Scalable graph neural networks (GNNs) have emerged as a promising technique, which exhibits superior predictive performance and high running efficiency across numerous large-scale graph-based web applications. However, (i) Most scalable GNNs tend to treat all nodes with the same propagation rules, neglecting their topological uniqueness;(ii) Existing node-wise propagation optimization strategies are insufficient on web-scale graphs with intricate topology, where a full portrayal of nodes' local properties is required. Intuitively, different nodes in web-scale graphs possess distinct topological roles, and therefore propagating them indiscriminately or neglecting local contexts may compromise the quality of node representations. To address the above issues, we propose Adaptive Topology-aware Propagation (ATP), which reduces potential high-bias propagation and extracts structural patterns of each node in a scalable manner to improve running efficiency and predictive performance. Remarkably, ATP is crafted to be a plug-and-play node-wise propagation optimization strategy, allowing for offline execution independent of the graph learning process in a new perspective. Therefore, this approach can be seamlessly integrated into most scalable GNNs while remaining orthogonal to existing node-wise propagation optimization strategies. Extensive experiments on 12 datasets have demonstrated the effectiveness of ATP. © 2024 ACM.

The coronavirus emanated in Wuhan city of China, in the last month of 2019 and was even announced as a global threat. Social media could be an utterly noteworthy supply of facts during a time of crisis. User-generated texts yield perception into users' minds withinside the direction of such times, giving us insights into their critiques in addition to moods. This venture examines Twitter messages (tweets) regarding people's sentiment on the unconventional coronavirus. The essential aim of sentiment evaluation is the origin of human emotion from messages or tweets. This venture is geared toward using numerous gadgets studying type algorithms to expect the people's reception of the worldwide pandemic by reading their tweets on Twitter. In the course of this paper, we are testing our dataset on five different classifiers, namely Random Forest, Logistic regression, Multinomial naive Bayes, K-nearest neighbor, and Support vector machines classifiers. Together with precision rankings and balanced accuracy rankings, metrics are offered to gauge the fulfilment of the numerous algorithms implemented. The K-Nearest Neighbor classifier has given the highest precision score while the Logistic Regression classifier gives the highest recall, F1, accuracy and balanced accuracy scores. © 2022 IEEE.

Relation prediction in knowledge graphs (KGs) aims at predicting missing relations in incomplete triples, whereas the dominant embedding paradigm has a restriction on handling unseen entities during testing. In the real-world scenario, the inductive setting is more common because entities in the training process are finite. Previous methods capture an inductive ability by implicit logic in KGs. However, it would be challenging to preciously acquire entity-independent relational semantics of compositional logic rules and to deal with the deficient supervision of logic caused by the scarcity of relational semantics. To this end, we propose a novel graph convolutional network (GCN)-based model LogCo with logical reasoning by contrastive representations. LogCo firstly extracts enclosing subgraphs and relational paths between two entities to supply the entity-independence. Then a contrastive strategy for relational path instances and the subgraph is proposed for the issue of deficient supervision. The contrastive representations are learned for a joint training regime. Finally, prediction results and logic rules for reasoning are attained. Comprehensive experiments on twelve inductive datasets show that LogCo achieves outstanding performance comparing with SOTA inductive baselines. © 2022 Association for Computational Linguistics.

The emerging edge-cloud collaborative Deep Learning (DL) paradigm aims at improving the performance of practical DL implementations in terms of cloud bandwidth consumption, response latency, and data privacy preservation. Focusing on bandwidth efficient edge-cloud collaborative training of DNN-based classifiers, we present CDC, a Classification Driven Compression framework that reduces bandwidth consumption while preserving classification accuracy of edge-cloud collaborative DL. Specifically, to reduce bandwidth consumption, for resource-limited edge servers, we develop a lightweight autoencoder with a classification guidance for compression with classification driven feature preservation, which allows edges to only upload the latent code of raw data for accurate global training on the Cloud. Additionally, we design an adjustable quantization scheme adaptively pursuing the tradeoff between bandwidth consumption and classification accuracy under different network conditions, where only fine-tuning is required for rapid compression ratio adjustment. Results of extensive experiments demonstrate that, compared with DNN training with raw data, CDC consumes 14.9× less bandwidth with an accuracy loss no more than 1.06%, and compared with DNN training with data compressed by AE without guidance, CDC introduces at least 100% lower accuracy loss. © 2020 Inst. Reverse-Nearest-Neighbor-Based Clustering by Fast Search and Find of Density Peaks

