The dark web is often discussed in taboo by many who are unfamiliar with the subject. However, this paper takes a dive into the skeleton of what constructs the dark web by compiling the research of published essays. The Onion Router (TOR) and other discussed browsers are specialized web browsers that provide anonymity by going through multiple servers and encrypted networks between the host and client, hiding the IP address of both ends. This provides difficulty in terms of controlling or monitoring the dark web, leading to its popularity in criminal underworlds. In this work, we provide an overview of data mining and penetration testing tools that are being widely used to crawl and collect data. We compare the tools to provide strengths and weaknesses of the tools while providing challenges of harnessing massive data from dark web using crawlers and penetration testing tools including machine learning (ML) techniques. Despite the effort to crawl dark web has progressed, there are still rooms to advance existing approaches to combat the ever-changing landscape of the dark web.

This pilot study explores the development and application of a Gamified Virtual Reality Behavioral Training (G-XRBT) app to enhance the competencies of healthcare and allied professional students (HAPS) in managing complex dementia-related challenging behaviors. By simulating real-life scenarios involving agitation, refusal phenomena, and wandering among individuals with Alzheimer's disease and related dementias (Pw-ADRD), the app fosters a deeper understanding of non-pharmacological interventions. Focus group sessions with HAPS informed the design of the G-XRBT app's first prototype, which tailors scenarios to learners' challenges. Findings suggest the app's potential to significantly improve dementia care training.

Neural networks like deep learning have become effective solutions for NIDS. Their ability to learn intricate patterns and behaviors makes them well-suited for distinguishing between normal network traffic and attacks. However, a significant drawback lies in the resource-intensive training process. Many network gateways and routers lack the necessary memory and processing power to train and execute such models. This study leverages the Botnet Malware attacks of the Kitsune dataset. Our analysis focuses on evaluating this dataset using various algorithms in an offline mode, which proves to be more efficient and exact for detecting attacks within local networks. The proposed method for feature selection uses the efficiency detector value (EDV). The decision tree has the best results between deep learning, linear regression, and random forest algorithms with 99.97 % recall, which has 0.28 % improvement versus deep federated learning. The proposed feature selection method improves the runtime by about 67 % using the proposed feature selection method.

With the advent of the big data era, the amount and diversity of media data have grown exponentially, posing a major challenge to traditional data processing techniques. This paper studies an intelligent model to address these challenges, which uses deep learning and natural language processing to automatically extract and predict target features and achieve high-precision predictions, thereby improving the intelligence of the algorithm. A model that integrates convolutional neural networks and recurrent neural networks is established to effectively analyze multimodal data. It has an average accuracy of 89.072% in classification tasks and 89.184% in regression tasks, which is better than traditional methods such as sequence pattern mining, OLAP, and RDBMS. In addition, the model performs well in clustering tasks. In terms of efficiency, the model takes only 0.53 seconds on average to complete the task, with a CPU usage of 32.7%, a memory usage of 514MB, and an energy consumption of 0.045 units, all of which are better than the comparison methods.

The evolution of wireless communication is poised for a major shift with the transition from 5G to 6G, a leap characterized by breakthroughs in speed, ultra-reliable low-latency communication, and AI-driven network optimization. This paper examines these advancements, focusing on sub-millisecond latency, terahertz spectrum utilization, and enhanced network capabilities tailored to industries such as smart infrastructure, healthcare, and autonomous vehicles. While 6G promises revolutionary improvements, it also presents new challenges, including increased computational complexity and energy demands, data privacy concerns, and efficient spectrum allocation. The proposed model aims to address these issues by integrating AI and machine learning for optimized resource management, resulting in a high-performance, cost-effective solution for real-time, data-intensive applications. To assess the model's effectiveness, comprehensive simulations and real-world trials will be conducted, measuring critical metrics such as network throughput, latency, reliability, and energy efficiency. This study offers an all-encompassing guide to understanding and harnessing the transformative potential of 6G technology, laying the groundwork for future wireless communication systems.

