In this paper,a Backstepping Global Integral Terminal Sliding Mode Controller(BGITSMC)with the view to enhancing the dynamic stability of a hybrid AC/DC microgrid has been *** proposed approach controls the switch-ing signals of the inverter,interlinking the DC-bus with the AC-bus in an AC/DC microgrid for a seamless interface and regulation of the output power of renewable energy sources(Solar Photovoltaic unit,PMSG-based wind farm),and Battery Energy Storage *** proposed control approach guarantees the dynamic stability of a hybrid AC/DC microgrid by regulating the associated states of the microgrid system to their intended *** dynamic stabil-ity of the microgrid system with the proposed control law has been proved using the Control Lyapunov Function.A simulation analysis was performed on a test hybrid AC/DC microgrid system to demonstrate the performance of the proposed control strategy in terms of maintaining power balance while the system’s operating point ***,the superiority of the proposed approach has been demonstrated by comparing its performance with the existing Sliding Mode Control(SMC)approach for a hybrid AC/DC microgrid.

This research addresses the surge in global bandwidth demand triggered by digitalization, focusing on the necessity of bidirectional TWDM PON technology for highspeed internet access in industrial zones. The objective involves the design of a TWDM-PON network with an asymmetric data rate protocol, a 1:64 splitter ratio, four spectrum channels, and a minimum distance of 40 km. The proposed design follows ITUT G. 9804 standards and simulation using OptiSystem. This study evaluates downstream and upstream schemes. The integration of an erbium-doped fiber amplifier enhances downstream and upstream performance, while a semiconductor optical amplifier improves upstream results. The effects of dispersion compensation fiber on dispersion compensation are also scrutinized in this research. © 2024 IEEE.

5G network technology represents a significant evolution in the world of telecommunications that requires high- speed data delivery, especially in the fronthaul network, to support radio access to users. Millimeter waves (mmWave) have a range from 30 to 300 GHz with a total bandwidth of 250 GHz, capable of providing high-speed and low-latency radio transmission. This research discusses a millimeter wave-based radio-over-fiber system and optimizes the dispersion on the system using fiber Bragg grating (FBG). The Radio over Fiber circuit with FBG in the middle of the transmission path and with FBG after the transmission path, the downstream scheme has demonstrated compliance up to 20 km for a peak bit rate of 20 Gbps, and the upstream has reached up to 20 km for a peak bit rate of 10 Gbps. This technique can improve signal transmission by compensating the dispersion. © 2024 IEEE.

Cities often face difficulties in developing optical technology infrastructure due to the dense existing infrastructures. In addition, there is an increasing demand for data transmission, which requires a better and more flexible telecommunications system design solution. This research proposes a hybrid design between fiber optics and free space optics (FSO) that utilizes 4 WDM channels (wave division multiplexing) to improve capacity. The performance of the proposed design is simulated using Optisystem, and the Q factor and BER parameters are used to evaluate the effectiveness of the design. Several scenarios are conducted, including fiber optic distance, FSO medium distance, and attenuation within the FSO medium. The system's results show positive output, with the best performance achieved at 7 km of fiber optic distance, 1500 m of medium FSO distance, and the least attenuation factor. The proposed design reaches a Q factor of up to 8.2 and a BER minimum of as low as 10-21. These results indicate that fiber optic distance, FSO medium distance, and attenuation in FSO medium are factors that affect system performance. In general, the proposed design is capable of performing as a wide-bandwidth-efficient system for point-to-point communication in cities. © 2024 IEEE.

Polymeric optical fiber (POF) is a flexible and transparent plastic fiber used in various applications, including for a sensing system in automobile brake systems. This research study proposed the design and analysis of a plastic optical fiber network for automobile brake systems. The method is to utilize the light emitted from the vehicle's backlight, which is then captured by the brake system detector. The design employs an optical communication system because of its advantageous features, such as high-speed data transmission and communication reliability. The power budget of the link is analyzed through theoretical calculations and simulations. The proposed system can achieve a Q factor of 8.29 and a power margin of 11.26 dB. This condition indicates that the proposed design can function properly in terms of data transmission and sufficient transmitted power. © 2024 IEEE.

