In this study, a two-dimensional (2D) beam-switching 2×2 microstrip patch array antenna is designed and simulated, incorporating a novel strip-slot divider facilitating both-sided MIC technology. The proposed antenna is constructed on a 0.8 mm thick Teflon substrate with a 0.2 mm wide slot line in the ground plane for X-band applications. The slot line in the shape of a vertically flipped "T" and two parallel microstrip lines on the substrate form the hybrid junction at the center of the design. The design has six p-i-n diodes, two of which are along two straight microstrip lines feeding the patches and four of which are along the two delay lines. Depending on the diodes’ ON/OFF status and phase variations at the two input ports, the antenna can switch its beam to five unique directions along the ϕ = 0° and ϕ = 90° plane. The simulation findings show that the antenna has good matching at the resonance frequency of 10 GHz, having reflection coefficient and isolation values less than -10 dB, and can direct the beam to a maximum of ±15° and ±16° along ϕ =0° and ϕ =90° planes, respectively.

This paper introduces a single-stage grid-integrated solar photovoltaic (PV) system for water-pumping applications utilizing an induction motor drive (IMD). The system features a seven-level diode-clamped multilevel inverter (MLI) that directly converts DC power from the PV array to AC power for the motor, eliminating the need for a DC-DC converter. Maximum power point tracking (MPPT) is achieved through a perturb and observe (P&O) algorithm. On the other hand, direct torque control (DTC) with space vector modulation (SVM) ensures precise induction motor speed regulation. A key advantage is the bidirectional power flow capability between the PV array, motor load, and utility grid. This optimizes energy usage under varying solar irradiance and water demand conditions. Compared to conventional two-stage configurations, the proposed system demonstrates superior efficiency and power quality, presenting an effective solution for grid-connected solar water pumping applications.

Revolution comes all over the world. Road transportation has become the most valuable element of modern communication. With the increase in population, traffic jams and road accidents have become a massive issue. Most of the time, people can't get advanced traffic jam alerts. As a result, after moving into an area, we noticed a traffic jam. Because of the bad condition of the road and inappropriate transportation speed controlling system, most of the accident occurs. Considering these issues, we've developed such a system that will help us receive advanced traffic jam alert with the help of google distance matrix API and google direction API. It will also help to prevent an accident by showing the speed limit and accident causes probability in android applications using machine learning modules. The IoV (Internet of Vehicle) segment will help to detect the accident. It will notify to the nearest clinic with the help of the National Data Warehouse and GPS module. After any accident occurrence, our system will store accident reasons and accident time for future data analysis. This experimental approach shows 95% accurate results in an accident fact analysis. © 2022 ACM.

IoT-based technologies growing all over the world. After the industrial revolution, machines and robots gradually replaced human effort. In the absence of the human brain-machine and robots makes an error. In this paper, a plan was developed to get out of this situation that works not only efficiently but also thinks like humans. In this system, the machine will learn based on the situation that has been made by any occurrence. In this work Raspberry Pi-based system helps to make a proper analysis of the machines. Voltage, current, gas value, and temperate values are taken as input parameters. Machine learning matches/compares these real-time sensor data with training data (which is used to train the system). As a result, The machine learning module provides some statistics graphs of sensor data. Machine performance can analyze by observing these graphs. Also, determine the efficiency and predict the possibility of upcoming threats or risks. © 2022 ACM.