There is a growing need for authentication methodology in virtual reality applications. Current systems assume that the immersive experience technology is a collection of peripheral devices connected to a personal computer or mobile device. Hence there is a complete reliance on the computing device with traditional authentication mechanisms to handle the authentication and authorization decisions. Using the virtual reality controllers and headset poses a different set of challenges as it is subject to unauthorized observation, unannounced to the user given the fact that the headset completely covers the field of vision in order to provide an immersive experience. As the need for virtual reality experiences in the commercial world increases, there is a need to provide other alternative mechanisms for secure authentication. In this paper, we analyze a few proposed authentication systems and reached a conclusion that a multidimensional approach to authentication is needed to address the granular nature of authentication and authorization needs of a commercial virtual reality applications in the commercial world. © 2022, CC BY.

In the paper, hardware and software of the Arduino based pure sine wave inverter with overload and overheating protection have been developed. The inverter constantly monitors the consumption current, the battery voltage, the temperature of the power switches (radiator) and, if their parameters are normal, forms a sinusoidal voltage of 230 V, 50 Hz at the output of the inverter, similar to the network voltage. The inverter provides the display of information on the LCD screen about current and power consumption, battery voltage, temperature of the inverter power switches, as well as display of emergency icons when the permissible operating parameters are exceeded. The inverter generates sound and visual warning messages with LED indicators and buzzer. The inverter can be used as a lightweight low-power 100 W network inverter with sine-wave voltage for autonomous power supply of low-power electronics.

Agile methods promise to achieve high productivity and provide high-quality software. Agile software development is the most important approach that has spread through the world of software development over the past decade. software team productivity measurement is essential in agile teams to increase the performance of software development. Due to the prevalence of agile methodologies and increasing competition of software development companies, software team productivity has become one of the crucial challenges for agile software companies and teams. Awareness of the level of team productivity can help them to achieve better estimation results on the time and cost of the projects. However, to measure software productivity, there is no definitive solution or approach whether in traditional and agile software development teams that lead to the occurrence of many problems in achieving a reliable definition of software productivity. Hence, this study aims to propose a statistical model to assess the team's productivity in agile teams. A survey was conducted with forty software companies and measured the impact of six factors of the team on productivity in these companies. The results show that team effectiveness factors including inter-team relationship, quality conformance by the team, team vision, team leader, and requirements handled by the team had a significant impact on the team's productivity. Moreover, the results also state that inter-team relations affect the most on software teams' productivity. Finally, the model fit test showed that 80% of productivity depends on team effectiveness factors. © 2021 IEEE.

Non-volatile memory (NVM) provides bulk storage capacity, like NAND flash, while providing low latency, like DRAM, at the same time. NVM enables high-performance, reliable, and cost-effective high performance systems by providing low-latency data access and high capacity storage compared to traditional disk-based system. As NVM becomes a novel tier in the memory hierarchy, efficiently utilizing NVM I/O capability is important. In this work, we evaluate the I/O performance of NVM in three aspects: the performance change with a varying number of concurrent accesses, the performance dif-ference between remote and local accesses, and the performance change with various access granularity. We also compare the performance of NVM file systems that handle the different I/O characteristics of NVM. Specifically, Odinfs is the state-of-the-art NVM file system that solves the performance degradation of NVM with large number of threads and remote NUMA node accesses. We further optimize Odinfs by solving the I/O performance degradation with a small number of threads. We evaluate the optimized version of Odinfs and show that the throughput of Odinfs is increased by 30.91 % with four or fewer threads.

Interoperability remains one of the biggest challenges facing healthcare organizations today. Despite the advancements made through digital transformation and API that allow increased interoperability, patients still have to contend with a different patient portal for each provider they visit. Several health systems are unable to successfully exchange EHR data. API transfer and consolidate patient information including medical history and treatment records across the disparate health care systems. Mobile apps use API to gather data from various medical wearables and add the data to a patient's health record. However, API exposes application logic and sensitive data information giving patient data a window to the World Wide Web and has thus increasingly become a target for attackers. As the need for tighter API security grows, managing APIs becomes more important than ever. The goal of this paper is to provide an overview and discuss research questions that can aid in understanding and building the knowledge base on API data integration and interoperability.
