The trend of using video conferencing applications for distance learning has increased during the pandemic and the new normal period. Distance learning offers a solution to overcome distance and time differences through the use of new information technology that can be continuously updated. However, distance learning also presents challenges and problems in engaging learners. It is important to know how the level of learner's engagement are during distance learning. To determine the engagement level of learners in distance learning, a detector is needed that can reach learners who are not visible to the instructor. Along with detection, interventions to improve engagement in distance learning are also necessary to maintain high levels of learner engagement. Previous studies on the detection of engagement with computer vision based on facial emotion expressions have not implemented interventions in their research. This research accommodates engagement interventions in distance learning based on the level of engagement that has been detected by engagement detection services. Distance learning using this service prototype shows that the level of student engagement is maintained. © 2023 IEEE.

Automation systems in transport vehicles such as forklifts can provide solutions in terms of time, quantity, and accommodation costs during operation, as conventional forklift operation requires drivers with specific certifications and qualifications. Automation in forklifts requires various control functions that utilize various types of data. Some functions needed in forklift automation include object detection and object distance measurement. Object distance measurement will utilize LiDAR (Light Detection and Ranging) technology, which offers high accuracy with a wide detection range and can be used at various scanning angles. Using 2D LiDAR for scanning can only provide output in the form of detection along a single horizontal line, so for three-dimensional object recognition, the system requires additional supporting sensors such as cameras. Object detection or recognition using cameras can be performed using deep learning applications with specific datasets of objects to be detected. Object detection is implemented using YOLOv5, while object distance measurement utilizes data fusion and projection from 2D LiDAR with camera data. In this system, object detection data is provided with a precision of 0.97945 using YOLOv5 model with type-m epoch 100, while the best distance measurement is achieved using the projection method from 2D LiDAR data to the camera with an error rate of 0.15%. © 2023 IEEE.

This literature review consolidates key insights on Information technology (IT) portfolio management, smart IT investment, cost estimation, and optimization techniques, specifically focusing on the applications of neural networks. As businesses increasingly pivot towards digital landscapes, the strategic role of IT portfolio management in aligning IT investments with business objectives has become paramount. Various sources underline the necessity of smart IT investment decisions, acknowledging their potential to drastically reduce operational costs and enhance business value. Our review further discusses how the predictive capabilities of neural networks have begun to shape cost estimation in IT portfolio management, highlighting the precision they bring to resource allocation. The integration of neural networks into IT portfolio management has shown promise in the existing literature, offering the potential to optimize smart IT investments and revolutionize traditional business models. This review concludes by identifying areas where more research is needed and explores the future implications of this integration © 2023 IEEE.

The photovoltaic (PV) system works connected to the electricity network, there is a problem of output power fluctuations. The output power of the PV system fluctuates causing system frequency instability. One way to overcome this problem is to use an energy storage system or an electric spring. The electric spring is a system that reduces the ramp rate or changes in the output power of the PV system suddenly, so that the power system perceives the power it produces changes slowly. This paper proposes a simulation of an electric spring using the moving average method to mitigate fluctuations in the output power of a PV system. The moving average (MA) method intends to average a number of PV system active power output data with an adjustable data size range. The active power output value of an average yield PV system is expected to change slowly or have a low ramp rate. The amount of input and output data becomes wider. Changes in the value of the window length adjust the desire and affect the active power output of the PV system that has been refined. The actual output active power of the PV system at that time will most likely not be equal to its average rated power. The energy storage system uses a type of valve regulated lead acid (VRLA) battery. The selection of batteries takes into consideration from the development, research and commercialization side, if all of these stages have been passed, the energy storage can be said to be mature. © 2023 IEEE.

Online forum platforms have emerged as highly popular digital communities for seeking and sharing valuable information. Within these platforms, searches are typically constrained to keyword-based queries. However, the presence of noise in keywords, such as spelling errors or abbreviations, often impedes accurate information retrieval. The impact of this noise on search results poses challenges to both the effectiveness and efficiency of the retrieval process. This study introduces an ensemble similarity model that combines the Vector Space Model (VSM) with edit distance models to enhance thread analysis within a graduate discussion forum. The UMT Computer Science Forum System (UMTCSF) serves as an online platform for Computer Science students to engage in discussions encompassing questions, answers, and topic exploration. Operating in real-time through a web-based application, UMTCSF employs similarity analysis while effectively addressing keyword search noise. An ensemble similarity model demonstrates its potential and practicality in improving search result rankings. By adeptly combining different models and addressing keyword-related challenges, UMTCSF presents a valuable solution for facilitating efficient and accurate information retrieval within the realm of graduate forum discussions. © 2023 IEEE.

