To protect privacy, Park et al. proposed a blockchain-enabled privacy-preserving scheme (BPPS) to achieve demand response in the smart grid environment. Park et al. claimed that their scheme could resist various attacks and ensure both of privacy and data integrity. However, with thorough analysis of their scheme, we find that it suffers from three flaws.

The rapid advancement of AI has led to the rise of Audio Deepfakes (AD), which pose serious ethical and security concerns by accurately mimicking human speech. This research addresses the urgent need for effective AD detection, with a focus on gender bias that can reduce the effectiveness of detection models. We examined how gender affects the performance of both Machine Learning (Support Vector Machine, Random Forest, Logistic Regression, XGBoost) and Deep Learning (Deep Neural Networks, Convolutional Neural Networks) models using the GBAD dataset. Our findings show that models trained on female audio outperform those trained on male audio, likely due to the expressive nature of female voice features and high-pitched artifacts in FAKE audio. This highlights the need for more robust, gender-sensitive detection systems. Future work should focus on developing adaptive models to reduce gender bias, improving security, and creating lightweight models for wider public use.

At present, most of the domestic and foreign research on vehicle recognition focuses on real-time camera recognition in front of the vehicle while driving and real-time camera recognition over the road for overhead camera angles. For roads in mountainous areas or special terrain, due to the small hinterland on the left and right side of the road, it is not easy to set up overhead camera systems for the road. Therefore, this thesis proposes 'Yolo_v4-based road vehicle recognition' to solve the above problem. Unlike the overhead camera system, this side camera detachable temporary road vehicle recognition system only needs a very small road hinterland and can reduce the cost of space construction. The Yolo_V4 deep learning algorithm can accurately identify different vehicle types to ensure road safety and traffic monitoring. In this study, the accuracy of the vehicle recognition model for the side camera angle is 96%, which is comparable to the accuracy of the vehicle recognition model for the top camera angle. © 2022 IEEE.

Price and quality level of products are two important decisions of any business. This paper provides equilibrium solutions for these decisions of two players for a cybersecurity ecosystem, including a solution provider and an information provider. We assume that end users join a cybersecurity ecosystem based on the prices and qualities of the solution provider’s and information provider’s products;so that, the increasing of the prices or/and decreasing the qualities will reduce the number of end-users of that ecosystem. Also, it is assumed that there is an exogenous information-sharing program under which the effect of quality of the information provider’s product on the cybersecurity level depends on the level of information-sharing. Under this information-sharing program, the equilibrium solutions of prices and qualities of these two players are given. In this paper, we describe the Graphics Processing Unit (GPU) implementation of our City-LES code on detailed large eddy simulations, including the multi-physical phenomena on fluid dynamics, heat absorption and reflection by surface and building materials, cloud effects, and even sunlight effect. Because a detailed simulation involving these phenomena is required for analyses at the street level and several meters of resolution, the computation amount is enormous, and ordinary CPU computation cannot provide sufficient performance. Therefore, we implemented the entire code on GPU clusters with large-scale computing. We applied OpenACC coding to incrementally implement relatively easy programming and eliminate data transfers between the CPU and GPU memories. Based on this research, we determined that the elimination of data transfers is effective, even in the case where a part of the code execution on the GPU is slower than the CPU, owing to the absence of spatial parallelism. The objective of this study is to perform a complete climate simulation on a few square-kilometers field around the Tokyo Station, considering the finest resolution of the original highlighted area of the Marathon race in the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020. We successfully transferred the entire code to the GPU to provide approximately eight times the performance of CPU-only computation on multi-GPU per node with a large scale cluster. © 2022, IFIP International Federation for Information Processing.

With a growing demand for new technologies, concepts such as the Internet of Everything (IoE) - in which smart sensors (humans and machines) connect, communicate, and share information from the surrounding environment - are gaining notoriety. Thus, this study focuses on developing a knowledge flow model in the IoE scenario for Smart Cities, including how knowledge is disseminated in these intelligent environments in human-to-machine interactions. The study considers a knowledge-based taxonomy defined for IoE environments and supports the full realization of IoE applications through a knowledge management strategy. The proposed IoE Knowledge Flow Model contributes to identification of knowledge flows related to IoE architecture layers in smart city applications. © 2022 IEEE.

Virtual reality has become a new option to inform the customers about product before purchasing. However, providing virtual reality may create new challenges. For instance, consumers may obtain essential information about products by using virtual reality option, but eventually they buy their products from the offline channel. This phenomenon is called webrooming. Another challenge is cyber-attacks. E-tailers and their consumers face risks from cyber-attacks. Thus, e-tailers are investing to improve cybersecurity. We consider a dual-channel supply chain consisting of an offline retailer and an e-tailer who purchase the same product from a manufacturer at the same wholesale price. The e-tailer offers a partial refund policy in order to attract the customers. Also, to reduce consumer valuation uncertainty, the e-tailer faces the decision on whether to introduce virtual reality. We analyze three scenarios. Firstly, the e-tailer does not offer virtual reality. Secondly, the e-tailer offers virtual reality, but he does not invest on cybersecurity. Thirdly, the e-tailer offers virtual reality and invests on cybersecurity. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Electrodermal activity (EDA) is a general term for all electrical phenomena occurring on the skin, both passive and active. EDA measurements are used by researchers to measure levels of stress, emotion, mental strain, and so on. Measuring human stress levels, emotions, and mental strain are generally associated with the skin conductance response. The function GSR sensor is not only used to read people’s psychology but also can be used as a pain sensor used to read the degree of pain in the skin. This pilot study uses sample data from ***. The *** data is galvanic skin response sensor data. The output of this sensor is the conductivity value that occurs in the skin. The data obtained from *** will be extracted using the mean, standard deviation, maximum, minimum, RMS, skewness, and peak-to-peak characteristics. The extracted functions are selected using the forward selection method. The results of the feature selection are three features with an accuracy percentage greater than 50%, namely the mean feature, the RMS feature, and the skewness feature. The machine learning models used are bagged tree, SVM, and K-NN models. Of the three models used, the bagged tree model has the highest accuracy rate, at 98.05%, with an F1 score is 0.9807. The KNN model with k=10 has the lowest level of accuracy compared to other models, at 96.75%.

The voice patterns of gender and age have been used as speaker's identity and implied into sectors such as smart cards, healthcare, banking, and other security access controls. However, age, illness, and ambient noise factors exist challenging issues of voice changes in speech recognition systems to be resolved. This paper presents experiment results of observing those issues, and its goal was obtaining the elements of voice features to secure the speaker's identity. Mel-frequency Cepstral Coefficient (MFCC) was used to conduct observations on spectral centroid and bandwidth, it has effectively performed capturing features of individual speech signal. The experiment was conducted with data split into three groups: under 13, range 13 to 19, and above 19 years old for both male and female. The results showed that both gender under 13 have centroid voices reached to 98%, age of 13 to 19 remain with centroid reached 98% of bandwidth for male and passing over 100% for female, then above 19 for both genders speak lower with centroid 50% of bandwidth, and male above age of 19 remains to keep centroid about 50% and female changes to 95%. MFCC fits to expose the speech spectrum for the purpose of an analysis frame on specific local spectral properties of voices, and the finding is to form a security line or an individual profiling adoption.
