Nano self-assembly of fluorophosphate cathode induced by surface energy evolution towards high-rate and stable sodium-ion batteries

In the field of materials science and engineering,controlling over shape and crystal orientation remains a tremendous ***,we realize a nano self-assembly morphology adjustment of Na3V2(PO4)2F3(NVPF)material,based on surface energy evolution by partially replacing V3+with aliovalent Mn2+.Crystal growth direction and surface energy evolution,main factors in inducing the nano self-assembly of NVPF with different shapes and sizes,are revealed by high-resolution transmission electron microscope combined with density functional ***,NVPF with a two-dimensional nanosheet structure(NVPF-NS)exhibits the best rate capability with 68 mAh·g−1 of specific capacity at an ultrahigh rate of 20 C and cycle stability with 80.7%of capacity retention over 1,000 cycles at 1 *** significantly,when matched with Se@reduced graphene oxide(rGO)anode,NVPF-NS//Se@rGO sodium-ion full cells display a remarkable long-term stability with a high capacity retention of 93.8%after 500 cycles at 0.5 C and−25°***,experimental and theoretical calculation results manifest that NVPF-NS demonstrates such superior performances,which can be mainly due to its inherent crystal structure and preferential orientation growth of{001}*** work will promise insights into developing novel architectural design strategies for high-performance cathode materials in advanced sodium-ion batteries.

Cognitive neuroscience aims to develop computational models that can accurately predict and explain neural responses to sensory inputs in the cortex. Recent studies attempt to leverage the representation power of deep neural networks(DNNs) to predict the brain response and suggest a correspondence between artificial and biological neural networks in their feature representations. However, typical voxel-wise encoding models tend to rely on specific networks designed for computer vision tasks, leading to suboptimal brain-wide correspondence during cognitive tasks. To address this challenge, this work proposes a novel approach that upgrades voxel-wise encoding models through multi-level integration of features from DNNs and information from brain networks. Our approach combines DNN feature-level ensemble learning and brain atlas-level model integration, resulting in significant improvements in predicting whole-brain neural activity during naturalistic video perception. Furthermore, this multi-level integration framework enables a deeper understanding of the brain's neural representation mechanism, accurately predicting the neural response to complex visual concepts. We demonstrate that neural encoding models can be optimized by leveraging a framework that integrates both data-driven approaches and theoretical insights into the functional structure of the cortical networks.

To improve the obstacle avoidance capability of agents and ensure reliable communication during the path following of heterogeneous marine unmanned systems, a dynamic safety area and communication distance constraint based path planning algorithm is proposed in this paper where the communication distance constraint is considered. Firstly, the dynamic safety area is constructed based on the relative velocity between agents and the dynamic obstacles to realize obstacle avoidance. Secondly, the reachable area of agents is determined according to the communication distance constraint such that the heterogeneous marine unmanned system maintains a high quality of communication during the path following. Finally, the communication constraint center switching algorithm is proposed to meet the communication distance constraint in different sea scenes. Numerical simulations are performed to show that the proposed path planning algorithm achieves strong communication connectivity during the path following of the agents in the heterogeneous marine unmanned system. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Chernoff Bounds and Reverse Hypercontractivity on HDX

We prove optimal concentration of measure for lifted functions on high dimensional expanders (HDX). Let X be a k-dimensional HDX. We show for any i ≤ k and function f : X(i) → [0, 1]: (Formula Presented) . Using this fact, we prove that high dimensional expanders are reverse hypercontractive, a powerful functional inequality from discrete analysis implying that for any sets A, B ⊂ X(k), the probability a ρ-correlated pair passes between them is at least (Formula Presented) Our results hold under weak spectral assumptions on X. Namely we prove exponential concentration of measure for any complex below the ‘Trickling-Down Threshold’ (beyond which concentration may be arbitrarily poor), and optimal concentration for √k-skeletons of such complexes. We also show optimal bounds for the top dimension of stronger HDX among other settings. We leverage our inequalities to prove several new agreement testing theorems on high dimensional expanders, including a new 99%-regime test for subsets, and a variant of the ‘Z-test’ achieving inverse exponential soundness under the stronger assumption of ∞-expansion. The latter gives rise to the first optimal testers beyond the complete complex and products, a stepping stone toward the use of HDX in strong soundness PCPs. We also give applications within expansion, analysis, combinatorics, and coding theory, including a proof that two-sided HDX have optimal geometric overlap (giving the first explicit bounded-degree construction), near-optimal double samplers, new super-exponential degree lower bounds for certain HDX, distance-amplified list-decodable and locally testable codes, a Frankl–Rödl Theorem, and more. © 2024, CC BY.

