We present an interactive example-based system for non-expert users to generate 3D indoor scenes intuitively. From a set of examples of an interior scene, we extract furniture layout constraints including pairwise and group relationships, ergonomic factors and user habits. Instead of inserting a single furniture object to a visual pleasing and functional position independently, we take advantages of manipulating a group of functionality-related furniture objects for smart editing. To deal with the arrangement problem which requires jointly optimizing a variety of functional and visual criteria, we introduce an efficient two-step pipeline consisting of rough arrangement and layout refinement. In the rough arrangement step, furniture objects are roughly placed according to pairwise relationships for accelerating the further optimization process. In the layout refinement step, we optimize the rough furniture layout to a semantical and functional layout considering spatial relationships, and ergonomic factors and avoiding collisions. User interactions are also allowed to move a specific object or a structural group while our system automatically refines the entire layout. The experimental results demonstrate that our system for scene generation measurably increases the visual quality and time efficiency compared with the completely manual scene editing or modeling. © 2017 ACM.

Fully polarimetric synthetic aperture radar (PolSAR) technology performs well in oil spill detection because of its rich target scattering information. Aiming at the problem that oil spill detection scheme based on polarization feature and deep learning has large sample requirements and high information redundancy, we propose a classification scheme combining with RBFSVM classifier and VGG16 based on transfer network. The ability of our method to distinguish different oil films is analyzed through a radarsat-2 POLSAR image of the North Sea oil spill experiment. © 2021 IEEE.

Adaptive hypergraph convolutional network for no-reference 360-degree image quality assessment

In no-reference 360-degree image quality assessment (NR 360IQA), graph convolutional networks (GCNs), which model interactions between viewports through graphs, have achieved impressive performance. However, prevailing GCN-based NR 360IQA methods suffer from three main limitations. First, they only use high-level features of the distorted image to regress the quality score, while the human visual system (HVS) scores the image based on hierarchical features. Second, they simplify complex high-order interactions between viewports in a pairwise fashion through graphs. Third, in the graph construction, they only consider spatial locations of viewports, ignoring its content characteristics. Accordingly, to address these issues, we propose an adaptive hypergraph convolutional network for NR 360IQA, denoted as AHGCN. Specifically, we first design a multi-level viewport descriptor for extracting hierarchical representations from viewports. Then, we model interactions between viewports through hypergraphs, where each hyperedge connects two or more viewports. In the hypergraph construction, we build a location-based hyperedge and a content-based hyperedge for each viewport. Experimental results on two public 360IQA databases demonstrate that our proposed approach has a clear advantage over state-of-the-art full-reference and no-reference IQA models. Nowadays, the digital earth not only relates to the technologies of surveying and mapping geography, but also includes the analysis and cross-application of various scientific data related to geographic information. It requires a computing environment and management for the corresponding thematic application models which supports the online analysis on the digital earth. So we proposed an integrated deployment method for digital earth thematic application models based on container cloud, which provides a flexible and scalable information integration and analysis architecture for digital earth. Firstly, a Docker image building module is designed to facilitate the user to quickly build the application model into a image. Then the Docker technology is used to implement the containerization of the application model to provide a stable running environment for the application model. Finally, the Kubernetes is used to dynamically manage the cluster resources to realize rapid expansion of computing resources. In addition, the HDFS is deployed, and the image files and various scientific data respectively store with Hbase and Apache file systems. It can ensure the read and write speed of the application model and the related data and log files. It also used zabbix framework to manage the monitoring index of the container cloud cluster to ensure the execution effect of the application model. Through the tests of typical application model, it is verified that the method can integrated deploy and apply the cross-domain, hetero-architecture, multi-version and multi-class application models on the digital earth. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

In this paper, A SAR image simulation code of 3D complex targets named caspatch is introduced. This code is based on the high frequency technique of shooting and bouncing rays (SBR). The original purpose to design the code is for SAR automatic target recognition (ATR) applications, but it can also be used for RCS prediction and high resolution range profile (HRRP) generation. A GB-SAR indoor experiment is used to validate the caspatch system. The simulation results of complex targets show that high resolution, full polarimetry and wide bandwidth SAR images can be obtained via caspatch, which means our code can support multiple SAR ATR applications. What's more, an improved PolSAR ATR algorithm is also proposed in this paper. The full PolSAR ATR experiment based on simulated data is firstly reported in this paper, and higher recognition rate is achieved comparing with the single PolSAR result. ©2009 IEEE.

