Feature extraction is the most critical step in classification of multispectral *** classification accuracy is mainly influenced by the feature sets that are selected to classify the *** the past,handcrafted feature sets are used which are not adaptive for different image *** overcome this,an evolu-tionary learning method is developed to automatically learn the spatial-spectral features for classification.A modified Firefly Algorithm(FA)which achieves maximum classification accuracy with reduced size of feature set is proposed to gain the interest of feature selection for this *** extracting the most effi-cient features from the data set,we have used 3-D discrete wavelet transform which decompose the multispectral image in all three *** selecting spatial and spectral features we have studied three different approaches namely overlapping window(OW-3DFS),non-overlapping window(NW-3DFS)adaptive window cube(AW-3DFS)and Pixel based *** Multiclass Support Vector Machine(MSVM)is used for classification *** con-ducted on Madurai LISS IV multispectral image exploited that the adaptive win-dow approach is used to increase the classification accuracy.

Biomedical image analysis has progressed significantly with the integration of artificial intelligence, presenting new opportunities for early diagnosis and treatment of diseases with high mortality rates, such as skin cancer. This research work introduces a novel Hybrid Attention Residual Deep Convolution Learning (HARDCL) Model designed to enhance the accuracy of skin lesion classification, which is often challenging due to the subtle characteristics of lesions. The HARDCL Network employs an innovative hybrid attention mechanism within a residual learning framework, effectively distinguishing between benign and melanoma skin lesions with a high degree of precision. The encoder-decoder network segments the lesion from dermoscopic images, followed by feature extraction and classification, achieving a maximum accuracy of 97.11%, precision of 98.10%, recall of 98.81%, and an F1-score of 98.45%. This performance surpasses conventional deep learning algorithms such as AlexNet, InceptionV3, and ResNet18, demonstrating the effectiveness of the attention-based features in identifying critical lesion characteristics. However, despite its strengths, the HARDCL Network’s computational intensity and the need for a substantial dataset for optimal training highlight areas for further refinement. The proposed network advances the field of skin cancer diagnostics, offering a robust tool for medical professionals and setting a foundation for future enhancements in automated biomedical image analysis techniques. © 2025 – IOS Press. We experimentally analyze the effect of the optical power on the time delay signature identification and the random bit generation in chaotic semiconductor laser with optical *** to the inevitable noise during the photoelectric detection and analog-digital conversion,the varying of output optical power would change the signal to noise ratio,then impact time delay signature identification and the random bit *** results show that,when the optical power is less than-14 dBm,with the decreasing of the optical power,the actual identified time delay signature degrades and the entropy of the chaotic signal ***,the extracted random bit sequence with lower optical power is more easily pass through the randomness testing.

Deep learning based video surveillance for predicting vehicle density in real time scenario

Video surveillance systems are often used for traffic monitoring and to characterize traffic load. However, most of the surveillance videos are low frame rated and extracting the right motion feature from them is a challenging task. Deep learning is a growing technology that extracts each object’s feature without human intervention. This paper proposes two different Convolutional Neural Networks (CNN) named Multi Scale Convolutional Neural networks (MSCNN) and Single Scale Convolutional Neural networks (SSCNN) to extract the features and prediction of traffic density. The experimental evaluation of the proposed models was carried out on the UCSD traffic dataset. Our method exploits the benefits of the redundant nature of traffic scenes that are captured from a top-down perspective showing vehicles on a road encircled by background objects. Though a variety of objects is present in each frame, our proposed method attempts to acquire information only about specific object features which helps to predict traffic density better in real-time scenarios. Based on the extracted features, each traffic scene is categorized into three different classes low, medium, and high. Also, the performance of the proposed architecture exhibits 12% more accuracy compared with the existing deep neural networks. Furthermore, in comparison with the MAE score, the proposed system is able to reduce the error from 1 to 0.3 than the existing models. In addition, the training and testing phases of the proposed approach consume considerably less time and optimized usage of CPU resources. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer-Verlag GmbH Germany, part of Springer Nature.

In the realm of low-level vision tasks,such as image deraining and dehazing,restoring images distorted by adverse weather conditions remains a significant *** emergence of abundant computational resources has driven the dominance of deep Convolutional Neural Networks(CNNs),supplanting traditional methods reliant on prior ***,the evolution of CNN architectures has tended towards increasing complexity,utilizing intricate structures to enhance performance,often at the expense of computational *** response,we propose the Selective Kernel Dense Residual M-shaped Network(SKDRMNet),a flexible solution adept at balancing computational efficiency with network accuracy.A key innovation is the incorporation of an M-shaped hierarchical structure,derived from the U-Net framework as M-Network(M-Net),within which the Selective Kernel Dense Residual Module(SDRM)is introduced to reinforce multi-scale semantic feature *** methodology employs two sampling techniques-bilinear and pixel unshuffled and utilizes a multi-scale feature fusion approach to distil more robust spatial feature map *** the reconstruction phase,feature maps of varying resolutions are seamlessly integrated,and the extracted features are effectively merged using the Selective Kernel Fusion Module(SKFM).Empirical results demonstrate the comprehensive superiority of SKDRMNet across both synthetic and real rain and haze datasets.

