Inter-firm R&D collaboration is valuable for companies when it helps them to gain complementary intellectual resources, access to diverse markets, share product development's cost, shorten the time to market of new products, and avoiding redundant expenditures. This kind of collaboration could be considered as a good way responding to the modern business world today which is dynamic, complex, and intensively competitive. This research therefore focus on the role of Intellectual property shared and used in Design service where inter-firm R&D collaboration is major activity, the supporting functions of IP management's core components developed in previous research. Conducting a survey from new product development managers of Taiwan's high-tech industry, this research's result shows that Know how-related intellectual property has positive effects on indicating factors of design service performance such as Time to market, productivity, quality, and efficiency. Another result indicates that four of IP management's core components are positive associated with the performance of design service, those core components are: Legalization capability, intra-firm relationship capability, collaboration formation capability, and main goal of collaboration.

We research the multimedia information hiding (MIH) which is a technology to overlay digital information on multimedia contents such as picture, sound, document, etc. As application to disaster management of MIH, we have developed a new technology called "PAIH" (Public Address information Hiding) which is a technology to overlay information such as position or destination on siren sound of urgent vehicles. Siren sound is allowed to degrade of sound quality, but PAIH is required to decode correct information from siren sound with pitch shift (Doppler effect) or under noisy environment.

Website Personalization is one of strategic technique in delivering services in online applications. A part of process for building personalization applications is to collect particular information from the user which involves information sharing. However, the awareness about privacy concerns and security threats have caused to non-sharing behavior among the Internet Users. This situation have caused website personalization cannot be built to serve its purposes. This paper aims to investigate the people's behavior and to study the propensity of information sharing attitude in two different environments and cultures. The two environments are between real-life and online while the two cultures are between Malaysian and non-Malaysian. Since this is an exploratory study, interview with five (5) persons have been conducted. The qualitative technique that chooses was recommended for any exploratory study. The findings of this study explained the understanding of behaviors and the factors of information Sharing. The factors are the cultural factors, the platform of sharing and the behavior of information sharing in web personalization. The sharing behavior in two environments and cultures were also compared. The data collected from the interviews have generalizing the speculations and issues in information sharing which have been discussed at the end section of this paper. ©2010 IEEE.

Content based image retrieval (CBIR) is well-known in the field of image retrieval. It uses contents of an image from image processing and analysis to retrieve images that users were looking for from an image search. Shape based image retrieval was focused in this paper. A data mining was considered to find knowledge in the image database. Fourier descriptor is a most technique to extract contour feature of images. It was used to analyze the testing and training images in the preprocessing step. Fourier coefficients were quantized into multiple attributes and rough set theory was used to generate a rule-based system. Rough set theory is used as a data mining technique. It was compared to similarity measurement. We use 15, 984 testing image data with 71, 928 training image data in this experiment. A total usage time of rough set method is 13, 286 seconds. A total usage time of similarity measurement is 19, 365 seconds. A total usage memory of rough set method and similarity measurement are 2.8 Mbytes and 8.6 Mbytes respectively. An average precision, an average recall and an average accuracy of rough set method are 0.1297, 0.261 and 0.9971. An average precision, an average recall and an average accuracy of similarity measurement are 0.1619, 0.9651 and 0.9852. The rough set method is advantage to the usage time and the usage memory. © 2010 IEEE.

The Thai justice has been using information systems in their routine works for nearly 20 *** 1993,Thailand attempted to integrate information systems(IS) of all agencies in justice ***,the result was unsuccessful and the project was *** critical but common problems are data duplication and data inconsistency. Because most of Thai government agencies have been using their own information systems designed based on the agencies' requirements,which normally developed by outsourcers or *** a result,any attempt of information integration cause data duplication and data inconsistency problems. However,these problems can be theoretically solved by using global unique identifier such as citizen identifier number or common attributes that are available in local *** practical,only using global unique identifier may not be *** model and data cleansing are still in need. This work presents suitable integration information model, aiming to resolve these *** the non-technical problems such as legal issue and right protection cannot be achieved by using only data integration *** suitable information management model is,therefore,critical and described in this *** combining these two models,the research shows that it is able to overcome cultural organizations and legal issue as well as all technical problems. The techniques and methodologies including data integration concept,resource oriented architecture(ROA),and the management model proposed here help to promote transparency,accountability and auditability of all information systems in the Thai justice.

Around 1993, Thailand attempted to integrate information systems (IS) of all agencies in justice system. Unfortunately, the result was unsuccessful and the project was terminated. The critical but common problems are data duplication and data inconsistency. Because most of Thai government agencies have been using their own information systems designed based on the agencies' requirements, which normally developed by outsourcers or contractors. As a result, any attempt of information integration cause data duplication and data inconsistency problems. However, these problems can be theoretically solved by using global unique identifier such as citizen identifier number or common attributes that are available in local sources. In practical, only using global unique identifier may not be sufficient. Mapping model and data cleansing are still in need. This work presents suitable integration information model, aiming to resolve these problems. However the non-technical problems such as legal issue and right protection cannot be achieved by using only data integration model. The suitable information management model is, therefore, critical and described in this work. By combining these two models, the research shows that it is able to overcome cultural organizations and legal issue as well as all technical problems. The techniques and methodologies including data integration concept, resource oriented architecture (ROA), and the management model proposed here help to promote transparency, accountability and auditability of all information systems in the Thai justice.

Auto landing is a very important function of control in the development of autonomous unmanned *** this paper,the stereo vision system is proposed to provide the height information on landing control instead of global positioning system(GPS).GPS provided 3-axis information,but the height error of GPS is usually in meters,which is not accurate enough for *** stereo vision system provided a more accurate height information to correct the error of *** this paper,the stereo vision system is composed of two webcams and the variable baseline method is selected to increase the measurement *** results show that variable baseline method did increase the accuracy of the stereo vision system with the webcams,and that not only provided an authentic piece of height information but also provided another option of sensor for autonomous unmanned helicopter's auto landing control.
