Computational music research plays a critical role in advancing music production, distribution, and understanding across various musical styles in the world. Despite the immense cultural and religious significance, the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church (EOTC) chants are relatively underrepresented in computational music research. This paper contributes to this field by introducing a new dataset specifically tailored for the analysis of EOTC chants, also known as Yaredawi Zema. This work provides a comprehensive overview of a 10-hour dataset, 369 instances, creation, and curation process, including rigorous quality assurance measures. Our dataset has a detailed word-level temporal boundary and reading tone annotation along with the corresponding chanting mode label of audios. Moreover, we have also identified the chanting options associated with multiple chanting notations in the manuscript by annotating them accordingly. Our goal in making this dataset available to the public1 is to encourage more research and study of EOTC chants, including lyrics transcription, lyric-to-audio alignment, and music generation tasks. Such research work will advance knowledge and efforts to preserve this distinctive liturgical music, a priceless cultural artifact for the Ethiopian people. © 2024, CC BY.

Evolutionary algorithms are effective methods for solving optimization problems that do not require any special assumptions to find optimal solutions. Optimization based on teaching and learning has been parallelized using CUDA parallelization technology. The results show that the proposed parallel version of the algorithm is fast and efficient in teaching and learning phases.

The utilization of technology only aims to be fast, precise, and accurate in each implementation and find a better solution at that time in several sectors. This study aims to identify the use of Global Positioning technology (GPS) technology to track the position of the motor sailing yachts, specifically with the features used on a device or smart-phone during a trip or expedition. This research uses a type of applied research to solve problems that are faced clearly, and the results can be used as a basis for solving corrective steps. The results found that GPS-technology on motor sailing yachts in "Pelayaran Rakyat"maritime can receive coordinates point and then send these coordinates to the vessel-tracking systems to determine the position of the motor sailing yachts between users. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

Solar energy could mitigate global warming and climate change. Solar energy faces economic, environmental, and technical challenges. Machine learning solves these technical issues. Despite several studies, machine learning in photovoltaics and solar energy is understudied. This study examines publishing patterns and bibliometrics to critically evaluate machine learning applications in photovoltaics and solar energy research. Scopus uses PRISMA. International publishing, citations, and collaboration are high. The Chinese Ministry of Education employs famous scholars like G. E. Georghiou and Haibo Ma. China is most active due to funding schemes like the National Natural Science Foundation and the National Key Research and Development programme. This study examines publication patterns by country, institution, and funding organisation from 2014 to 2022, spanning topic categories and indicators. Examining author-keyword data to group publishing themes and identify influential journals. Increasing understanding of machine learning applications in photovoltaics and solar energy research. This project will examine the potential for significant development and the hurdles that must be overcome to leverage Cognitive Computing's benefits in cancer and tumour research. In response to the rising amount of malware, phishing, and intrusion attacks on global energy and grid infrastructure, photovoltaic and solar energy system cybersecurity may be studied. © 2024 IEEE.

The integration of Internet of Things (IoT) technologies into modern homes has enhanced safety and comfort, particularly in detecting gas leaks, which pose serious fire hazards. Gas leaks can often be detected by smell, but this method fails when no one is present. Previous research using microcontrollers and sensors to detect gas leaks faced challenges with accuracy due to noise interference. This paper proposes the use of a Kalman filter, developed by Rudolf Emil Kalman in 1960, to improve gas leak detection accuracy by filtering out noise. The system comprises an Arduino Nano, ESP8266 WiFi module, MQ-2 gas sensor, buzzer, and ThingSpeak cloud platform. By applying the Kalman filter, noise and data oscillations are reduced, enhancing detection accuracy. Experimental results show the system effectively detects gas leaks, provides real-time data, and triggers alarms. Future improvements could include additional sensors and features to further increase the system’s reliability and functionality.

The lungs are one of the organs of the body that are responsible for the human respiratory process and are very susceptible to dangerous diseases. For this reason, early detection and diagnosis of lung organs is needed, one of which is through examination of Chest X-Ray (CXR) images. Examination of the results of CXR images is still done manually by doctors and radiologists, this requires time and high accuracy. To facilitate the examination, it is necessary to image quality enhancement in order to get better image quality results so as to produce an accurate diagnosis. The initial stage in this research is to apply the contour improvement technique to the image using Morphology Opening, and followed by noise reduction using Median Filter and Gaussian filter. The results of the two methods of noise reduction are compared with the results of image quality in order to find out the best method that can be applied. The implementation of image quality enhancement results was measured quantitatively using Peak Signal-to-Noise Ratio (PSNR), Mean Square Error (MSE), and Structural Similarity Index Metrics (SSIM). In the Morphology Opening and Median Filter methods, the values obtained are 39.187, 22.252, and 0.952, respectively. Meanwhile, the Morphology Opening and Gaussian Filter methods obtained values of 38.717, 23.917 and 0.956. Based on these results, it can be concluded that both methods are able to improve image quality well.