Attribute preserving recommendation system based on graph attention mechanism

A recommendation System (RS) is an emerging technology to figure out the user's interests and intentions. As the amount of data increases exponentially, it is hard to analyze the user intentions and trigger the recommendation accordingly. In this research work, a novel recommendation system called the Deep Knowledge Graph based Attribute Preserving Recommendation (DKG-APR) is presented to analyze massive data and provide personalized recommendations to users. The Deep Knowledge Graph for Recommendation System (DKG-RS) uses Deep Convolutional Neural Network (DCNN) and attention mechanism to explicitly model high-order connections in knowledge graphs. According to empirical findings, Knowledge Graph Attention Network (KGAT) performs better than other state-of-the-art recommendation techniques like RippleNet and Neural FM. Additional research demonstrates the effectiveness of embedding propagation for high-order relation modeling and the advantages of the attention mechanism for *** results also show that user information is crucial in the recommendation system, as seen from the optimal node-drop-out ratio of 0.2, which led to the best recall value of 0.2 for all datasets. © 2023 - IOS Press. The security of the wireless sensor network-Internet of Things(WSN-IoT)network is more challenging due to its randomness and self-organized *** detection is one of the key methodologies utilized to ensure the security of the *** intrusion detection mechanisms have issues such as higher misclassification rates,increased model complexity,insignificant feature extraction,increased training time,increased run time complexity,computation overhead,failure to identify new attacks,increased energy consumption,and a variety of other factors that limit the performance of the intrusion system *** this research a security framework for WSN-IoT,through a deep learning technique is introduced using Modified Fuzzy-Adaptive DenseNet(MF_AdaDenseNet)and is benchmarked with datasets like NSL-KDD,UNSWNB15,CIDDS-001,Edge IIoT,Bot *** this,the optimal feature selection using Capturing Dingo Optimization(CDO)is devised to acquire relevant features by removing redundant *** proposed MF_AdaDenseNet intrusion detection model offers significant benefits by utilizing optimal feature selection with the CDO *** results in enhanced Detection Capacity with minimal computation complexity,as well as a reduction in False Alarm Rate(FAR)due to the consideration of classification error in the fitness *** a result,the combined CDO-based feature selection and MF_AdaDenseNet intrusion detection mechanism outperform other state-of-the-art techniques,achieving maximal Detection Capacity,precision,recall,and F-Measure of 99.46%,99.54%,99.91%,and 99.68%,respectively,along with minimal FAR and Mean Absolute Error(MAE)of 0.9%and 0.11.

Privacy-preserving cross-domain recommendation using hybrid federated transfer learning

Cross-domain recommender systems, which serve as a panacea to data sparsity and cold-start problems, are increasingly vital for providing personalized content across diverse application domains like medicine, e-commerce, etc. This is accomplished by leveraging adequate ratings ad user profiles in one domain to ensure precise recommendations in another domain. However, the domains with good ratings are unwilling to share user ratings with third-party recommender systems/domains due to privacy-concern. It demands the need for privacy mechanism to transfer knowledge between domains securely. So, this research introduces the CrossRec-Hybrid Federated Transfer Learning (CrossRec-HFTL) framework to address cold start and privacy problems in a cross-domain recommendation system, which combines adversarial domain adaptation and federated learning to leverage user and item interactions from a labeled source domain to generate recommendations in an unlabeled target domain. CrossRec-HFTL uses a model architecture called CrossRec-CDAN, which consists of multiple generators and discriminators for domain adaptation. The generators produce user, item, and interaction embeddings, while the discriminators distinguish between source and target domain samples. Federated learning enables collaborative model training across multiple clients while maintaining data locality, further bolstered by encryption techniques for privacy preservation. The framework was evaluated on the Amazon dataset across three domain pairs: Home and kitchen to Office Products (HK → OP), CDs and vinyl to Digital Music (CDs → DM) and Digital Music to Music Instruments (DM → MI). The simulation findings reveal that CrossRec-HFTL outperforms baseline and modern recommendation models in terms of recommendation accuracy, achieving a very less RMSE of 0.82 and MAE of 0.58. Lung cancer relapse is very often found to affect patient prognosis and treatment outcomes potentially and may lead to more challenging management and poorer survival rates. Early prediction of relapse is necessary for timely intervention and personalized treatment plans and to handle the key effects of relapse on prognosis and treatment, such as prognosis and survival, treatment outcomes, impact on treatment strategies, psychosocial effects, and potential for clinical trials. With this motivation, this paper proposed Self-Organizing Maps (SOMs) to predict lung cancer relapse. The SOM technique is considered for predicting lung cancer relapse due to its dimensionality reduction, ability to recognize and cluster patterns, visual way to interpret complex medical data operation without the need for labelled training data, capability to handle non-linear relationships, adaptability to evolving data, and noise tolerance. It is investigated that this unsupervised learning technique clusters patients based on their clinical and pathological features, providing a valuable tool for identifying relapse-prone patients. The results reflect that the proposed approach attains high prediction accuracy by leveraging the clustering capabilities of SOMs and effectively classifying patients into relapse and non-relapse categories. It can be concluded that the SOMs have the potential to enhance early detection and personalized treatment of lung cancer relapse. © 2025 IEEE.
