An intra-body communication(IBC) research platform based on virtual instrument was established for the hardware design of IBC transceiver. Firstly, the feasibility of constructing IBC research platform using optic-coupling circuit was verified via comparison of three kinds of measurement methods based on virtual instrument. Then, ASK, FSK and BPSK modulation-demodulation were realized via lab VIEW programming, and user interface of the platform was also designed. The platform could achieve signal transmission or recover under different coupling type, different channel distance and different modulation-demodulation method, etc., by means of dynamic adjusting of platform parameters. Experiment results of capacitive-coupling under the platform indicated the authenticity and feasibility of signal transmission. Finally, a full-floating IBC transceiver was designed aided by the parameters provided by the research platform under the scene of capacitive-coupling, FSK modulation and 180 cm channel distance. Moreover, Bit Error Rate(BER) of the transceiver was less than 1 e-5, which meant that it is effective and convenient for the design of IBC transceiver aided by virtual instrument platform.

With the aim of resolving the issue of cluster analysis more precisely and validly, a new approach was proposed based on biogeography-based optimization (abbreviated as BBO) algorithm. (Method) First, we reformulated the problem with an optimization model based on the variance ratio criterion (VARAC). Then, BBO was presented to search the optimal solution of the VARAC. There are 400 data of four groups in the experimental dataset, which have the degrees of overlapping of three distinct scales. The first one is nonoverlapping, the second one is partial overlapping, and the last is severely overlapping. BBO algorithm was compared with three different state-of-the-art approaches. We ran every algorithm 20 times. In this experiment, our results demonstrate the maximum VARAC values that can be found by BBO. The conclusion is that BBO is predominant which is extremely quick for the issue of clustering analysis. © Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2017.

Stochastic Non-convex Ordinal Embedding with Stabilized Barzilai-Borwein Step Size

Learning representation from relative similarity comparisons, often called ordinal embedding, gains rising attention in recent years. Most of the existing methods are batch methods designed mainly based on the convex optimization, say, the projected gradient descent method. However, they are generally time-consuming due to that the singular value decomposition (SVD) is commonly adopted during the update, especially when the data size is very large. To overcome this challenge, we propose a stochastic algorithm called SVRG-SBB, which has the following features: (a) SVD-free via dropping convexity, with good scalability by the use of stochastic algorithm, i.e., stochastic variance reduced gradient (SVRG), and (b) adaptive step size choice via introducing a new stabilized Barzilai-Borwein (SBB) method as the original version for convex problems might fail for the considered stochastic non-convex optimization problem. Moreover, we show that the proposed algorithm converges to a stationary point at a rate O( 1/T ) in our setting, where T is the number of total iterations. Numerous simulations and real-world data experiments are conducted to show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm via comparing with the state-of-the-art methods, particularly, much lower computational cost with good prediction performance. Encryption algorithms are applied to a variety of fields and the security of encryption algorithms depends heavily on the computational infeasibility of exhaustive key-space search. RC4 algorithm has an extensive application for stream encryption, however, the disadvantages of traditional RC4 serial algorithm are large computational quantity and slow computation speed, which means a great challenge for throughput of computing system. Graphics processors recently have been widely used as accelerators for high throughput computing. In this paper, GPU is used to improve the efficiency and performance of attacking RC4 algorithm. First, we revised RC4 algorithm to make it easier to parallelize on a GPU. Then we take advantage of constant memory and shared memory in GPU to search the key space of RC4 algorithm efficiently. Besides, we solved the bank conflict problem in shared memory to further improve the performance. Our approach was evaluated in the whole key space of 40-bit, and the results show it can complete searching of the whole key space within 12.8 hours. © 2016 IEEE.

This paper studies the problem of image-based leader-follower formation control for mobile robots, where the controller is designed independently of the leader's motion. An adaptive control scheme, which is suitable for both omnidirectional and perspective cameras, is proposed. The proposed approach avoids the need for accurate calibration of the extrinsic parameters of the omnidirectional camera as well as the intrinsic and extrinsic parameters of perspective camera. Additionally, the coefficients of the plane where the feature point moves relative to the camera frame can be uncertain. These uncertain constant parameters are estimated using an adaptive estimator. Uniform Semi-global Practical Asymptotic Stability (USPAS) of the system is shown using the Lyapunov approach. Experimental results are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control scheme.

Background:The risk of prehypertension with dynamic change in waist circumference (WC)has not been investigated ***:A total of 4848 participants who underwent health check-up in Beijing Health Examination Center and Beijing Xiaotangshan Hospital were recruited in 2009 and followed up in *** were classified into four groups according to categories of percent WC gain:≤ -2.5%,-2.5% to 2.5%,2.5% to 5% and > 5%.Modified Poisson regression models were used to evaluate the effect of WC gain on ***:During 7 years of follow-up,we identified 2492 prehypertension events (1378 women).Compared with participants without abdominal obesity at both baseline and follow-up,participants who developed abdominal obesity or stayed abdominal obesity at follow-up were at greater risk of *** with WC gain ≤ -2.5%,participants with WC gain had higher risk for prehypertension for men (WC gain (2.5%-5%):RR=1.16,95% CI:1.02-1.32,WC gain (>5%):RR=1.25,95% CI:1.10-1.42) and women (WC gain (>5%):RR=1.32,95% CI:1.17-1.49).Conclusions:The risk for prehypertension increased significantly with increasing WC for both genders in Chinese *** interventions aiming at preventing abdominal obesity are urgently needed to reduce the increasing burden of prehypertension,hypertension and its complications.
