Alloys are used in a wide variety of contexts, including aircraft building, the military, industry, medicine, and manufacturing. Alloys including tools, equipment, cars, and structures. Furniture, shipping containers, and medical supply storage containers are among products that benefit from the usage of aluminium alloys. To further enhance simultaneous heat transmission, scientists have developed nano-fluids, which are essentially nano-particle suspensions in a regular fluid. Ferric Sulfate may be added to soil to improve its quality and is also used to clean water. Iron (3+) sulphate is an iron (III) and sulfate (III) combination with a 3:2 ratio of iron (III) to sulfate (III) ions. As a catalyst, mordant, and astringent, it serves several purposes. It is a sulphate of a metal and a molecule of iron. Due of these purposes, we employ the K-K model to study how alloys and nanoparticles affect surface flow and heat transfer. By making use of the boundary layer approach and the flow assumptions, the partial differential equations (PDEs) were generated by approximating the Navier-Stokes equation. This system is transformed into ordinary differential equations (ODE's) using similarity transformations. Using the BVP4C method, a system with non-dimensions is defined. Mathematical and pictorial explanations are provided for the consequences of the key physical variables. It is founded that the magnitude of the temperature field is directly proportional to the R value;a higher value indicates more heat conduction to the liquid. Additionally, the velocity of the fluid lessened by the impact of melting effect. © 2024 The Author(s)

Enhancing Long-range Dependency with State Space Model and Kolmogorov-Arnold Networks for Aspect-based Sentiment Analysis

Aspect-based Sentiment Analysis (ABSA) evaluates sentiments toward specific aspects of entities within the text. However, attention mechanisms and neural network models struggle with syntactic constraints. The quadratic complexity of attention mechanisms also limits their adoption for capturing long-range dependencies between aspect and opinion words in ABSA. This complexity can lead to the misinterpretation of irrelevant contextual words, restricting their effectiveness to short-range dependencies. To address the above problem, we present a novel approach to enhance long-range dependencies between aspect and opinion words in ABSA (MambaForGCN). This approach incorporates syntax-based Graph Convolutional Network (SynGCN) and MambaFormer (Mamba-Transformer) modules to encode input with dependency relations and semantic information. The Multihead Attention (MHA) and Selective State Space model (Mamba) blocks in the MambaFormer module serve as channels to enhance the model with short and long-range dependencies between aspect and opinion words. We also introduce the Kolmogorov-Arnold Networks (KANs) gated fusion, an adaptive feature representation system that integrates SynGCN and MambaFormer and captures non-linear, complex dependencies. Experimental results on three benchmark datasets demonstrate MambaForGCN’s effectiveness, outperforming state-of-the-art (SOTA) baseline models. Copyright © 2024, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Since the pandemic's announcement, covid-19 has hit almost all businesses. Regular office jobs and commercial meetings are changed and adopt the fully online new technology tools. To avoid coworkers' interaction with each other in all departments and face-to-face contact in person, all sectors of industry and all vital domains adopt the fully digital approach. The extreme need for new technology based on information systems leads users to adopt secure tools to face the pandemic. to protect the integrity and confidentiality of data. Biometric Technologies are rapidly becoming the ideal solution to solve lots of problems including human identification. Biometrics are declared to offer the security and accuracy of human being identification and authentication. However, each biometric check involves a series of processes that are interspersed with choices and contingencies on several levels. Additionally, there are underlying normative presumptions about human anatomy that have extremely severe effects on how biometric systems work. Several Recent research analyses have clarified gendered and racist prejudices as the cause of biometric system failures. The production, usage, and problematization of bodily differences during the research and design stages of biometric systems, as well as during their use, are highlighted by a more nuanced understanding of how biometrics and bodily differences intersect. Yet, every biometric check consists of a process with many intermediate steps, introducing contingency and choice on many levels. In addition, there are underlying normative assumptions regarding human bodies that affect the functioning of biometric systems in highly problematic ways. In recent social science studies, the failures of biometric systems have been interpreted as gendered and racialized biases. Active distance learning is an appealing approach that allows students to study at a distance by completing learning activities at their own pace without watching recorded or live lectures. This approach, however, raises some concerns due to the lack of teacher guidance, feedback, and scaffolding. Still, a thoughtful design of the learning activities can mitigate this issue. In this study, we aimed to investigate how students perceive distance learning activities and how their perceptions affect their performance on immediate short tests. Using regression analysis of 103 students’ data and 62 learning activities, we investigated the relationship between the grades and completion time of the learning activities and students’ ratings of the perceived level of interest, motivation, challenge, frustration, and boredom. We found out, for example, that student perceptions of interest and motivation are essentially affected by grades rather than the activity’s completion time. Furthermore, we investigated the relationship between the perceptions of the learning activities and students’ performance on immediate, short tests. The regression model showed that the perceived motivation, interest, and challenge have a remarkably strong impact on students’ performance. We conclude that active distance learning can benefit from a thoughtful design of learning activities that takes students’ perceptions seriously into consideration.

COVID-19 is an ongoing pandemic disrupting daily life and overwhelming the healthcare infrastructure. Since the outburst of the pandemic, researchers have used various techniques to predict many aspects of the disease, including mortality rate and severity. The reproducibility of this research is challenging due to varying methodologies used to collect data, data quality, vague description of methodological approach to training prediction models, over-relying on data imputation, and over-fitting. This paper focuses on these challenges and provides a short yet comprehensive review of research on COVID mortality and severity prediction. The emphasis is on the reproducibility of the results and data quality issues. To further elaborate on the issue, we report the development of severity prediction models using two data sets. CRISP-DM is used as a methodological approach. We analyze and criticize the quality of the used data sets and how they affect the performance and limitations of the trained models. We conclude this paper with comments on data quality issues, the importance of reproducibility, and suggestions to improve reproducibility.

Measuring and understanding instructional processes in classrooms is essential for enhancing teaching and learning outcomes. Classroom observations provide educators with integral opportunity for professional development, fostering reflective practice and continuous improvement. However, traditional observation and coaching procedures are time-consuming, cumbersome, and expensive, requiring travel or video coding. Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies present a promising solution, enabling streamlined, efficient, and nuanced analysis of classroom observation data. This study aims to develop AI-based computer vision and multi-modal models to measure computer science (CS) instructional processes in video data and validate their accuracy. Using two K-8 CS classroom instruction videos, we tested two deep-learning approaches: 1) Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) for analyzing visual imagery, and 2) a multimodal deep learning approach that analyzed both visual and auditory information. Results showed that the multimodal approach achieved the highest accuracy. Our findings support the broader application of these methods for analyzing more intricate teaching and learning processes. We discuss the implications of the results for CS education practice and research.

A Study of Qualitative Correlations Between Crucial Bio-markers and the Optimal Drug Regimen of Type-I Lepra Reaction: A Deterministic Approach

Mycobacterium leprae is a bacteria that causes the disease Leprosy (Hansen’s disease), which is a neglected tropical disease. More than 200000 cases are being reported per year world wide. This disease leads to a chronic stage known as Lepra reaction that majorly causes nerve damage of peripheral nervous system leading to loss of organs. The early detection of this Lepra reaction through the level of bio-markers can prevent this reaction occurring and the further disabilities. Motivated by this, we frame a mathematical model considering the pathogenesis of leprosy and the chemical pathways involved in Lepra reactions. The model incorporates the dynamics of the susceptible schwann cells, infected schwann cells and the bacterial load and the concentration levels of the bio markers IFN-γ, TNF-α, IL-10, IL-12, IL-15 and IL-17. We consider a nine compartment optimal control problem considering the drugs used in Multi Drug Therapy (MDT) as controls. We validate the model using 2D - heat plots. We study the correlation between the bio-markers levels and drugs in MDT and propose a optimal drug regimen through these optimal control studies. The channel back-siltation problem has been restricting the development of channels,and its monitoring is limited by funds and natural ***,predicting the channel back-siltation situation in a timely and accurate manner is ***,a numerical simulation of the back-siltation problem in the sea area near the channel is of great significance to the maintenance of a *** this study,the back siltation of a deep-water channel in the Lanshan Port area of the Port of Rizhao after dredging is *** paper relies on the MIKE 21 software to establish the wave,tidal current,and sediment numerical models and uses measured data from two observation stations in the study area for *** this basis,taking one month as an example,the entire project channel was divided into five sections,and three observation points were set on each *** results show that the area with offshore siltation is located in the northerly direction of the artificial anti-wave *** occurred on the northern seabed in the sea a little farther from the *** occurred on the seabed surface far away from the shoreline,and with the increase in the distance from the shoreline,the amount of siltation in the south,center,and north became gradually closed,and the results can be used to guide actual engineering *** study will play a positive role in promoting the dredging project of Rizhao Lanshan Port.

Screening the nonlinear optical properties of reference esters

In this investigation we report results on the linear and nonlinear optical properties such as the dipole moment, polarizability, total first hyperpolarizability βtot, electric field-induced second harmonic generation β//, hyper-Rayleigh scattering first hyperpolarizability βHRS, the depolarization ratio DR, and the mean second hyperpolarizability γ of eight esters using density functional theory at the B3LYP, CAM-B3LYP, PBE0, M06, and M06-2X functionals. Moderate total first hyperpolarizability βtot up to 269.09, 165.21, and 122.87 a.u. has been obtained for the methyl salicylate, ethyl benzoate and butyl acetate, respectively. The βtot values of the methyl salicylate are nearly six times higher than those reported for the urea. An inverse relationship was achieved between the second-order molecular hyperpolarizability βtot and the band gap Eg and between the βHRS and β//. Strategies to improve the nonlinear optical activity of these esters are outlined. This quantum chemical exploration of some esters with moderate to high hyperpolarizabilities will provide more insights into exploring novel nonlinear optical materials and progressing in technologies that rely on manipulating and controlling light for various purposes, such as optical signal processing, photonic and photorefractive devices. © 2025 Elsevier B.V.

Literature reviews play a crucial role in scientific research for understanding the current state of research, identifying gaps, and guiding future studies on specific topics. However, the process of conducting a comprehensive literature review is yet time-consuming. This paper proposes a novel framework, collaborative knowledge minigraph agents (CKMAs), to automate scholarly literature reviews. A novel prompt-based algorithm, the knowledge minigraph construction agent (KMCA), is designed to identify relations between concepts from academic literature and automatically constructs knowledge minigraphs. By leveraging the capabilities of large language models on constructed knowledge minigraphs, the multiple path summarization agent (MPSA) efficiently organizes concepts and relations from different viewpoints to generate literature review paragraphs. We evaluate CKMAs on three benchmark datasets. Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method, further revealing promising applications of LLMs in scientific research. © 2025, Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (***).