The demand for a better and more capable telecommunication system continues to increase as other technologies advance. telecommunication systems are facing a major problem in order to achieve higher capacity. To address this problem, a more capable system with higher capacity, yet reliable is required. This research offers a solution to this problem by improving the Fiber-FSO system using WDM technology. The key is to achieve larger capacities using multiple canals in the WDM method. This research proposes the usage of the 4 canal WDM component (193.1-193.4 THz) for the Fiber-FSO system. The design of the WDM Fiber-FSO system using EDFA and FBG proposed in this research reaches up to 80 Gb/s of data rate. This result is significantly higher when compared to other regular Fiber-FSO systems. One of many implementations of this system is the interbuilding communication system. For this implementation, a long-range system is necessary. This research provides an interbuilding communication system with fiber optic range extending up to 10 km per side and FSO media range reaching up to 10 km. The performance of the system will be measured mainly using the Q factor and minimum BER. At normal attenuation of 1 dB/km, the proposed design system reaches the best result averagely when given 10 dBm of power input. The average performance result in this scenario reaches Q Factor 6.78 on average. This performance result is in accordance with the standard given for the proposed design with the Q factor that requires the value of 6. The proposed design will be tested in several weather conditions in metropolitan cities, with attenuation in the FSO media reaching 20 dB/km for the worst conditions. The result of the design test under several conditions shows that the system will need to sacrifice the FSO media range as conditions worsen to achieve acceptable results. © 2024 IEEE.

The Timau National Observatory has been established as an alternative solution to the now less-than-ideal conditions at the Boscha Observatory. In addition to optical telescopes, the National Observatory will also feature a radio telescope that requires infrastructure that enables fast and secure data transmission free from radio signal interference. This research proposes a fiber optic network design using XGSPON technology with speeds up to 10 Gbps to facilitate data transfer to BPON as the operational control office. From the design and simulation results, the performance analysis parameters for the link power budget met the threshold of -28 dB, the value of the rise time budget was below 0.07 ns, the factor Q was above 6, and the BER threshold of 10-9 was achieved with a transmitter power of 11 dBm (class E2), due to the long distance and uneven terrain that require a high transmitter power. The system design analysis revealed that the link power budget, the rise time budget, the Q factor, and the BER parameters all meet the standards set by ITU-T G-9807.1. © 2024 IEEE.

The advancement toward fifth-generation (5G) networks heralds a transformative era in the mobile sector, poised to revolutionize various intelligent automation applications and the Internet of Things (IoT), With its rapid connectivity and minimal latency, 5G is a crucial driver for innovations in IoT, AI, autonomous vehicles, virtual reality, and beyond. Millimeter wave (mmWave) technology is emerging as a key enabler for 5G, offering high-capacity, high-mobility, and long-range communication capabilities. Among the potential of 5G, Radio over Fiber (RoF) technology emerges as a solution to address the demands of 5G by seamlessly integrating wireless communication with optical fiber transmission systems, offering bandwidth, transmission capacity, and economic benefits. Evaluating critical parameters such as the Q factor, bit error rate (BER), and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) over optical spans up to 20 km, the study highlights the importance of semiconductor optical amplifier integration (SOA). The incorporation of SOA as a post-amplifier enhances signal robustness, improving Q factor and BER while managing SNR, ultimately meeting ITU standards, and ensuring signal integrity in 5G environments. © 2024 IEEE.

This study discusses the Wavelength Division Multiplexing-based Free-Space Optics (WDM-FSO) communication system over HAPs for 5G applications. It aims to evaluate the potential of this system in meeting the need for reliable 5G connectivity. Through simulations using OptiSystem, the research explores the implementation of HAPs with a focus on uplink connectivity between ground stations and HAPs. The study examines the influence of line coding, transmission power, atmospheric conditions, and altitude on the Log-Bit Error Rate (Log-BER) and system quality factor (Q-Factor). The results show that RZ line coding is effective in altitude variations, while NRZ is better in weather variations. Power variations do not show significant changes in line coding. This research illustrates the potential of WDM-FSO technology on HAPs to support reliable wireless connectivity in the future. ©2024 IEEE.

Digital transformation requires significant high data rate transmission for broadband access, including optical fiber networks. Increasing the data rate is a technique to provide more capacity linearly;however, its major challenge is dispersion, which limits its capacity in shorter distances. This research proposed an optical network design with a bitrate observation of 16 Gbps and 12.5 Gbps, respectively, for downstream and upstream in a single-channel passive optical network by applying the dispersion compensation fiber (DCF) to compensate for the dispersion of a 1: 64 splitting ratio. The results show that the compensating component improves the Q factor, which means that the dispersion can be suppressed. Without using DCF, the maximum downstream distance to meet the target is 30 km with a Q-Factor of 6.07. With DCF, a downstream distance of 40 km is still feasible, as the Q-Factor at 40 km is 7.06. Meanwhile, the upstream system shows unreachable performance in the transmission. Different considerations on data rate, input power, and other factors may contribute to the upstream results. More investigations are necessary to provide an upstream performance that achieves the expected condition. © 2024 IEEE.
