In this paper, we propose a reconfgurable electrode, RElectrode, using a microfuidic technique that can change the geometry and material properties of the electrode to satisfy the needs for sensing a variety of diferent types of user input through touch/touchless gestures, pressure, temperature, and distinguish between diferent types of objects or liquids. Unlike the existing approaches, which depend on the specifc-shaped electrode for particular sensing (e.g., coil for inductive sensing), RElectrode enables capacity, inductance, resistance/pressure, temperature, pH sensings all in a single package. We demonstrate the design and fabrication of the microfuidic structure of our RElectrode, evaluate its sensing performance through several studies, and provide some unique applications. RElectrode demonstrates technical feasibility and application values of integrating physical and biochemical properties of microfuidics into novel sensing interfaces. © 2021 ACM.

With the rapid development of document digitization, people have become accustomed to capturing and processing documents using electronic devices such as smartphones. However, the captured document images often suffer from issues like shadows and noise due to environmental factors, which can affect their readability. To improve the quality of captured document images, researchers have proposed a series of models or frameworks and applied them in distinct scenarios such as image enhancement, and document information extraction. In this paper, we primarily focus on shadow removal methods and open-source datasets. We concentrate on recent advancements in this area, first organizing and analyzing nine available datasets. Then, the methods are categorized into conventional methods and neural network-based methods. Conventional methods use manually designed features and include shadow map-based approaches and illumination-based approaches. Neural network-based methods automatically generate features from data and are divided into single-stage approaches and multi-stage approaches. We detail representative algorithms and briefly describe some typical techniques. Finally, we analyze and discuss experimental results, identifying the limitations of datasets and methods. Future research directions are discussed, and nine suggestions for shadow removal from document images are proposed. To our knowledge, this is the first survey of shadow removal methods and related datasets from document images.

Context: Software Architecture Smells (AS) are potential software structure problems and always impact software quality negatively. And with the development of Microservice architecture, the Microservice Architecture Smells (MAS) have been attracting more and more attention. The software scholars and developers have discovered the influence of MAS and performed some researches on them. However, the definition and category of MAS are still ambiguous. Objects: This paper aims to clarify the specific MAS categories and their definitions, and then further explores the issues caused by MAS in the migration process from a monolithic system to Microservice. Method: We performed a comprehensive systematic literature review about MAS. Specifically, we explored 13 white and 10 grey literature in detail to get MAS information by using the quantitative research method. To explore the issues that influence the migration process from a monolithic system to Microservice, we used the meta-ethnography qualitative research method to extract relevant information and get six three-order translations. Results: This study defined 22 Microservice Architecture Smells and classified them into five categories, namely Design, Deployment, Monitor & Log, Communication and Team & Tool, based on their characteristics. Simultaneously, the issues that influence the migration process are proposed, including service cutting, databases, communication, team and techniques. Finally, we matched the MAS to the issues they caused in the migration process and recommended solutions to these issues. © 2022 ACM.

The features of microservices, such as scalability and maintainability, have attracted the industry to migrate monolithic projects to microservices. However, how to decompose microservices during migration is a tricky problem. At present, microservices decomposition mainly relies on architects or domain experts, which is more subjective and time-consuming. Followed by semi-automated or automated microservice decomposition, such methods produce coarse-grained results affected by different system characteristics, which cannot make desired decomposition according to the migration requirements of domains. Therefore, this paper proposes a domain-oriented fine-grained microservices decomposition resolution scheme. It uses dynamic and static analysis to obtain the invocation relationships and invocation times between entity methods and the response time of entity methods to represent three main system characteristics concerned during the migration: function, inter-service communications, and performance. And express the above information of monolith by the node-attributed network. Then it uses the community detection algorithm and the proposed similar hierarchical clustering algorithm to complete objective and effective decomposition. Finally, the rationality and feasibility of the proposed approach are verified using the JPetStore case. © 2022 ACM.