The COVID-19 pandemic has driven the development of touchless and automatic face recognition technologies. Detection and recognition of masked faces is a relevant solution in the effort to control the spread of the virus. To prevent the transmission of the COVID-19 virus from becoming more widespread, there is a need for a human contactless system that can analyze and identify individuals wearing masks. This research focuses on face verification that determines whether the faces belong to the same person and classifies the faces into specific identities for the attendance process. This research is built and designed on the case of imperfectly exposed faces by testing the capabilities of You Only Look Once version 5 (YOLOv5) and Generative Adversarial Networks (GAN) algorithms by looking at the results of their standard metrics including loss, accuracy, precision, recall and f1-score. The accuracy achieved in the masked face recognition system using GAN is 99.8%. On the other hand, the accuracy using the validation set by GAN is 99.7%. While the training loss that has been achieved in this study is 0.64 and the validation loss achieved is 6.45. With these results the system successfully detects according to the time of detection on the web attendance system. The YOLOv5 algorithm is implemented in the detection process to get the bounding box on the registered face. Meanwhile, the GAN algorithm is used for masked face recognition that has been integrated into the designed web attendance system. The various trainings that have been conducted resulted in an accuracy rate of 99.8% for real-time implementation. The proposed system successfully detects the name and its accuracy rate despite the use of masks. © 2023 IEEE.

The challenge of the development of information technology at the present time is not only centered on the technology itself but must be able to collaborate with other fields to be more useful for society. One area that uses a lot of information technology innovation is in the financial sector. In the discipline of engineering, there are many concepts for solving problems that can be used to address a variety of issues related to the financial digitization process. Loan is a product that has a very important role in the financial sector This study will help scholars in the field of loan analysis, particularly those who employ approaches from the field of information technology, understand what loan analysis/credit scoring is and what models have been created to carry out loan analysis/credit scoring from an information technology approach. 685 distinct papers were systematically sourced for this evaluation, of which 79 were chosen for further analysis. In further discussion, this paper suggests how to develop a financial engineering scoring model to conduct loan analysis that can dynamically modify based on engineering concepts. © 2023 IEEE.

High-intensity rainfall in a short period can increase the likelihood of landslides and floods. The disaster mitigation process will be too late in such a short period. The absence of an early warning system also worsens this. Therefore, an accurate prediction system is needed to predict heavy rainfall. By utilizing real-Time observation data from Himawari-8, Rapidly Developing Cumulus Area (RDCA) can predict the possibility of heavy rainfall. However, RDCA has not been able to make predictions for a long period. Therefore, we propose a heavy rainfall prediction model from a deep learning perspective in this research by utilizing cloud observation data from Himawari-8 and RDCA index data. In this study, a Convolutional Long-Short Term Memory Model (ConvLSTM) with an encoder-forecaster architecture is designed to perform heavy rainfall prediction. The results of the model training process show that the performance increases as the training iterations grow. In addition, in experiments with test data, the model also produces probability values that are close to the same as the RDCA index value. This can be seen from the SSIM value, which is close to one. © 2023 IEEE.

Partial Discharge (PD) is one indicator of high failure isolation of equipment voltage. Partial discharge measurements were carried out To prevent damage to equipment voltage high. An antenna is one_tool measure used _To detect the partial discharge signal. Because many factors influence it, the antenna is still less sensitive inside PD arrest. The use of an amplifier is expected can build an internal antenna to catch partial discharge signal becomes more ok. In testing, These two antennas that are the same (identical) as sensors are installed, and carried out the installation of a Low Noise Amplifier (LNA) is on one of the antennas as a comparison To show the influence use of LNA against PD capture by the antenna. Test results show that PDIV occurs at 11.02 kV on both antennas. On testing, This is the formed phase pattern used To show the number of PDs captured by both antennas, the antenna using the LNA shows results in more PD arrests many. The use of LNA in testing has proven to increase the amount of arrest PD signal from the sensor antenna used. © 2023 IEEE.