In Terahertz (THz) frequencies, using traditional phase delay components is extremely difficult, and graphene has the potential to be used in THz. Graphene is typically used at less than λ/16 dimensions. However, it can potentially change the properties of a unit cell in a reflectarray and act as an electronic phase-shifting element at λ/2 dimensions. Therefore, this paper proposes the design and application of graphene in unit cells to develop reflectarray beam steering. A metal-graphene hybrid structure is proposed in this work for designing the reconfigurable reflectarray antenna (RRA). The unit cell operating at 1.025 THz frequency consists of a thin graphene sheet as a phase-shifting element inside a golden ring, where graphene is used as the phase delay component. The variation in the chemical potential of graphene leads to changes in the reflection coefficient phase for each unit cell. A circular aperture array comprising a maximum of 489 elements shows a total of 80◦ beam-steering with side-lobe levels of less than −10 dB and a maximum gain of over 20 dBi. The −1 dB bandwidth of 12% was obtained at the centre frequency of 1025 GHz between 950 GHz and 1075 GHz. The aperture efficiency of the designed RRA is found to be 11%. This type of antenna could be an advent for the development of terahertz Reflecting Intelligent Surface (RIS). © 2025, Electromagnetics Academy. All rights reserved.

For speech signal transmission to be efficient and successful, which implies that the quality of the speech signal on the receiving end is satisfactory, it is crucial to ensure sufficient bandwidth and transmission speed. In this regard, Visible Light Communications (VLC) could represent an adequate solution for speech signal transmission over visible light. Error detection and correction are digital communication techniques commonly applied for the reliable transmission of digital data over noisy communication channels, and their application in VLC is of great importance. In this paper, the quality of the speech signal transmitted over the VLC system is assessed using the Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality (PESQ) and the Virtual Speech Quality Objective Listener (ViSQOL) metrics. The Hamming and Reed-Solomon (RS) channel coding techniques are analyzed, and experiments showed that using both coding techniques resulted in a speech signal quality improvement. © 2023 IEEE.

A multiband antenna is a good choice to keep the device as compact as possible. This study introduces a tripleband antenna that is well-suited for 5G New Radio applications, satellite communications, and WiMAX. The antenna design has a two-layer substrate, including a ring-slotted rectangular superstate. To meet the design requirements, a rectangular superstate was used to provide the antenna with its triple-band capabilities. The antenna's triband capabilities come from its rectangular superstate, constructed using a ring slot at every antenna's four patch corners. In addition, it is advised and used to employ two FR-4 substrates that are 1.5 millimeters each to improve the antenna's efficacy substantially. The three frequencies shown by the results of the antenna modeling cover the frequency range used by 5G NR service operations: 4.780 GHz, 5.50 GHz, and 10.75 GHz. In each operational range, the measured reflection coefficient has a value below -10 dB at the frequency center, while the peak gains surpass 7 dBi. Nevertheless, the antennas provided in this context exhibit a broad spectrum of applications within the realm of wireless communication. © 2023 IEEE.

In 5G Network, Cloud Radio Access Network (C-RAN) plays a substantial role in escalating network performance efficiency. Nevertheless, this C-RAN concept's main challenge lies in the need for a fronthaul network to handle high capacity and low delay. The Radio over Fiber (RoF) has been a solution to satisfy the high capacity and high-speed transmission required by the 5G fronthaul network. Keeping the attenuation effect low to achieve the minimum BER by using the optical amplifier is necessary. This paper investigates RoF by considering amplifier placement and different bitrate with 16-QAM modulation for Indonesia's 5G Fronthaul Network Implementation. Optical amplifier placement scenarios are pre-amplifier and booster amplifier. The results show that the booster amplifier scheme can cover a maximum fronthaul transmission distance of 20 km. As a comparison, the pre-amplifier scheme can reach a transmission distance of up to 15 km. Moreover, increasing the bitrate from 1 Gbps to 2.5 Gbps causes the BER value to increase. This result shows that different optical amplifiers and the increase in bit rate will affect the obtained BER values and limit the transmission distance that the fronthaul network can achieve. © 2022 IEEE.

Accurate displacement calculation in the laminated iron cores of electric machines is important for the accurate prediction of noise generation in the electric machines. The authors proposed a modeling method of displacements due to magnetostriction in the laminated iron core using a homogenization model with equivalent anisotropic magnetic and elastic parameters. The calculated displacements obtained from the homogenization model are compared with those of the real laminated iron core model, and the solid core model neglecting the laminated structure. The homogenization model shows good agreement with the real model. © 2023 IEEE.
