Prescribed-time stabilization for high-order nonlinear systems with a pre-specified asymmetric output constraint

This article considers the problem of prescribed-time stabilization for a class of uncertain high-order nonlinear systems (i.e., systems in the p-normal form) with a pre-specified asymmetric output constraint. A core ingredient, tangent-type barrier function, is proposed first by skillfully excavating and assimilating the inherent properties of system nonlinearities. Based on the barrier function, as well as a serial of nested signum functions, the celebrated technique of adding a power integrator is renovated finely to establish a new design approach by which a continuous state feedback prescribed-time stabilizer, along with a tangent-type asymmetric barrier Lyapunov function, can be constructed in a systematic fashion, thereby guaranteeing the performance of prescribed-time state convergence and ensuring the fulfillment of pre-specified output constraints surely. Benefiting from the composite characteristics of the presented tangent-type barrier Lyapunov function and the signum functions, the proposed approach further offers a unified nature in design enabling us to organize a prescribed-time stabilizer that is simultaneously valid and executable for the system undergone or free from output constraints, without the need of changing the controller structure. The effectiveness and superiority of the developed approach are illustrated by a numerical example. © 2022 The Franklin institute

As an efficient modulation technique for joint carrier amplitude and phase, Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM) is a widely used modulation method in modern communications. This article designs a system of 256QAM modulation signal synthesis technology, which supports scrambling, serial data to parallel data, differential coding, channel coding, constellation mapping, shaping filtering, and digital modulation. This article also provides verification tests for the key blocks of the 256QAM algorithm, including the functional test of the scrambling block, the functional test of the shaping filter module, and the functional test of the overall modulated signal. The test results show that the designed module meets the design requirements and meets the expected indicators. © 2023 IEEE.

Species of Clerodendrum are a well-known medicinal plant in the Indian traditional system of medicines for its multi-purpose use in the management of various diseases or disorders. For scientific validation of the traditional claims, this study aimed to delineate the antioxidant properties and phenolic contents of methanolic leaf extracts of five species under the genus Clerodendrum viz., Clerodendrum viscosum Vent. (CV), Clerodendrum indicum (L.) Kuntze (CIN), Clerodendrum inerme (L.) Gaertn. (CI), Clerodendrum chinense (Osbeck) Mabb. (CC) and Clerodendrum japonicum (Thunb.) Sweet (CJ). The antioxidant activities of the extracts were evaluated by the ABTS, DPPH, ferric reducing antioxidant power (FRAP) and total antioxidant capacity (PMD) assays. Chromatographic and spectrophotometric techniques were used to determine the total phenolic and flavonoid contents of the extracts. Out of the five plants, CC showed the most prominent antioxidant activity in comparison with standard antioxidant compound (Ascorbic acid) with IC₅₀ values of 58.22 ± 1.23 μg/mL (for DPPH), 122.11 ± 4.00 μg/mL (for ABTS), 105.33 ± 5.14 μg/mL (for FRAP) and 166.11 ± 3.52 μg/mL (for PMD) assay. HPTLC fingerprint indicated significant variations in the phytoconstituents of the five species. The gallic acid and vanillic acid were the two prominent phenolic compounds present in three species viz., CV, CI, and CC. Moreover, CC showed a significant correlation between antioxidant capacities and their total phenolic contents, which corroborates the traditional claims of local people. Thus, promising antioxidant ability and distinctive presence of polyphenolic compounds suggest that CC plant may be helpful in the future development of herbal formulations and natural sources of antioxidants in the food and pharmaceutical industries. © 2022, The Author(s) under exclusive licence to Society for Plant Research.

In vehicular networks, especially in urban scenarios, road topology-based routing shows great advantages in dealing with the problems of broken links and long delays originating from sparse connections and signal attenuation. However, how road status affect data transmission performance on various routing metrics is still an intricate and vague problem. Concerned with this problem, we propose a correlation analysis approach between road network features and routing metrics (TRUE) to assist in the construction of optimal routing metrics in road-based hierarchical inter-vehicle routing. Simulation results show that TRUE has a strong ability to optimize intermediate road selection. © 2019 IEEE.

Optoelectronic, mechanical, and thermoelectric characteristics of the material halide perovskite RbBeX3 (X = Cl, Br, I) are theoretically investigated in the current work. The structural and elastic properties of mentioned materials are examined using the generalized gradient approximation (PBEsol), whereas electronic and thermoelectric properties are better understood using the modified Becke-Johnson (mBJ) functional technique. Born Criteria along with energy of formation have been examined for stability of all of these halide perovskite variations. The elastic constants of the cubic symmetry are investigated to ascertain anisotropy, Debye temperatures, and the distinction between brittle and ductile nature. Based on the mBJ potential, the bandgaps for RbBeCl3, RbBeBr3, and RbBeI3 are 3.8 eV, 2.1 eV, and 0.45 eV, respectively. To confirm the optical properties inside the visible region, all of these halide perovskites are further analyzed for their properties such as absorption, refractive index, and dielectric constants in the energy range 0–14eV. Furthermore, because of their lower values thermal conductivity, larger values of Seebeck coefficient, and Figure of merit (ZT), these halide perovskites are also suitable candidates for thermoelectric applications. © 2025 Elsevier Ltd and Techna Group S.r.l.

