Since its inception, digital microfluidic (DMF) biochips usage in bioassays has increased significantly. An example of usages of DMF biochip is in deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) amplification such as polymerase chain reaction (PCR). Prior to this research, most DMF designs for PCR do thermal cycling by using a thermoelectric device under the chip. While this method is easier to be implemented, it has a larger thermal mass than using electrode loop design making it slower. Prior loop design has yet to consider the usage of three heaters to accommodate PCR bioassays with 3 stages. In this paper, we evaluate some factors that affect heat distribution on a DMF biochip. Using the simulation results, we are able to generate a layout design that has temperature deviation of less than 0.3°C. We also found out that heater width could affect the necessary heater temperature so that the heating area reaches the target temperature. By using our findings, DMF layout for PCR with three heaters can be optimized to achieve the optimal uniformity and minimize thermal interference between heaters. © 2022 IEEE.

Cassandra can store spatial data natively, however, it still provides limited number of spatial operations and lacks the features for data retrieval querying when compared to SQL databases. In this paper, a system was developed to perform spatial data retrieval using SQL queries by utilizing the PostGIS extension. The system developed complements the spatial operations provided by Cassandra and enables data retrieval by using SQL queries. The system works by transforming an input SQL query into one or more CQL queries to retrieve data from Cassandra. Afterwards, the data is used to fill in the table declaration of the input SQL query. To utilize Cassandra's advantages in storing data per column inside a block of memory, the CQL query being constructed will involve only the necessary columns that are needed from a table. To optimize the system's performance in retrieving large amount of data, it identifies and translates the predicates that can be executed on Cassandra. The system also uses the streaming method and stores data temporarily in PostgreSQL for the excess data. To test its performance, the system will be given input queries with various spatial functions, subquery expressions, and the number of tables involved. The execution time for each query will then be measured for further analysis. Based on the evaluation results, it is concluded that the SQL interface has successfully able to retrieve spatial data records stored in Cassandra. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper will also contribute to research on how to create a loan product model in information technology approach with the focus on loan analysis framework. The classification technique is one of the popular techniques used in helping humans decide the target class of a data based on machine learning principles. Unfortunately the construction of a classification model has no limits and will always evolve over time. There is no surefire way to make a perfect classification model, but there are ways that at least make the classification model better. This study applies the feature selection method to produce a more optimal classification model accuracy value. Of the many feature selection algorithms, this research chooses Relief which is combined with a classification algorithm, namely Random Forest and Support Vector Machine. This research also applies the Grid Search Optimization method in selecting the most influential features. In addition, it is also used to select the best hyperparameters to build the classification model. For splitting the data set, the K Fold Cross Validation technique is used in order to get the most optimal proportion of data splitting. Compared to the accuracy values before and after feature selection, both classification algorithms after feature selection significantly outperform the classification model before feature selection. It was also found that the model's capabilities in the real world, through validation with new data, performed quite well. © 2022 IEEE.

Machine Learning (ML) is gaining a more important role in cellular networks. Mobility management can be improved using ML due to its complexity and criticality to network performance. Managing mobility while maintaining the network connection is very important because the user's movement may disrupt their data transmission. In some cases, the traditional mobility management algorithm is not reliable enough. Here is where ML may provide a more intelligent mobility management algorithm. ML implementation in the cellular network requires a major modification in the network element software logic and architecture. This may cause difficulties in real-world implementation. Open Radio Access Network (O-RAN) consortium provides a modular solution to implement ML algorithms by adding an optional Radio Intelligent Controller (RIC) to host the intelligent application without major modification to the existing network elements. Using this RIC, a lot of intelligent use cases can be implemented modularly in the network. In this paper, we prove that the ML algorithm can be used to improve mobility management in some particular cases. As the experiment results, we demonstrated that machine learning has superior performance compared to the traditional handover algorithm. © 2022 IEEE.

