Characteristic variability induced by process variation effect (PVE) is one of technological challenges in semiconductor industry. In this work, we computationally study electrical characteristic and power fluctuations induced by six factors of PVE of the gate-all-around (GAA) silicon (Si) nanosheet (NS) complementary field-effect-transistors (CFETs) which are formed by vertically stacking n-FET on top of p-FET. Among the six factors, NS thickness (TNS), NS width (WNS), and gate length (LG) are identified as crucial factors contributing to large variations in device characteristics. The p-FET exhibits substantial off-state current fluctuation (about 151%) due to the bottom parasitic channel leakages. Compared with the magnitudes of dynamic and short circuit powers, the static power is marginal, but it possesses the largest fluctuation (up to 148%). If we assume that each factor of PVE has the same probability distribution as the others and all are mutually independent, the statistical sum of their power fluctuations will exhibit more than 50% overestimations, compared with the results when all factors are considered simultaneously. © 2020 IEEE.

This systematic review provides a comprehensive overview of the methods used to integrate genomic and clinical data in cancer prediction. The review includes 19 studies across various cancers, including breast, colorectal, melanoma, lung, pancreatic, and thyroid. The studies employed different methods to combine genomic and clinical data, including weighted polygenic risk scores, genetic and non-genetic risk scores, and different machine learning algorithms. The results show significant improvements in model prediction performance accuracy across multiple studies. The review highlights the potential benefits of integrating genetic and phenotypic information to improve disease risk prediction models and inform personalized healthcare strategies.

Amorphous indium gallium zinc oxide (a-IGZO)-based thin film transistors (TFTs) are increasingly becoming popular because of their potential in futuristic applications, including CMOS technology. Given the demand for CMOS-compatible, ultra-scaled, reliable, and high-performing devices, we fabricate and analyze scaled-channel a-IGZO-TFTs with an optimal double-gate structure, a thin nanosheet-based channel, and an effective high- κ dielectric namely HfO2. The reliably reported double gate IGZO nanosheet TFTs (DG-IGZO-NS-TFTs) are tested under positive and negative bias stress at variant temperatures, and the resulting modulations are analyzed critically. The reported DG-IGZO-NSTFTs exhibit a negative side threshold voltage shift (Δ Vth) accompanied by an increase in Ion/Ion(0) under negative bias temperature stress (NBTS) at elevated temperatures, which indicates the presence of additional charges. An anomalous negative side shifting of the Vth is observed under positive bias temperature stress (PBTS), where diffused hydrogen atoms are identified as introducing excess n-type carriers into the channel and causing the observed Δ Vth. The spectroscopic analysis is performed to establish evidence for the assumed mechanisms, and the role of individual gates is investigated in the context of performance variance under temperature-bias stress. Moreover, the partial reversibility of the stress-induced degradation is experimentally established and methodically discussed. Overall, the reported results offer a comprehensive understanding of scaled-channel DG-NS-IGZO-TFTs, which help shape performance-enhancement strategies, control degradation mechanisms, and define appropriate application scenarios. © 2013 IEEE.

This paper focuses on a performance enhancement of communication performance by compressing data stream. ASE coding is an effective lossless data compression method for data stream. The software implementation of the coding/decoding method inevitably meets a performance mismatch in memory and storage devices. In the compressor side, it is predictable to decide the size of an original data block and is available to process a flexible buffer memory. However, the decompressor is not able to predict the buffer size because the original data size is not obvious before the decompression. This causes a performance mismatch in the filesystem level. This paper proposes a novel method to address the performance mismatch by applying a notification mechanism of compression size from the compressor. This paper describes the mechanism focusing on the system call usage. Through experimental evaluations, we show the performance improvement of the decompression performance for handling data stream.

IoT edge platform has become popular in various distributed environments. The edge devices need to communicate BigData among them or with the cloud servers by collaborating with AI technologies for finding events from the applications. Those devices exchange data streams from such as distributed sensors and remote image/video devices. We focus on an acceleration technique for the communication performance using a stream-based lossless data compression technology. This paper proposes a parallelization technique for the compression process in a software environment running on a multicore processor. The technique invokes concurrent compression processes assigned to multiple threads with splitting a data stream to chunks. The paper exposes three scheduling methods for assigning the chunks to the threads: in-order, hybrid and out-of-order. As an original data order of chunks must be obtained in decompression side, the proposed technique introduces packeting mechanisms in each chunk by adding headers to support the scheduling methods. Through experimental performance evaluations, we discuss the packeting overhead focusing on compression ratio and speedup by the parallelization with three scheduling methods.