Terahertz communication is anticipated to play a pivotal role in applications like super-capacity data retrieval, ultra-high-speed short-distance transmission, holographic communication, and micro-sized communication. Emerging scenarios such as the sixth generation (6G), integrated sensing and communication, the metaverse, and autonomous agent networking are also poised to benefit. Additionally, it promises high-precision positioning and high-resolution perceptual imaging for networks and terminal devices. This paper provides a comprehensive overview of the current performance, developmental trends, and measurement techniques associated with solid-state terahertz circuits and communication systems. Regarding circuits, the research and development of single-function circuits in the terahertz band have reached maturity. Traditional single-function circuits continue to evolve towards higher frequency bands (exceeding 1 THz), with reduced loss and improved efficiency. Concurrently, building upon these traditional circuits, researchers have introduced innovative integrated circuit designs and layout techniques to minimize system volume. Solid-state terahertz communication systems are also progressing towards elevated carrier frequencies, faster communication rates, phased arrays, and full-duplex communication. Through collaborative efforts, the global academic and industrial communities are intensifying their focus on terahertz key technologies and prototype system validation, aiming to bolster industrial growth and ecosystem development.

NH_(3)is an essential feedstock for fertilizer ***-scale NH_(3)synthesis mostly relies on the Haber-Bosch method,however,which suffers from massive CO_(2) emission and high energy *** NO_(3)-reduction is an attractive substitute to the Haber-Bosch method for synthesizing NH_(3)under mild *** this reaction will produce a variety of products,it highly desires efficient and selective electrocatalyst for NH_(3)***,we report in situ grown Fe_(3)O_(4)particle on stainless steel(Fe_(3)O_(4)/SS)as a high-efficiency electrocatalyst for NO_(3)^(-)reduction to NH_(3).In 0.1 M NaOH with 0.1 M NaNO_(3),such Fe_(3)O_(4)/SS reaches a remarkable Faradaic efficiency of 91.5%and a high NH_(3)yield of 10,145μg·h^(-1)·cm^(-2)at-0.5 V *** hydrogen electrode(RHE).Furthermore,it owns robust structural and electrochemical *** work provides useful guidelines to expand the scope of metallic oxide electrocatalysts for NH_(3)*** catalytic mechanism is uncovered and discussed further by theoretical calculations.

We report the physical properties of ThRu_(3)Si_(2)featured with distorted Ru kagome *** combined experiments of resistivity,magnetization and specific heat reveal bulk superconductivity with T_(c)=3.8 *** specific heat jump and calculated electron–phonon coupling indicate a moderate coupled BCS *** comparison with LaRu_(3)Si_(2),the calculated electronic structure in ThRu_(3)Si_(2)shows an electron-doping effect with electron filling lifted from 100 meV below flat bands to 300 meV above *** explains the lower superconducting transition temperature and weaker electron correlations observed in ThRu_(3)Si_(2).Our work suggests the Tc and electronic correlations in the kagome superconductor could have an intimate connection with the flat bands.

A dual-port 1×2 antenna array incorporating a parasitic pixel surface in front of the array is proposed. By optimizing the pixel surface, different radiation patterns can be provided by each port. To demonstrate the effectiveness of the approach, a dual-port design, with patterns directed to 112° and 66° and gains of 7.87 dBi and 6.95 dBi respectively at 28 GHz, is provided. A feature of the design is that no RF switches are needed in the pixel surface. The proposed antenna array can be suitable for future fifth-generation (5G) wireless communication systems. © 2023 IEEE.

Analyzing the Effect of the Intra-Pixel Position of Small PSFs for Optimizing the PL of Optical Subpixel Localization

Subpixel localization techniques for estimating the positions of point-like images captured by pixelated image sensors have been widely used in diverse optical measurement *** unavoidable imaging noise,there is a precision limit(PL)when estimating the target positions on image sensors,which depends on the detected photon count,noise,point spread function(PSF)radius,and PSF’s intra-pixel *** studies have clearly reported the effects of the first three parameters on the PL but have neglected the intra-pixel position ***,we develop a localization PL analysis framework for revealing the effect of the intra-pixel position of small *** accurately estimate the PL in practical applications,we provide effective PSF(e PSF)modeling approaches and apply the Cramér–Rao lower *** on the characteristics of small PSFs,we first derive simplified equations for finding the best PL and the best intra-pixel region for an arbitrary small PSF;we then verify these equations on real ***,we use the typical Gaussian PSF to perform a further analysis and find that the final optimum of the PL is achieved at the pixel boundaries when the Gaussian radius is as small as possible,indicating that the optimum is ultimately limited by light ***,we apply the maximum likelihood *** combination with e PSF modeling allows us to successfully reach the PL in experiments,making the above theoretical analysis *** work provides a new perspective on combining image sensor position control with PSF engineering to make full use of information theory,thereby paving the way for thoroughly understanding and achieving the final optimum of the PL in optical localization.
