| The demand for sophisticated tools and approaches in heat management and control has triggered fast development of emerging fields including conductive thermal metamaterials, nanophononics, far-field and near-field radiative thermal management, etc. In this review, we cast a unified perspective on the control of heat transfer, based on which the related studies can be considered as complementary paradigms toward manipulating physical parameters and realizing unprecedented phenomena in heat transfer using artificial structures, such as thermal conductivity in heat conduction, thermal emissivity in radiation, and properties related to multi-physical effects. The review is divided into three parts that focus on the three main categories of heat flow control, respectively. Thermal conduction and radiation are emphasized in the first and second parts at both macro- and micro-scale. The third part discusses the efforts to actively introduce heat sources or tune the material parameters with multi-physical effects in both conduction and radiation, including works using thermal convection. We conclude the review with challenges in this research topic and new possibilities about topological thermal effects, heat waves, and quantum thermal effects. Copyright © 2020, The Authors. Determining stable equilibria of spatial objects and validating the results with drop simulation

Robotic pick and place processes require the workpieces to be prepositioned and aligned to a fixed pose. This ensures the accurate grasping, but lacks flexibility and efficiency. Camera based solutions are available for simple workpieces, but no simple solution exists for complex ones. We offer a universal software, that determines the stable equilibrium poses of the workpiece from 3D model, and renders the top view image of it. This image can be compared to one captured by a single camera setup to determine the workpiece position and orientation in realtime for robotic application. The results are validated applying drop test simulation.

A Lyapunov approach to stability analysis of partial synchronization in delay-coupled networks⁎

Networks of interconnected dynamical systems may exhibit a so-called partial synchronization phenomenon, which refers to synchronous behaviors of some but not all of the systems. The patterns of partial synchronization are often characterized by partial synchronization manifolds, which are linear invariant subspace of the state space of the network dynamics. Here, we propose a Lyapunov-Krasovskii approach to analyze the stability of partial synchronization manifolds in delay-coupled networks. First, the synchronization error dynamics are isolated from the network dynamics in a systematic way. Second, we use a parameter-dependent Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional to assess the local stability of the manifold, by employing techniques originally developed for linear parameter-varying (LPV) time-delay systems. The stability conditions are formulated in the form of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) which can be solved by several available tools. © 2018

Tongue image segmentation is a crucial step in developing an automatic tongue diagnosis system. After exploring characteristics of image thresholding in different color spaces, we propose a simple and effective tongue image segmentation method. Specifically, the proposed method first extracts an initial tongue body region by performing image thresholding on the transformed hue component in HSI (Hue, Saturation, and Intensity) color space. Then, one of two image thresholding results on the red component of an original tongue image is adaptively selected to find the gap region between the tongue body root and the upper lip. Finally, the initial tongue body region is refined by removing fake object regions such as the upper lip to obtain final tongue image segmentation result. Experimental results on a tongue image dataset containing 200 subjects demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. © 2018 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.

目的:建立和验证一个涉及多级临床场景的白内障协作通用的人工智能(artificial intelligence,AI)管理平台,探索基于AI的医疗转诊模式,以提高协作效率和资源覆盖率。方法:训练和验证的数据集来自中国AI医学联盟,涵盖多级医疗机构和采集模式。使用三步策略对数据集进行标记:1)识别采集模式;2)白内障诊断包括正常晶体眼、白内障眼或白内障术后眼;3)从病因和严重程度检测需转诊的白内障患者。此外,将白内障AI系统与真实世界中的居家自我监测、初级医疗保健机构和专科医院等多级转诊模式相结合。结果:通用AI平台和多级协作模式在三步任务中表现出可靠的诊断性能:1)识别采集模式的受试者操作特征(receiver operating characteristic curve,ROC)曲线下面积(area under the curve,AUC)为99.28%~99.71%);2)白内障诊断对正常晶体眼、白内障或术后眼,在散瞳-裂隙灯模式下的AUC分别为99.82%、99.96%和99.93%,其他采集模式的AUC均>99%;3)需转诊白内障的检测(在所有测试中AUC>91%)。在真实世界的三级转诊模式中,该系统建议30.3%的人转诊,与传统模式相比,眼科医生与人群服务比率大幅提高了10.2倍。结论:通用AI平台和多级协作模式显示了准确的白内障诊断性能和有效的白内障转诊服务。建议AI的医疗转诊模式扩展应用到其他常见疾病和资源密集型情景当中。

