This working-in-progress paper aims to present a three-dimensional reconstruction using aerial images in different environments. Preventing agricultural resource loss caused by pests remains a crucial issue. While technological advancements are being achieved, the current agricultural management methods and equipment have yet to meet the required level for precise pest control, a huge portion of the pest population analysis process is still conducted manually. As a solution to this issue, the development of a White Rice Stem Borer pest detection system has been conducted by applying Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) technology to calculate the pest population count at the research location. This system has been specifically designed to detect the White Rice Stem Borer using available traps. The method involves training data from a direct dataset obtained from the field, categorized into two positive and negative classes of the White Stem Borer pests. Six models have been trained from this dataset, utilizing two different architectures. Out of the six trained models, four showed potential overfitting, one exhibited underfitting, and one model demonstrated optimal results. The highest accuracy in image detection achieved by the most optimal CNN model was 97.35%, with a training accuracy of 98.54%. This best-performing model utilized an architecture with three Convolution layers, 50 Epochs, and an automatic data split with an 80:20 training-validation data ratio. From the research findings, it is concluded that this study can assist in automatically analyzing the quantity of White Stem Borer pests in a specific area without directly counting the number of pests from existing traps. However, the study still encounters a limitation-the detection process still requires substantial server resources and cannot be directly processed on the Raspberry PI device installed in the trap. Consequently, the detection relies on transmitting image data from the field device to the server before the detection process can occur. © 2024 The Authors.

The voice patterns of gender and age have been used as speaker's identity and implied into sectors such as smart cards, healthcare, banking, and other security access controls. However, age, illness, and ambient noise factors exist challenging issues of voice changes in speech recognition systems to be resolved. This paper presents experiment results of observing those issues, and its goal was obtaining the elements of voice features to secure the speaker's identity. Mel-frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC) was used to conduct observations on spectral centroid and bandwidth, it has effectively performed capturing features of individual speech signal. The experiment was conducted with data split into three groups: under 13, range 13 to 19, and above 19 years old for both male and female. The results showed that both gender under 13 have centroid voices reached to 98%, age of 13 to 19 remain with centroid reached 98% of bandwidth for male and passing over 100% for female, then above 19 for both genders speak lower with centroid 50% of bandwidth, and male above age of 19 remains to keep centroid about 50% and female changes to 95%. MFCC fits to expose the speech spectrum for the purpose of an analysis frame on specific local spectral properties of voices, and the finding is to form a security line or an individual profiling adoption. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper considers a cloud streaming game using WebRTC. Since the cloud streaming game consists of a server and a client, the network quality between them affects the game. Among the network quality degradation factors, we focus on delay jitter. We reduce the effect of the jitter by buffering. We conduct a subjective experiment of a single-player action game and evaluate application-level QoS and QoE. We investigate the impact of buffering on the video and audio quality of the user playing the game.

This research-to-practice paper describes developing and analyzing state-of-the-art smart boots created by combining CAD technology and advanced 3D printing techniques to attract students in bio-engineering and related fields. The primary objective of this innovative immobilization boot is to expedite fracture recovery phases through an ergonomic design to ensure optimal patient comfort during its use. Technological solutions are crucial in aiding the rehabilitation process for fractures caused by falls, heavy lifting, or rotational trauma. However, cost and comfort-related issues persist, underscoring the need for alternative approaches. This research addresses these challenges and delves into the broader implications of fracture treatment, catalyzing future projects and investigations in bioengineering. Additionally, this study serves as an educational tool that sparks the interest of high school and engineering students, promoting multidisciplinary collaboration in innovation. By involving students in specialized courses covering 3D design, human bone anatomy, biology, and materials science, this initiative empowers them to deepen their knowledge and develop new technologies to address bone injury problems. Material analyses include evaluating the type of material depending on the fracture site, such as PLA for printing and cotton and silicone gel for the midsection between the splint and the body. This research aims to advance our understanding of the type of fracture, the methods associated with their treatment, and tissue repair processes during bone callus formation. To summarize, this multidisciplinary approach drives advancements in bio-engineering and related fields, aiming to enhance patient outcomes and inspire students to pursue further research in bio-engineering and related fields. Despite the potential benefits that the integration of distributed energy resources (DERs) can bring to the system, it may cause problems related to power quality constraints, such $as$ reverse power flow in substation and overvoltages. An effective approach to address these problems involves the adoption of reactive and active power control in grid-tie inverters associated with DER. Therefore, this paper assesses the impacts of grid-tie inverter control modes, including both Volt-Var and Volt-Watt strategies, on the DER hosting capacity. In order to improve the overall system operation, modifications in the Volt-Var and Volt-Watt curves were proposed. It is noteworthy that these control strategies can have adverse effects on certain distribution system performance indicators, such $as$ voltage deviation and power losses;for this reason, these indicators are also evaluated in this study. A stochastic approach was adopted to deal with the uncertainties associated with DERs and loads. Finally, from tests conducted in the IEEE 33-bus test system, it was concluded that the proper adjustment of the Volt-Var and Volt-Watt control curves significantly influences DER hosting capacity, $as$ well $as$ voltage deviation and power losses. © 2023 IEEE.