One of the practicum learning facilities and media is to use props or trainers. In learning the protection system course at the electrical engineering department of Universitas Negeri Malang, learning only partially uses practicum-based learning methods due to limited supporting learning media. Therefore, this study aims to design, develop, and determine the feasibility level of load-shedding trainers as learning media for protection systems courses for students of the Electrical engineering Department, Universitas Negeri Malang. This study uses the development model which includes 10 stages of the procedure. The data collection method used instruments in the form of a questionnaire and the validation stage was carried out by two media experts, while product trials were carried out on 10 students and usage trials were carried out on 30 students. The data analysis technique of this research uses descriptive quantitative and descriptive qualitative data analysis techniques. The results of this study are in the form of learning media for load-shedding trainers equipped with job sheets. The validation results of the media expert 1 get 91.67% and the validation results of the media expert 2 get 89.58% so they are considered very valid and feasible. The results of the product trials conducted on 10 students obtained a percentage of 94.64% which was categorized as very feasible, and the results of the usage trials conducted on 30 students obtained a percentage of 93.21% which was categorized as very feasible. Based on the results of the media expert's assessment, product trials, and usage trials, the load-shedding trainer is suitable for use as a learning media for the subject of protection systems in the electrical engineering department, at Universitas Negeri Malang. © 2023 IEEE.

ISO 9001 is a standard for an organization that focuses on quality management. In ISO 9001, the organization must implement seven main clauses in achieving the certification or audit if the company has obtained ISO 9001 certification. One of the clauses is clause 6.2, which is related to quality objectives and focuses on process. The organization can achieve this clause if all SOPs in the organization are appropriately implemented. Therefore, if the SOP is well implemented, the process inside also runs well, and the quality objectives will be in line with the expectations. Manufacturing industry will be the case of the organization for this study. This study proposed a tracing system for the procedure in the SOP that used to achieve clause 6.2, quality objectives in ISO 9001. The database has an important role in system development because the system will store all information in it. Databases with conventional method have various weaknesses in data handling, such as centralized data storage and lack of security. Centralized data will make it difficult for each staff in the organization to access data if the main server is down. This study will focus on blockchain applied to traceability system as database technology because it can minimize the shortcomings of the database with conventional method. The results show that the data traceability system can trace procedures well and the data running well according to its function in storing data with blockchain. Based on these results, the traceability system in this study can trace procedures in achieving quality objectives in ISO 9001. © 2022 IEEE.

Advances in information technology and computer science have brought significant changes to various sectors of human life. In education, computers have helped ease a variety of human tasks, especially for large-scale and repetitive tasks such as essay grading. Current's computer capabilities make it possible to do essay scoring automatically. Research related to automatic essay scoring continues to develop by trying certain techniques and methods to improve the accuracy of automatic scoring close to that of human scoring. This systematic review aims to explore the 21st century applications of automated essay grading used in education. We carried out a bibliometric analysis of the meta data obtained from the SCOPUS database using the Bibliometrix and VOSviewer software reporting the main themes of implementing automated essay scoring applications in educational studies, providing an overview of the current state of the art and future directions of research and applications. Based on bibliometric analysis, we found that research related to automatic essay assessment in education has a fluctuating development trend and the current direction of AES research has used deep learning techniques such as long short-term memory, transfer learning and bert to build a better AES. © 2022 IEEE.

Insulator is one of the equipment that is very important in the distribution of electric power systems. Insulation is needed to separate two or more live electric conductors so that between these conductors there is no electric jump or spark. Because of the importance of the insulator in the electric power system, it must be maintained its fairness. Disturbance to the insulator is caused by several factors and is generally caused by external factors, namely environmental factors. The outdoor insulator is affected by these environmental factors and the effects of pollution from the environment. These environmental factors greatly affect the performance of the insulator. To improve the performance of insulators, several attempts have been made, such as the use of new materials, surface coatings to designs to increase dielectric strength. Systematic efforts to improve insulator performance require an understanding of insulator behavior. Insulator characteristics are divided into two, namely mechanical characteristics and electrical characteristics. © 2022 IEEE.

Data sparsity is one of the main problems in the Recommendation System (RS), especially in the Collaborative Filtering (CF). Matrix Factorization (MF) is one of the most popular CF methods used. However, when the rating data is sparse, the performance will decrease. In this study, a Collaborative Convolutional Autoencoder (CCA) is proposed, the content features of the paper are considered to assist MF in building a user-item matrix. Contextual information from the paper is represented using Sentence-BERT (SBERT) and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN). The proposed model is applied to real-world datasets. The results show that recall and Discounted Cumulative Gain (DCG) are higher overall in all experimental scenarios than baseline. The combination of SBERT and CNN was better at extracting contextual content from papers than baseline. As a result, the generated user-item matrix is more accurate and performance improves. Performance increases significantly when the data is used more sparse. This proves that the proposed model is more robust to data sparsity. © 2022 IEEE.