With the increase of various online learning platforms, lots of electronic coursewares (e-courseware) are uploaded to the Internet platform for users' learning and sharing. Constructing the summarization for e-courseware through extracting the content of e-courseware is of great importance for users to select and utilize e-courseware for the self-learning process. But the information extraction algorithm for e-courseware has not been fully studied on the Internet Platform. This paper proposes a new method for extracting courseware information based on automatic summarization, and then applies it to generate automatically the summarization covering the knowledge content of e-courseware on the Internet platform. Based on the analysis of e-courseware structure, the method uses the extractive and abstractive automatic digest algorithm to deal with the text of a single slide, and then calculates the similarity of two sentences outputted by the two algorithms to determine the final key information, finally organizes the summarization of e-courseware based on the extracted key information. The experimental results show that the algorithm has a good performance in the summarization and generalization of text information for e-coursewares, which is conducive to the generation of learning notes for users so as to quickly understand the content of e-courseware.

Automotive Software Testing is a vital part of the automotive systems development process. Not identifying the critical safety issues and failures of such systems can have serious or even fatal consequences. As the number of embedded systems and technologies increases, testing all components becomes more challenging. Although testing is expensive, it is important to reduce bugs in an early stage to maintain safety and to avoid recalls. Hence, the testing time should be reduced without impacting the reliability. Several studies and surveys have prioritized Automotive Software Testing to increase its effectiveness. The main goals of this study are to identify: (i) the publication trends of prioritization in Automotive Software Testing, (ii) which methods are used to prioritize Automotive Software Testing, (iii) the distribution of studies based on the quality evaluation, and (iv) how existing research on prioritization helps optimize Automotive Software Testing. Expected for many promising applications in the field of electronics and optoelectronics, a reliable method for the characterization of graphene electrical transport properties is desired to predict its device performance or provide feedback for its ***, the commonly used methods of extracting carrier mobility from graphene field effect transistor or Hall-bar is time consuming, expensive, and significantly affected by the device fabrication process other than graphene *** we reported a general and simple method to evaluate the electrical transport performance of graphene by the van der Pauw–Hall *** annealing graphene in vacuum to remove the adsorbed dopants and then exposing it in ambient surroundings, carrier mobility as a function of density can be measured with the increase of carrier density due to the dopant re-adsorption from the ***, the relationship between the carrier mobility and density can be simply fitted with a power equation to the first level approximation, with which any pair of measured carrier mobility and density can be normalized to an arbitrary carrier density for *** experimentally demonstrated the reliability of the method, which is much simpler than making devices and may promote the standard making for graphene characterization.

Modern power systems are evolving into sociotechnical systems with massive complexity, whose real-time operation and dispatch go beyond human capability. Thus,the need for developing and applying new intelligent power system dispatch tools are of great practical significance. In this paper, we introduce the overall business model of power system dispatch, the top level design approach of an intelligent dispatch system, and the parallel intelligent technology with its dispatch applications. We expect that a new dispatch paradigm,namely the parallel dispatch, can be established by incorporating various intelligent technologies, especially the parallel intelligent technology, to enable secure operation of complex power grids,extend system operators' capabilities, suggest optimal dispatch strategies, and to provide decision-making recommendations according to power system operational goals.

Chronic care manages long-term, progressive conditions, while acute care addresses short-term conditions. Chronic conditions increasingly strain health systems, which are often unprepared for these demands. This study examines the burden of conditions requiring acute versus chronic care, including sequelae. Conditions and sequelae from the Global Burden of Diseases Study 2019 were classified into acute or chronic care categories. Data were analysed by age, sex, and socio-demographic index, presenting total numbers and contributions to burden metrics such as Disability-Adjusted Life Years (DALYs), Years Lived with Disability (YLD), and Years of Life Lost (YLL). Approximately 68% of DALYs were attributed to chronic care, while 27% were due to acute care. Chronic care needs increased with age, representing 86% of YLDs and 71% of YLLs, and accounting for 93% of YLDs from sequelae. These findings highlight that chronic care needs far exceed acute care needs globally, necessitating health systems to adapt accordingly. © 2025. The Author(s).