Language-queried target sound extraction (TSE) aims to extract specific sounds from mixtures based on language queries. Traditional fully-supervised training schemes require extensively annotated parallel audio-text data, which are labor-intensive. We introduce a parallel-data-free training scheme, requiring only unlabelled audio clips for TSE model training by utilizing the contrastive language-audio pre-trained model (CLAP). In a vanilla parallel-data-free training stage, target audio is encoded using the pre-trained CLAP audio encoder to form a condition embedding, while during testing, user language queries are encoded by CLAP text encoder as the condition embedding. This vanilla approach assumes perfect alignment between text and audio embeddings, which is unrealistic. Two major challenges arise from training-testing mismatch: the persistent modality gap between text and audio and the risk of overfitting due to the exposure of rich acoustic details in target audio embedding during training. To address this, we propose a retrieval-augmented strategy. Specifically, we create an embedding cache using audio captions generated by a large language model (LLM). During training, target audio embeddings retrieve text embeddings from this cache to use as condition embeddings, ensuring consistent modalities between training and testing and eliminating information leakage. Extensive experiment results show that our retrieval-augmented approach achieves consistent and notable performance improvements over existing state-of-the-art with better generalizability. © 2025 IEEE.

Anomize: Better Open Vocabulary Video Anomaly Detection

Open Vocabulary Video Anomaly Detection (OVVAD) seeks to detect and classify both base and novel anomalies. However, existing methods face two specific challenges related to novel anomalies. The first challenge is detection ambiguity, where the model struggles to assign accurate anomaly scores to unfamiliar anomalies. The second challenge is categorization confusion, where novel anomalies are often misclassified as visually similar base instances. To address these challenges, we explore supplementary information from multiple sources to mitigate detection ambiguity by leveraging multiple levels of visual data alongside matching textual information. Furthermore, we propose incorporating label relations to guide the encoding of new labels, thereby improving alignment between novel videos and their corresponding labels, which helps reduce categorization confusion. The resulting Anomize framework effectively tackles these issues, achieving superior performance on UCF-CRIME and XD-VIOLENCE datasets, demonstrating its effectiveness in OVVAD. CODESWIFT: Accelerating LLM Inference for Efficient Code Generation

Code generation is a latency-sensitive task that demands high timeliness, but the autoregressive decoding mechanism of Large Language Models (LLMs) leads to poor inference efficiency. Existing LLM inference acceleration methods mainly focus on standalone functions using only built-in components. Moreover, they treat code like natural language sequences, ignoring its unique syntax and semantic characteristics. As a result, the effectiveness of these approaches in code generation tasks remains limited and fails to align with real-world programming scenarios. To alleviate this issue, we propose CODESWIFT, a simple yet highly efficient inference acceleration approach specifically designed for code generation, without comprising the quality of the output. CODESWIFT constructs a multi-source datastore, providing access to both general and project-specific knowledge, facilitating the retrieval of high-quality draft sequences. Moreover, CODESWIFT reduces retrieval cost by controlling retrieval timing, and enhances efficiency through parallel retrieval and a context- and LLM preference-aware cache. Experimental results show that CODESWIFT can reach up to 2.53× and 2.54× speedup compared to autoregressive decoding in repository-level and standalone code generation tasks, respectively, outperforming state-of-the-art inference acceleration approaches by up to 88%. Image segmentation plays a critical role in computer-aided diagnosis and treatment planning for cervical cancer. Obtaining a large number of labeled images for supervised cervical segmentation is often labor-intensive and time-consuming. In this paper, we propose a multi-stage semi-supervised learning framework (Semi-CervixSeg) to address the cervical seg-mentation task in ultrasound images for Fetal Ultrasound Grand Challenge: Semi-Supervised Cervical Segmentation in ISBI 2025. Specifically, in the initial stage, we utilize unlabeled data through a multi-view random augmentation strategy, using consistency constraints and a contrastive learning method. Subsequently, a progressive multi-stage training strategy is adopted to generate and optimize pseudo-labels, further improving segmentation results. Experimental re-sults demonstrate that the proposed method significantly im-proves segmentation performance compared with supervised methods. As a technical report for the challenge, this paper elaborates on our methodology and experimental findings in detail.