An investigation area of interest including the use of blockchain technology to address Internet of Things security concerns (IoT). Despite the fact that numerous relevant ideas have been offered, there are few published works that provide hypothetical and information backing. The examination of model building and execution assessment is the focus of this research. First, an IoT security paradigm is outlined, using blockchain and the Inter-Planetary-File-system (IPFS) in a view. Many of the security risks associated with traditional IoT designs can be avoided with this paradigm, and framework execution is entirely focused on distributed large limit stockpiling, simultaneity, and query. In addition, the suggested model's display is evaluated using normal idleness and throughput, which are important for further investigation and enhancement of this course. The blockchain-based security model's feasibility has been demonstrated via analysis and experiments. © 2022 IEEE.

Energy plays an important role in the economic growth of any nation, but unfortunately, Pakistan is facing a severe power crisis that has caused economic losses in the past two decades. One reason is the lack of proper planning, and planning is made with the help of accurate forecasting. Usually, energy consumption prediction is based on the univariate models neglecting the other influencing factors like economic, social and environmental. And even when we consider these external factors, it is very hard to select the appropriate factors. We have taken into consideration nine different external factors and also the lag values of dependent variables (Electricity, gas and oil). Upon making different combinations, we derived over 4000 regression models and our algorithms selected the best models based on the value of mean absolute percentage error and root-mean-square error. Our method provides a comprehensive approach for variable selection and best model selection for prediction. © 2021 IEEE.

Along with technological improvements, online shopping is currently developing quickly. Online shops started by selling electronics, clothing, food, and home appliances and continue to evolve, selling various things. Currently, digital marketing has a novel technique, namely live shopping, where sellers can present, promote and offer their products directly through live streaming on social media and e-commerce platforms. This research will focus on gaining insight into the factors influencing customers to watch and purchase through live streaming. This research is an early-stage study of exploring and searching for research models. The study used a literature review approach by reviewing similar previous research articles. Several variable components were used in this study. The findings of the factors include visibility capacity, meta-vocation capacity, purchase orientation capacity, social presence, price, perceived product quality, perceived enjoyment, purchase orientation, perceived usefulness, and intention to buy. These factors were tested and proved to be valid with Cronbach's Alpha value being more than 0.5 and reliable with the value of the loading factor a greater than 0.6. Criteria The factors of the findings for further analysis of the relationship between factors and other variables.

Local villagers in Mae Sot District, Tak Province, Thailand are at risk of diseases related to cadmium (Cd) due to excessive consumption of rice contaminated with Cd due to zinc mining. This study verifies the hypothesis that to achieve safe rice cultivation, magnet-assisted soil washing followed by soil amendment using zero-valent iron (ZVI) is required not only for rapid remediation of the existing Cd contamination but also for the prevention of Cd recontamination caused by contaminated run-off from an upgradient contaminated paddy. Accordingly, this study conducted a pilot-scale demonstration of the combined technique to restore a real Cd-contaminated paddy (41.02 ± 5.47 mg/kg−1) and compared it with remediation using only soil amendment with ZVI or only magnet-assisted soil washing. The Cd concentration in rice grains from the contaminated rice field without treatment was 0.86 ± 0.01 mg/kg−1, and thus higher than the acceptable level of 0.4 mg/kg−1. Even though the use of magnet-assisted soil washing without amendment initially removed all the bioavailable Cd from the soil, it failed to reduce Cd uptake by the rice plants. This failure was caused by heavy off-season rain, which flooded and re-contaminated the experimental fields with Cd-contaminated run-off from an upgradient contaminated field, leading to a Cd concentration in rice grains of 1.21 ± 0.01 mg/kg−1. Similarly, the use of ZVI as a soil amendment without magnet-assisted soil washing could not ensure safe rice cultivation during the off-season flood, as Cd concentration in the rice grains was still 0.60 mg/kg−1. However, magnet-assisted soil washing followed by soil amendment using ZVI successfully removed Cd from soil and sequestered Cd from Cd-contaminated run-off, resulting in protection against Cd re-contamination in soil and the reduction of Cd content in rice grains to 0.33 mg/kg−1, representing a 60% removal efficacy.
