in all crude extracts. In the DPPH assay, the EA crude extract exhibited the lowest EC₅₀ value of 31 ± 2 μg/mL, whereas the same extract demonstrated the highest FRAP value of 7.42 ± 1.87 mmol Fe2+/g DW. After photodynamic therapy (PDT) activation, EA crude extract demonstrated the strongest photocytotoxic activity against A431 cells with an IC₅₀ value of 8 ± 1 μg/mL, followed by the hexane crude extract (IC₅₀ = 16 ± 2 μg/mL) and the ethanol crude extract (IC₅₀ = 20 ± 1 μg/mL). However, all three crude extracts showed negligible activity against the A431 cells in the absence of PDT treatment, even at concentrations as high as 200 μg/mL after 24 h of dark incubation. These findings suggest that C. nutans could serve as a potential source of natural antioxidants and photosensitizers for photodynamic therapy in cancer treatment. © 2023, The Author(s) under exclusive licence to Society for Plant Research.
