CF-AMVRGO: Collaborative Filtering based Adaptive Moment Variance Reduction Gradient Optimizer for Movie Recommendations

In recent decades, recommendation systems are used in a variety of applications like social connections, movies, music, and venues. The existing algorithms has certain limitations like data sparsity, cold start problem, and poor scalability to degrade the movie recommendation performance. To address the aforementioned concerns, a new matrix factorization-based collaborative filtering algorithm is developed to enhance movie recommendation performance. In a neural collaborative filtering algorithm, an adaptive moment variance reduction gradient optimizer is applied in low-rank matrix factorization for representing the users and items in a low dimensional latent space to obtain effective movie recommendation performance. In this paper, the proposed algorithm performance is evaluated on three benchmark datasets;movielens 100K, 1M, and 10M datasets. Simulation results showed that the proposed algorithm obtained the difference of 0.08 and 0.056 roots mean square error value in movielens 1M and 10M datasets, which are better compared to the existing collaborative filtering-based deep learning algorithm. © 2022 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Traffic sign detection and recognition (TSDR) is a crucial technology to realize vehicle autonomous driving and maintain road safety. Misdetection or misclassification of traffic signs can lead to serious traffic accidents. Therefore, it is essential to ensure the correctness of traffic sign detection and recognition systems. However, most existing methods use labeled data, but it isn't easy to obtain labeled data. The metamorphic testing can reduce the dependence on the labeled data, but the current metamorphic relations do not consider the domain characteristics of traffic signs, so it is difficult to effectively detect traffic sign detection and recognition systems faults. To solve the above problems, this paper introduces metamorphic testing to verify traffic sign detection and recognition systems and designs and implements a tool, MTSDR, which provides a series of metamorphic relations in the traffic domain. It can generate many follow-up test images based on these metamorphic relations and automatically performs tests for evaluation, focusing on practical failure situations. The experimental evaluation was carried out on four advanced traffic sign detection and recognition models on open datasets. The results show that MTSDR can generate natural images and find thousands of traffic sign detection and recognition faults. Compared with the previous methods, our method has a higher fault detection capability, and the highest fault detection rate reaches more than 40%. In addition, it finds that retraining the traffic sign detection and recognition models using the images that found the fault can improve the model's performance, reduce its fault, and reduce the fault rate by 11.77% on average. © 2023 IEEE.

Industrial Cyber-Physical (ICP) systems are integration of computation and physical processes to help achieve operational excellence. As sensors and actuators compose the openly deployed ICP systems and are often susceptible to interference, it puts forward higher requirements on reliability. Reliable coverage ensures sensors acquiring information and therefore coverage reliability of sensor network is studied from various perspectives. However, most existing reliability evaluation methods ignore the belief degree of coverage which influences the reliability to an extent. To evaluate the coverage reliability from the perspective of belief degree, we firstly define Confident Information Coverage Belief Reliability (CICBR) based on the Confident Information Coverage (CIC) model and D-S evidence theory, which comprehensively considers the coverage rate, interference from the environment, and belief degree of the result. Next, to evaluate the belief degree more reasonably, an Evidence-discount-based basic probability assignment generating method is proposed based on D-S theory to describe the interference in the belief degree. Moreover, a belief evaluation algorithm is proposed to calculate the belief degree of the coverage. Finally, an evidence-Discount-based Confident Information Coverage Belief Reliability Evaluation (D-CICBRE) algorithm is proposed to evaluate CICBR. The simulation result indicates that the proposed method can obtain higher and more reasonable reliability. Therefore, the proposed D-CICBRE algorithm can be used to evaluate the reliability of ICP systems more accurately and reasonably. © 2023 IEEE.

