According to the miniaturization characteristics of step impedance resonators, a step impedance bandpass filter with a center frequency of 16.55 GHz and a bandwidth of 500MHz is designed. The effects of parameter changes such as substrate resistivity and the shape of metal via etching on the performance of the filter are studied. Finally, the filter is fabricated and its performance is tested under MEMS technology.

This paper presents a type of variable rate syndrome-trellis codes (VR-STC) for bursty channels. It can embed message bits with two different embedding rates. In the embedding, a cover vector is sliced into segments, and the embedding rates for each segment depend on the local channel distribution. The parities of stego segments are exploited to indicate the selected embedding rates according to a mapping function between parities and embedding rates. The core of the VR-STC is the parity-aware encoder, which can simultaneously output two candidate stego segments with different embedding rates and opposite parities, either of which can be used to constitute the final stego vector. A Viterbi algorithm is also suggested to find the closed stego segments. Besides, the mapping function between parities and embedding rates is designed by minimizing the embedding costs on a down sampled version of the cover vector. It can further improve the undetectability of the VR-STC. Experimental results on artificial signals and binary images suggest that the proposed VR-STC can provide high success rate of embedding and reduce the embedding cost on bursty channels. © 2021, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

In recent years, deep neural networks have been widely concerned by researchers in facial expression recognition. However, insufficient facial training data of the public available database is a major challenge in deep learning, which will lead to an obvious decrease in the effectiveness of learning result; many data augmentation techniques have thus been widely used to enrich the training dataset. In this paper, we introduce a contextual loss function to construct a Contextual Generation Adversarial Network with one generator and one discriminator. The proposed method can map the neutral expression to six basic expressions to expand the database. The experimental results on CK + and KDEF databases show that the proposed method can effectively improve the ability to extract facial features and the ability to generate higher quality images. The data augmentation used the proposed method improves the recognition rate of facial expressions on KDEF and CK + datasets.

Remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) using a simple consumer-level webcam has great potential for healthcare, human-computer interaction, affective computing, and many other fields. However, traditional methods based on the skin reflection model and signal processing achieved limited success. Thus, this paper presents a novel end-to-end spatial-temporal convolutional neural network for the rPPG recovering task: To preserve the details, the pooling layer is moved to the branch network, and the attention mechanism is used to enhance the backbone network performance. Moreover, the ConvLSTM was used to learn the relationship between frames. The manual features extraction and signal post-processing steps can be omitted through our end-to-end neural network. The experimental results conducted on PURE and COHFACE datasets show that the proposed method significantly improved the quality of the recovered rPPG signal.

In a recent publication (Tzvetanov (2018), bioRxiv 465807), I made an extensive analysis with computational modelling and psychophysics of the simple experimental design of Dr. *** (Tadin, Lappin, Gilroy and Blake (2003), Nature, 424:312-315) about motion perception changes in humans due to size and contrast of the stimulus. This publication sparked from strong claims made in Schallmo et al. (2018) (eLife, 7:e30334) about two important points: (1) "divisive normalization", not inhibitory and excitatory mechanisms, creates the observed psychophysical results and (2) drug-enhanced inhibition showed perceptual outcomes that hint to "weaker suppression" (i.e. inhibition) not stronger "suppression". Schallmo & Murray (2018, bioRxiv, 495291) presented concerns about my extensive publication, specifically about the parts where I directly analysed some of their methods, results and claims. Here, I show that their concerns do not provide clear answers to my specific points and further do not mention other major critiques of data interpretation and modelling of this experimental design. Therefore, I maintain all my claims that were elaborated in details in my first publication (Tzvetanov, 2018, bioRxiv 465807): the specific ones that analyse the results of their and other studies, but also the more broad modelling that is applicable to any study using the simple experimental design of Dr. ***. Mapping of IP(Intellectual Property) cores onto NoC(Network-on-Chip) architectures is a key step in NoCbased designs. Energy is the key parameter to measure the designs. Therefore, we propose an Improved Simulated Annealing Genetic Alogrithm, abbreviated as ISAGA. The algorithm combines the parallelism of Genetic Algorithm(GA) and the local search ability of Simulated Annealing(SA). We improve the initial population selection of GA to get the lower power consumption mapping scheme. The experimental results show that compared with the GA, ISAGA has good convergence and can search the optimal solution quickly, which can effectively reduce the power consumption of the system. In the case of 124 IP cores, the average power consumption of the ISAGA is reduced by 32.0% compared with the GA.

Accurate fault locating reduces power outage time and operational costs. In this paper, a novel phasor domain transmission line fault locating algorithm is proposed. Best implementation requires GPS synchronized measurements at both terminals of the line. First, the model of the transmission line with fault is constructed using three phase distributed parameter modeling with neutral conductors and grounding representation. The model is without the assumption that the transmission line is geometrically balanced. Next, the state estimation algorithm is utilized to solve the model of the transmission line with fault, where the fault location is included as a state. Numerical experiments demonstrate that the method has higher accuracy than traditional fault locating methods, independent of fault types, locations and impedances.

With the rapid progress of deepfake techniques in recent years, facial video forgery can generate highly deceptive video contents and bring severe security threats. And detection of such forgery videos is much more urgent and challenging. Most existing detection methods treat the problem as a vanilla binary classification problem. In this paper, the problem is treated as a special fine-grained classification problem since the differences between fake and real faces are very subtle. It is observed that most existing face forgery methods left some common artifacts in the spatial domain and time domain, including generative defects in the spatial domain and inter-frame inconsistencies in the time domain. And a spatial-temporal model is proposed which has two components for capturing spatial and temporal forgery traces in global perspective respectively. The two components are designed using a novel long distance attention mechanism. The one component of the spatial domain is used to capture artifacts in a single frame, and the other component of the time domain is used to capture artifacts in consecutive frames. They generate attention maps in the form of patches. The attention method has a broader vision which contributes to better assembling global information and extracting local statistic information. Finally, the attention maps are used to guide the network to focus on pivotal parts of the face, just like other fine-grained classification methods. The experimental results on different public datasets demonstrate that the proposed method achieves the state-of-the-art performance, and the proposed long distance attention method can effectively capture pivotal parts for face forgery. Syntactically constrained bidirectional-asynchronous approach for emotional conversation generation

Traditional neural language models tend to generate generic replies with poor logic and no emotion. In this paper, a syntactically constrained bidirectional-asynchronous approach for emotional conversation generation (ESCBA) is proposed to address this issue. In our model, pre-generated emotion keywords and topic keywords are asynchronously introduced into the process of decoding. It is much different from most existing methods which generate replies from the first word to the last. Through experiments, the results indicate that our approach not only improves the diversity of replies, but gains a boost on both logic and emotion compared with baselines.