In this paper we consider the filtering of partially observed multi-dimensional diffusion processes that are observed regularly at discrete times. We assume that, for numerical reasons, one has to time-discretize the diffusion process which typically leads to filtering that is subject to discretization bias. The approach in [16] establishes that when only having access to the time discretized diffusion it is possible to remove the discretization bias with an estimator of finite variance. We improve on the method in [16] by introducing a modified estimator based on the recent work of [17]. We show that this new estimator is unbiased and has finite variance. Moreover, we conjecture and verify in numerical simulations that substantial gains are obtained. That is, for a given mean square error (MSE) and a particular class of multi-dimensional diffusion, the cost to achieve the said MSE falls. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

An increasing number of platforms for Business Process Automation (BPA) have been developed in recent years, including open-source and proprietary solutions. However, there are still some unsolved problems and limitations related to the adoption of these solutions, which include: vendor lock-in, limited UI/UX, limited integration, outdated technology stack, and lack of support for non-process features. The framework presented in this paper addresses these problems and limitations by providing an open-source platform to facilitate the development of process-aware information systems (PAISs) based on code generation techniques. The platform is capable of generating a functional process-aware Web application from a business process model defined in BPMN. To the best of our knowledge, there is no other software tool that generates fully functional process-aware Web applications. The presented framework has been evaluated in the academy and industry and used to develop dozens of non-profit and commercial process-aware applications. The “swarm robotics” is a relatively recent field of study that investigates the ways in which several robot systems interact with one another throughout the course of time. The organization is able to accomplish its goals by delegating work to a large number of robots that are capable of doing activities that are beyond the capabilities of a single robot. This is accomplished via the use of a broad variety of different methods. It is possible to make use of optimization algorithms in robotic swarms in order to discover answers to difficult trans disciplinary challenges that are encountered in real-world environments. The fact that algorithms for swarm intelligence are able to adjust to changing circumstances makes the potential of this happening a reality. In order to achieve the highest possible level of performance, this study analyses a broad range of different swarm optimization algorithms that may be used to robotic swarm scenarios. This category contains a variety of methodologies, including PSO, GPSO, CSO, ACO, and GSO, among others. Within this section, a comprehensive analysis is provided for each of the strategies that came before it, and an inquiry into the potential future course of action for swarm optimization is furthermore carried out. The ramifications of these tactics are also discussed in this section, which is included in the overall debate.

The management of nurses' orders to a Peruvian hospital pharmacy faces efficiency challenges, which affects time spent on patient care. This context highlights the need for a system that optimizes this process. In this sense, a web-based system is proposed for the automation of orders from the nurse's cell phone, which uses a customized model for automatic speech recognition. The development of the system was divided into three stages: first, data collection with 21 orders placed by three nurses and 978 audio recordings to validate the automatic speech recognition model; second, implementation of the system allowing agile order processing; and finally, evaluation of results in terms of time and accuracy. The findings indicate that the processing time ranged from 37.70 to 60.15 seconds, representing a 97%-time reduction in operational tasks. In addition, the Word Error Rate was 10.51%, significantly lower than the 25.05% of Whisper Large V2. These results demonstrate the system's potential for adoption in various hospital contexts.

A Facial Emotion Recognition (FER) system is an important tool to be implemented in any psychology academic field and beyond. This paper aims to show a system of Facial Emotion Recognition that can be done using the multiple layers model of ResN et50 which is an ANN. The dataset is an array that consists of 7 different emotions represented by the numbers 0-6. The emotion included in the dataset is 'anger', 'disgust', 'fear', 'happiness', 'sadness', 'shock', and 'neutrality'. This research found that the highest accuracy in the application of the model was recorded at 65% and the test was 60% to recognize facial emotion from a graphical input. © 2021 IEEE.