Compared with traditional SAR working modes, multi-aspect SAR can provide images with higher resolution and signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) due to its larger synthetic aperture. However, the SNR does not increase with the increase of the aperture length. This is because the scattering is no longer isotropic as traditional SAR when the viewing angle is large. In this paper, an adaptive enhanced imaging method for multi-aspect SAR is proposed. The resolution and the SNR are maximized by scattering analysis performed simultaneously with imaging. In the process of image generation, the scattering characteristic is analyzed and all targets are divided into two categories: isotropic and anisotropic. Then different image formation strategies are used for isotropic and anisotropic target. A C-band circular SAR data is used to validate our method. © 2021 IEEE.

Sliding spotlight mode is widely used in spaceborne SAR to achieve high resolution. However, due to the difficulty for antenna beam to scan continuously, it usually works by step scanning, which leads to paired-echo in SAR images. Meanwhile, the pointing of the antenna often deviates from the preset value when scanning, resulting in an increase in the amplitude of the paired echo. This paper works on the effect of beam stepping control and pointing deviation on image quality of Ka band spaceborne sliding spotlight SAR. Firstly, the azimuth echo signal in sliding spotlight mode under the beam stepping control and pointing deviation is modeled. Then, the influence of beam stepping control and pointing deviation is analyzed by using the paired-echo theory, and the quantitative relationship between beam granularity and pointing deviation and paired-echo is presented. Finally, the validity of the theoretical analysis is verified by computer simulation. The method in this paper provides a reliable basis for the design of parameters in spaceborne sliding spotlight SAR system. © 2022 IEEE.

An unsupervised image-to-image translation (UI2I) task deals with learning a mapping between two domains without paired images. While existing UI2I methods usually require numerous unpaired images from different domains for training, there are many scenarios where training data is quite limited. In this paper, we argue that even if each domain contains a single image, UI2I can still be achieved. To this end, we propose TuiGAN, a generative model that is trained on only two unpaired images and amounts to one-shot unsupervised learning. With TuiGAN, an image is translated in a coarse-to-fine manner where the generated image is gradually refined from global structures to local details. We conduct extensive experiments to verify that our versatile method can outperform strong baselines on a wide variety of UI2I tasks. Moreover, TuiGAN is capable of achieving comparable performance with the state-of-the-art UI2I models trained with sufficient data. © 2020, Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

The development of airborne laser radar technology and cloud data processing technology provides a new technical means for the acquisition and processing of geospatial 3D data. Based on the self-developed LiDAR UAV, this paper proposes a new point cloud automatic classification method (TL-PCACM) of transmission lines by using the improved fast 3D convex hull construction algorithm, k-means clustering analysis algorithm and Region-growing algorithm, which have high classification accuracy, good classification effect and fast processing speed. The accuracy of point cloud automatic classification is over 95%, the efficiency can reach 60 km/h. The proposed method is applied to the analysis of tree obstacles under transmission lines. The efficiency of the automatic identification of tree obstacles can reach 720 towers/hour. The accuracy can reach 50 cm. It provides high efficiency, high quality, fully automatic and intelligent data processing method for the classification of tree obstacles, effectively improving the processing accuracy and speed of geospatial 3D information data. © 2019, Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Users’ download history is a primary data source for analyzing user interests. Recent work has shown that user interests are indeed time varying, and accurate profiling of user interest drifts requires the temporal dynamic analyses. We have proposed a visualization approach to analyzing user interest drifts from the download history, taking music as an example, and studied how to depict the underlying relevances among the downloaded music items to identify the drifts. We designed three new kinds of plots to display the music download history of one user, namely Bean plot, Transitional Pie plot, and Instrument plot. In this paper, we report our conducted user studies that ask normal users to visually analyze the download history of other users in a given realworld data set. User studies are performed in a learning-practice-test workflow. The results demonstrate the feasibility of our visualization design. © Springer International Publishing Switzerland 2016.