Clustering by fast search and find of density peaks(CFSFDP) has the advantages of a novel idea, easy implementation, and efficient clustering. It has been widely recognized in various fields since it was proposed in Science in 2014. The CFSFDP algorithm also has certain limitations, such as non-unified sample density metrics defined by cutoff distance, the domino effect for the assignment of remaining samples triggered by unstable assignment strategy, and the phenomenon of picking wrong density peaks as cluster centers. We propose reverse-nearest-neighbor-based clustering by fast search and find of density peaks(RNN-CFSFDP) to avoid these shortcomings. We redesign and unify the sample density metric by introducing reverse nearest neighbor. The newly defined local density metric and the K-nearest neighbors of each sample are combined to make the assignment process more robust and alleviate the domino effect. A cluster fusion algorithm is proposed, which further alleviates the domino effect and effectively avoids the phenomenon of picking wrong density peaks as cluster centers. Experimental results on publicly available synthetic data sets and real-world data sets show that in most cases, the proposed algorithm is superior to or at least equivalent to the comparative methods in clustering performance. The proposed algorithm works better on manifold data sets and uneven density data sets.

Relation clustering is a general approach for open relation extraction (OpenRE). Current methods have two major problems. One is that their good performance relies on large amounts of labeled and pre-defined relational instances for pre-training, which are costly to acquire in reality. The other is that they only focus on learning a high-dimensional metric space to measure the similarity of novel relations and ignore the specific relational representations of clusters. In this work, we propose a new prompt-based framework named MatchPrompt, which can realize OpenRE with efficient knowledge transfer from only a few predefined relational instances as well as mine the specific meanings for cluster interpretability. To our best knowledge, we are the first to introduce a prompt-based framework for unlabeled clustering. Experimental results on different datasets show that MatchPrompt achieves the new SOTA results for OpenRE. © 2022 Association for Computational Linguistics.

PANoptosis: Novel insights into AFB1-Induced reproductive toxicity and the chemopreventive potential of pterostilbene

Aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) is a well-known environmental pollutant which can negatively affect female reproductive function. Pterostilbene (PTE) exhibits diverse pharmacological properties. This study investigates whether PANoptosis, an emerging form of programmed cell death, contributes to ovarian damage induced by AFB1 exposure and whether pterostilbene offers protective effects. In addition to the wild-type (WT) group, female mice were exposed to AFB1, AFB1+PTE, and PTE daily for 28 days. AFB1 exposure resulted in follicular atrophy, an increase in atretic follicles, and a decrease in serum AMH and E2 levels. The histopathological and serological changes observed in the ovaries were restored to normal levels under supplementation with pterostilbene. The ovarian gene expression profile of mice altered by AFB1 and the inflammation and DNA damage caused by AFB1 were normalized by the application of pterostilbene. Meanwhile, PANoptosis executioner (MLKL and GSDME), as well as core members (IRF1 and AIM2), were activated alongside other signals (apoptosis, necroptosis, and pyroptosis). We propose that AFB1 disrupts ovarian function by inducing a complex cell death called PANoptosis. The application of pterostilbene plays a significant role in protecting the key molecules of PANoptosis from excessive activation and restores the expression of CYP and GST enzymes altered by AFB1. This study suggests that PANoptosis is a new insight into AFB1-induced reproductive toxicity and pterostilbene offers a potential treatment for protecting ovaries from toxicity. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd
