In recent developments within the research community, the integration of Large Language Models (LLMs) in creating fully autonomous agents has garnered significant interest. Despite this, LLM-based agents frequently demonstrate notable shortcomings in adjusting to dynamic environments and fully grasping human needs. In this work, we introduce the problem of LLM-based human-agent collaboration for complex task-solving, exploring their synergistic potential. To tackle the problem, we propose a Reinforcement Learning-based HumanAgent Collaboration method, ReHAC, which trains a policy model designed to determine the most opportune stages for human intervention within the task-solving process. We conduct experiments under real and simulated human-agent collaboration scenarios. Experimental results demonstrate that the synergistic efforts of humans and LLM-based agents significantly improve performance in complex tasks, primarily through well-planned, limited human intervention. We present a unified probabilistic formulation for diffusion-based image editing, where a latent variable is edited in a task-specific manner and generally deviates from the corresponding marginal distribution induced by the original stochastic or ordinary differential equation (SDE or ODE). Instead, it defines a corresponding SDE or ODE for editing. In the formulation, we prove that the Kullback-Leibler divergence between the marginal distributions of the two SDEs gradually decreases while that for the ODEs remains as the time approaches zero, which shows the promise of SDE in image editing. Inspired by it, we provide the SDE counterparts for widely used ODE baselines in various tasks including inpainting and image-to-image translation, where SDE shows a consistent and substantial improvement. Moreover, we propose SDE-Drag - a simple yet effective method built upon the SDE formulation for point-based content dragging. We build a challenging benchmark (termed DragBench) with open-set natural, art, and AI-generated images for evaluation. A user study on DragBench indicates that SDE-Drag significantly outperforms our ODE baseline, existing diffusion-based methods, and the renowned DragGAN. Our results demonstrate the superiority and versatility of SDE in image editing and push the boundary of diffusion-based editing methods. The investigation examines the behavior of a relativistic particle in the field of a Gaussian laser pulse in 3+1 dimensions through an approach based on the method of coupled parameters within Lobachevsky geometry. The dynamics of an electron in a modulated laser pulse (in terms of amplitude, phase, and polarization) are analyzed, and the optimal conditions for phase synchronization of particle acceleration in an intense laser field of 1022 W/cm2 are determined. The role of a constant homogeneous magnetic field in stabilizing trajectories and enhancing the directed radiation of particles, including polarization and synchrotron effects, is investigated. Special attention is given to the spectral characteristics of radiation and the angular distribution of power, paving the way for the development of efficient radiation sources in high-energy physics and laser technologies. The recognition of the Arabic characters is a crucial task incomputer vision and Natural Language Processing fields. Some major complicationsin recognizing handwritten texts include distortion and patternvariabilities. So, the feature extraction process is a significant task in NLPmodels. If the features are automatically selected, it might result in theunavailability of adequate data for accurately forecasting the character ***, many features usually create difficulties due to high dimensionality *** this background, the current study develops a Sailfish Optimizer withDeep Transfer Learning-Enabled Arabic Handwriting Character Recognition(SFODTL-AHCR) model. The projected SFODTL-AHCR model primarilyfocuses on identifying the handwritten Arabic characters in the inputimage. The proposed SFODTL-AHCR model pre-processes the input imageby following the Histogram Equalization approach to attain this *** Inception with ResNet-v2 model examines the pre-processed image toproduce the feature vectors. The Deep Wavelet Neural Network (DWNN)model is utilized to recognize the handwritten Arabic characters. At last,the SFO algorithm is utilized for fine-tuning the parameters involved in theDWNNmodel to attain better performance. The performance of the proposedSFODTL-AHCR model was validated using a series of images. Extensivecomparative analyses were conducted. The proposed method achieved a maximum accuracy of 99.73%. The outcomes inferred the supremacy of theproposed SFODTL-AHCR model over other approaches.

In the direct problem, we are looking for the maximum accumulated profit on a set of temporary functions of a certain type. Active Learning approaches have found success in CS1 and CS2 courses, consolidating instructional time on the practical, problem-solving aspects of programming. With the increasing availability of generative Artificial Intelligence Assistants, there is a renewed push to focus on higher-order skills beyond syntax and solving programming problems by matching sample outputs. This poster examines the impact of conceptual explanation-based exercises in introductory programming courses through the implementation of a scaffolded semi-flipped classroom. This method is currently in its third semester as a part of an ongoing, iterative, semi-experimental approach to support student resilience in entrance-level courses. This approach aimed to enhance student engagement, retention, and performance by integrating weekly practice sessions and “group-tutoring" sessions facilitated by peer learning assistants. In these sessions, students were encouraged to articulate their problem-solving strategies and the reasoning behind their solutions, fostering a deeper understanding of programming language paradigms and problem-solving techniques. The findings indicate that this method significantly increased classroom engagement, as students became more active participants in their learning journey. Retention rates improved as students became more confident in understanding and applying programming concepts. Overall, student performance saw a notable rise, with students demonstrating a better grasp of programming paradigms and problem-solving approaches beyond rote memorization and matching sample outputs. © 2025 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of technology-based interventions on academic performance. To achieve this purpose a systematic review was conducted. Within the scope of this study EBSCO, Springer, ProQuest, science Direct, Wiley Online Library, Taylor and Francis Online, databases were scanned, and 18 studies were included in the review. Our results show that the iPad is the most preferred digital device for enhancing math and reading skills and significant results can be seen when used. Similar positive effects were observed with other technological devices, reinforcing the effectiveness of technology as a tool for supporting academic performance. This evidence underscores the value of incorporating digital devices in educational strategies, particularly for improving key academic skills. © 2024 IEEE.

The motivation to read among children in Nordic countries has seen a noticeable decline in recent years. This study explores the design of social robots for stimulating interest in reading among fourth-grade students (age 10–11). We used a combination of conceptual design methods to engage teachers and students from four classes in two Swedish schools in co-creation workshops. Ideas on functions, qualities, and robot designs were generated, and based on this a set of ten distinct design concepts were created: the Facilitator, the Librarian, the Coach, the Buddy, the Assistant, the Narrator, the Creator, the Apprentice, the Portable, and the Gamer. The strengths and weaknesses of different designs were evaluated, resulting in a final design named ‘The BookBot,’ aiming to inspire and engage students in book reading through discussions of book content, character portrayal, and personalised book recommendations. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

This work describes an incremental design of a course that implements the flipped classroom methodology. The last phase of this implementation was to include rewards based on self-evaluation tests that would impact the students' grades. This should foster students' engagement with the learning methodology. In this work, a deep analysis of the impact of the reward is performed. The analysis of the use of the out-class materials shows that the students' pace does not correspond to the flipped classroom methodology. The students' behaviour is more focused on achieving rewards rather than preparing in-class activities with out-class materials. It is hypothesized that, the main reasons for these behaviours could be that, on the one hand, since the reward is considered by students as another item of the course grade, they work to get the reward. On the other hand, students do not want to change their study methodology because getting involved in the flipped methodology requires from them a significant effort. © 2023 IEEE.