Temporal Graph Neural Network (TGNN) has attracted much research attention because it can capture the dynamic nature of complex networks. However, existing solutions suffer from redundant computation overhead and excessive off-chip communications for TGNN inference because they often rely on redundant graph sampling and repeatedly fetching the features and vertex memory. This paper proposes a redundancy-free accelerator, RTGA, for high-performance TGNN inference. Specifically, RTGA proposes a redundancy-aware execution approach with temporal tree into a novel accelerator design to effectively eliminate unnecessary data processing for fewer redundant computations and off-chip communications and also designs a temporal-aware data caching method to improve data locality for TGNN. We have implemented and evaluated RTGA on a Xilinx Alveo U280 FPGA card. Compared with cutting-edge software solutions (i.e., TGN and TGL) and hardware solutions (i.e., BlockGNN and FlowGNN), RTGA improves the performance of TGNN inference by an average of 473.2x, 87.4x, 8.2x, and 6.9x and saves energy by 542.8x, 102.2x, 9.4x, and 8.3x, respectively. © 2024 Copyright is held by the owner/author(s). The epidemic growth of the Internet of Things (IoT) objects have revolutionized Maritime Transportation Systems (MTS). Though, it becomes challenging for the centralized cloud-centric framework to fulfil the application requirements such as low latency and power utilization. The introduction of the distributed edge-centric framework has recently helped the IoT-enabled MTS to meet these requirements by manipulating the tasks at the edge of the networks. Despite the fact that MTS leverages mobile subscribers by overcoming inherent cloud computing limitations, data security and user privacy requirements in establishing the MTS setup are still non-trivial challenges. In this article, we develop a key agreement solution for mobile users to realize mutual authentication in a single round. Our protocol offers user anonymity to maintain user privacy, and it can prevent physical attacks by physically unclonable functions. Initially, the security analysis is conferred to substantiate our protocol's security persistence or strength. Later, its performance correlation is observed under the assumption of diverse metrics in a predefined empirical setup. The meticulous performance correlation endorses the precedence of our protocol over specified related protocols. © 2000-2011 IEEE.

The rise of smart cities is directly connected to the increasing use of vehicles. The growing vehicle utilization has driven the emergence of Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs), facilitating instant information exchange among vehicles. The system provides essential information regarding road conditions, traffic patterns, and more relevant data. VANETs encompass two fundamental categories of communication exchanges, namely Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) and Vehicle-to-Infrastructure (V2I). V2I technology facilitates the integration of cars and transportation infrastructure, enabling effective communication between vehicles and infrastructure. Nevertheless, the potential of V2I communication has various security concerns arising from prevalent security threats. Current authentication techniques encounter challenges regarding complexity, security, and privacy considerations. We designed a hash-based lightweight and anonymous authentication scheme to address the aforementioned restrictions and enhance the effectiveness of authentication in V2I architecture. This scheme effectively combines identity, password, and bio-metric to enhance resistance against impersonation, denial of service, and privileged insider attacks. The devised scheme distinguishes itself by a comparative analysis and security proofs, highlighting its superior capability in guaranteeing secure authentication in V2I communication. The comprehensive security analysis conducted formally and informally showcases the robustness of the proposed solution against several threats. The performance evaluation results show that our scheme demonstrates a decrease in the computational cost of 51.40% approximately and a reduction in communication overhead of around 22.57%. These results establish the efficiency and scalability of the proposed scheme as a viable solution for V2I architecture. © 2000-2011 IEEE.

With the widespread use of language models (LMs) in NLP tasks, researchers have discovered the potential of Chain-of-thought (CoT) to assist LMs in accomplishing complex reasoning tasks by generating intermediate steps. However, human thought processes are often non-linear, rather than simply sequential chains of thoughts. Therefore, we propose Graph-of-Thought (GoT) reasoning, which models human thought processes not only as a chain but also as a graph. By representing thought units as nodes and connections between them as edges, our approach captures the non-sequential nature of human thinking and allows for a more realistic modeling of thought processes. GoT adopts a two-stage framework with an additional GoT encoder for thought graph representation and fuses the graph representation with the original input representation through a gated fusion mechanism. We evaluate GoT's performance on a text-only reasoning task (AQUA-RAT) and a multimodal reasoning task (scienceQA). Our model achieves significant improvement over the strong CoT baseline on the AQUA-RAT test set and boosts accuracy from 85.19% to 87.59% using the T5-base model over the state-of-the-art Multimodal-CoT (Zhang et al., 2023) on the scienceQA test set. The idea of a dazzling metropolis has drawn interest from all across the world. New innovations like blockchain, IoT, artificial intelligence, robots, and many other things were added to it. In this research, we will look into how CEOs in affluent cities use and value robots, especially in terms of security. We examined how to leverage cutting-edge technologies in this project to make it feasible. Artificial intelligence, robotics breakthroughs, and blockchain technologies all have significant effects. This research highlights their significance to analysts and how they consider them when assessing prospects.