Silicone rubber composite is a priority electrical insulating material used in high-voltage outdoor insulation *** electrical tracking/erosion and poor flame resistance performance of silicone rubber once ignited,substantially reduce its working *** paper attempts to investigate tracking/erosion performance of room temperature vulcanized(RTV)silicone rubber along with flame retardant parameters using aluminum trihydrate(ATH),graphene nanosheets(GN)and milled glass fiber(GF)*** inclined plane test(IPT)was performed in line with criteria defined in IEC 60587 using step-up tracking voltage method while flame retardancy is evaluated according to ASTM E 1354.0 using a cone *** suggest 30% of ATH assists in improving physical tracking/erosion resistance of pristine silicone elastomer rubber by impeding development of leakage current and a great reduction in maximum average temperatures on the surface of *** improvement in performance of RTV2 is achieved through introduction of 1%of GN and 5% of GF as seen in ***,30% of ATH reduces heat release rate and smoke production rate,and this trend is improved with the introduction of GN/***4 has pop up as the most promising silicone rubber composite with excellent electrical tracking,erosion,and flame resistance performance relative to its counterparts in this study.

Positive temperature-dependent thermal conductivity induced by wavelike phonons in complex Ag-based argyrodites

The phonon transport mechanisms and the anomalous temperature-dependent lattice thermal conductivities (κL) in Ag-based argyrodites have not been fully understood. Herein, we systematically study the phonon thermal transport of five Ag-based crystalline argyrodites Ag7PS6, Ag7AsS6, Ag8SnS6, Ag8GeS6, and Ag9GaS6 utilizing perturbation theory and the unified theory thermal transport model. Our results show that, as the complexity of the unit cell increases, the proportion of the population terms declines while the coherence contributions become more significant, leading to the relatively weak temperature-dependent κL of Ag7PS6 and Ag7AsS6, while the more complex crystalline argyrodites, Ag8SnS6, Ag8GeS6, and Ag9GaS6, exhibiting a glass-like behavior in their temperature dependence of κL. We attribute the positive temperature-dependent and ultralow κL of Ag8SnS6, Ag8GeS6, and Ag9GaS6 to the dominance of wavelike phonons and the strong phonon broadening. Furthermore, using laser flash measurements and the homogeneous nonequilibrium molecular dynamics simulations based on accurate machine learning neuroevolution potentials, we provide further evidence for the glass-like temperature-dependent κL of Ag8SnS6 and Ag8GeS6.

In the present paper, aqueous extracts ofAlchemilla Vulgaris (Aslan Pençesi) leaves have been used to prepare Fe3O4 nano-flakes accompanied by calcination at 400°C. The various properties of biosynthesised Fe3O4 nano-flakes were investigated using UV–Visible, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), scanning electron microscope (SEM), X-Ray diffraction (XRD), cyclic voltammetry, thermogravimetric (TG), and differential thermal analysis (DTA) respectively. The SEM study reveals the formation of flake-like structure with a diameter of 85 nm and a thickness of 9 nm respectively. The DTA curve shows two endothermic peaks corresponding to the decomposition of organic matter and the deoxidation of FeO (Wustite) to α-Fe, respectively, and their activation energy values were found to be 5.73 and 16.43 kJ/moles, respectively. The green synthesised magnetite nano-flakes is proved to be an excellent electrocatalyst for the electro-oxidation of ascorbic acid. The effect of scan rates, the concentration of the modifier, and the analyte was also investigated. © 2021 Informa UK Limited, trading as Taylor & Francis Group.

Serious bubble clogging in flow-field channels will hinder the water supply to the electrode of proton exchange membrane water electrolyzer(PEMWE),deteriorating the cell *** order to address this issue,the dual-layer flow field design has been proposed in our previous *** this study,the VOF(volume of fluid)method is utilized to investigate the effects of different degassing layer and base heights on the bubble behavior in channel and determine the time for the bubbles to detach from the electrode ***,it is very timeconsuming to get the optimal combination of base layer and degassing layer heights due to the large number of potential cases,which needs to be calculated through computation-intensive physical ***,machine learning methods are adopted to accelerate the optimization.A data-driven surrogate model based on deep neural network(DNN)is developed and successfully trained using data obtained by the physical VOF *** on the highly efficient surrogate,genetic algorithm(GA)is further utilized to determine the optimal heights of base layer and degassing ***,the reliability of the optimization was validated by bubble visualization in channel and electrochemical characterization in PEMWE through experiments.

Active temperature control devices are widely used for the thermal management of enclosures,including vehicles and *** radiative cooling has been extensively studied;however,its integration with existing actively temperature regulated and decorative enclosures has slipped out of the research at status ***,we present a photonic-engineered dual-side thermal management strategy for reducing the active power consumption of the existing temperature-regulated enclosure without sacrificing its *** coating the exterior and interior of the enclosure roof with two visible-transparent films with distinctive wavelength-selectivity,simultaneous control over the energy exchange among the enclosure with the hot sun,the cold outer space,the atmosphere,and the active cooler can be implemented.A power-saving of up to 63%for active coolers of the enclosure is experimentally demonstrated by measuring the heat flux compared to the ordinary enclosure when the set temperature is around 26℃.This photonic-engineered dual-side thermal management strategy offers facile integration with the existing enclosures and represents a new paradigm toward carbon neutrality.