Localization and Perception for Control of a Low Speed Autonomous Shuttle in a Campus Pilot Deployment

Future SAE Level 4 and Level 5 autonomous vehicles will require novel applications of localization, perception, control and artificial intelligence technology in order to offer innovative and disruptive solutions to current mobility problems. Accurate localization is essential for self driving vehicle navigation in GPS inaccessible environments. This thesis concentrates on low speed autonomous shuttles that are mainly utilized for university campus intelligent transportation systems and presents initial results of ongoing work on developing solutions to the localization and perception challenges of a university planned pilot deployment orientated application. The paper treats autonomous driving with real time kinematics GPS (Global Positioning Systems) with an inertial measurement unit (IMU), combined with simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) with three-dimensional light detection and ranging (LIDAR) sensor, which provides solutions to scenarios where GPS is not available or a lower cost and hence lower accuracy GPS is desirable. The in-house automated low speed electric vehicle from the Automated Driving Lab is used in experimental evaluation and verification. An improved version of Hector SLAM was implemented on ROS and compared with high resolution GPS aided localization framework in the same hardware architecture. The overall configuration that combines ROS with DSpace controller can be easily transplantable prototype in other hardware architectures for future similar research. Real-world experiments that are reported here have been conducted in a small test area close to the Ohio State University AV pilot test route. are used for demonstrating the feasibility and robustness of this approach to developing and evaluating low speed autonomous shuttle localization and perception algorithms for control and decision making. © 2024, CC BY.

The aluminium processing industry relies on cold rolling as a crucial method for producing materials essential to everyday life. As a consequence of thickness reduction: Strip Breakage, which is one of the main degraders in the aluminum rolling process, arises. In more recent related studies, data were mainly chosen by experts, which can sometimes hide crucial causal factors. Therefore, this work develops Machine Learning models to predict strip breakage, by investigating the relationship between features and the breakage event, using attribute selection techniques to reduce the dimensionality of the problem, comparing classification methods based on trees, such as Decision Trees (DT), Random Forest (RF) and Extra Trees (ET). This work uses the following methodology: first, the models were evaluated for the complete set of data with default initial parameters, then a new evaluation of the models was carried out with the optimized parameters still with high data dimensions, and finally, an evaluation was carried out of the models with the best-selected attributes. The model that performed best was the DT with 21 attributes, with a recall or TPR (True Positive Rate) of 0.863 and an AUC (Compute Area Under of ROC Curve) of 0.926. The models also indicated that there is no unique cause that characterizes the breaks in the aluminium cold mill, but several others, such as the effect of the rolling mill, coil history domain, oil mill and lamination cylinders.

Indonesia will benefit from a demographic boom in 2030 with a higher labor supply than in earlier decades. Then in industrial revolution 4.0 robotics and artificial intelligence will take the place of low-skilled or menial employment that don't require specialized expertise (AI). To aim research is Telematics Work Field Review Text Classification Using the Naïve Bayes Method. The method using Multinomial Naïve Bayes model which is trained to learn from patterns in training data set without being programmed explicitly. Then, based on the Term Frequency - Inverse Document Frequency, consider the weighting of the word used (TF-IDF). The text classification stage is then carried out using the multinominal nave bayes classification method with evaluation using the confusion matrix, following the acquisition of the TF-IDF value. In the study it took data with web crawling techniques on social media sites twitter. The data collected was 936 data consisting of 7,8% negative sentiments, 26,4% positive sentiments, and 65,8% neutrals. The results of accuracy testing using the Confusion Matrix. And from the results of such tests resulted in an accuracy of 66%, precision 73%, and recall 85%. © 2022 IEEE.

Learning to assemble geometric shapes into a larger target structure is a pivotal task in various practical applications. In this work, we tackle this problem by establishing local correspondences between point clouds of part shapes in both coarse- and fine-levels. To this end, we introduce Proxy Match Transform (PMT), an approximate high-order feature transform layer that enables reliable matching between mating surfaces of parts while incurring low costs in memory and compute. Building upon PMT, we introduce a new framework, dubbed Proxy Match TransformeR (PMTR), for the geometric assembly task. We evaluate the proposed PMTR on the large-scale 3D geometric shape assembly benchmark dataset of Breaking Bad and demonstrate its superior performance and efficiency compared to state-of-the-art methods.
