Experimental evaluation of MU-MIMO in TDD environment for 5G NR using exploiting channel reciprocity

5G New Radio (NR) operates in two frequency ranges viz. Frequency Range 1 (sub-6 GHz band) and Frequency Range 2 (millimeter wave communication). It utilizes Time Division Duplex (TDD) communication, allowing the same frequency band for uplink and downlink transmission using sounding reference signals. These signals help estimate channel conditions for scheduling downlink traffic. Multi-User Multiple Input Multiple Output (MU-MIMO) technology enables simultaneous data transmission to multiple users using multiple antennas. This study examines MU-MIMO performance in TDD by analyzing variables like radio conditions, modulation schemes, code rates, precoding algorithms, and sub-carrier spacing. Simulation results show that Zero Forcing (ZF) precoding outperforms Block Diagonalization (BD) and Regularized Zero Forcing (RZF) in good radio conditions. However, in bad radio conditions, RZF performs better than ZF. Choosing higher code rates in 16 and 64-QAM and lower code rates in 256-QAM from the MCS table improves throughput. This indicates that MCS and user selection are crucial for higher throughput in TDD-based MU-MIMO for 5G NR. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's Institute of computer Applications and Management 2024.

In today’s digital era,the text may be in form of *** research aims to deal with the problem by recognizing such text and utilizing the support vector machine(SVM).A lot of work has been done on the English language for handwritten character recognition but very less work on the under-resourced Hindi language.A method is developed for identifying Hindi language characters that use morphology,edge detection,histograms of oriented gradients(HOG),and SVM classes for summary *** rank employs the summary to extract essential phrases based on paragraph position,phrase position,numerical data,inverted comma,sentence length,and keywords *** primary goal of the SVM optimization function is to reduce the number of features by eliminating unnecessary and redundant *** second goal is to maintain or improve the classification system’s *** experiment included news articles from various genres,such as Bollywood,politics,and *** proposed method’s accuracy for Hindi character recognition is 96.97%,which is good compared with baseline approaches,and system-generated summaries are compared to human *** evaluated results show a precision of 72%at a compression ratio of 50%and a precision of 60%at a compression ratio of 25%,in comparison to state-of-the-art methods,this is a decent result.

Smartphones as a means of communication are not only used to send and receive messages and make phone calls. Today's smartphones are also intended to store personal data and sensitive information hence it is vulnerable to be illegally accessed by others. Fingerprint as a biometric lock screen for smartphones can be trusted to ensure the security and privacy of smartphone users. A fingerprint is closely related to a user's identity. When using fingerprints, users provide their personal biometric pattern, unknowingly giving their privacy and making them vulnerable to unauthorized use of their biometric pattern. This study is designed to reveal the factors that influence users when using fingerprints as a smartphone lock, using eight variables adapted from previous research. The data analysis used is Partial Least Squares (PLS) analysis. The results of this study suggest that trust, attitudes, and perceived risk are the factors that influence users when using their fingerprint as a smartphone lock.

Structure and Control of Biology-inspired Networks

There is increasing interest in developing the theoretical foundations of networked control systems that illuminate how brain networks function so as to enable sensory perception, control of movement, memory and all the operations that are needed for animals to survive. The present paper proposes a biologically inspired network model featuring dynamic connections regulated by Hebbian learning. Drawing on the machinery of graph theory and classical control we show that our novel nonlinear model exhibits such biologically plausible features as bounded evolution, stability, resilience, and a kind of structural stability-meaning that perturbations of the model parameters leave the essential properties of the model in tact. The proposed network model involves generalized cactus graphs with multiple control input nodes, and it is shown that the properties of the network are resilient to various changes in network topology provided these changes preserve the generalized cactus structure. A particular example described in what follows is an idealized network model of the visual system of a macaque monkey. The model displays resilience to network disruptions such as might occur in a living organism due to disease or injury. A different model of the same type provides an example of a system that can perform data classification. © 2024, CC BY-NC-SA.

Distributed Denial of services (DDoS) attack is one of the most dangerous attacks that targeted servers. The main consequence of this attack is to prevent users from getting their legitimate services by bringing down targeted victim. CICFlowMeter tool generates bi-directional flows from packets. Each flow generates 83 of different features. The research focuses on 8 features which are active min (f1), active mean (f2), active max (f3), active std (f4), idle min (f5), idle mean (f6), idle max (f7), and idle std (f8). CICFlowMeter tool has several problems that affected on the detection accuracy of DDoS attacks. The idle and active based feature of Shannon entropy and sequential probability ratio test (SE-SPRT) approach was implemented in this research. The problems of original CICFlowMeter were presented, and the differences between original and revised version of CICFlowMeter tool were explored. The DARPA database and confusion matrix were used to evaluate the detection technique and present the comparison between two versions of CICFlowMeter. The detection method detected neptune and smurf attacks and had higher accuracy, f1-score, sensitivity, specificity, and precision when revised version of CICFlowMeter used to generate flows. However, the detection method failed to detect neptune attack and had higher miss-rate, lower accuracy, lower f1-score, and lower specificity, and lower precision when original version used in generating flows. © 2022 IEEE.

This paper proposes a novel human-robot coordination framework to enhance medical assistance during urgent disaster relief operations. Specifically, we propose to leverage a heterogeneous robotic system in which multiple UGVs and a UAV seamlessly coordinate with a medic to find and assist victims. The UGVs are tasked with exploring the environment, finding victims, performing basic triage operations, and reporting to a UAV. The UAV operates as a relay to quickly inform the medic about the location and status of victims, while providing an optimized route to follow. A task and motion planning (TAMP) approach is proposed to coordinate UGVs and the UAV with the medic. The problem is then cast as a Traveling Salesman Problem (TSP) incorporating medical policies from domain experts to define the best route for the medic to follow considering victims’ locations and their severity. Extensive simulations and experiments are performed to showcase the effectiveness of the proposed framework compared to different strategies in terms of task allocation and planning. The results of the proposed humanrobot triage approach shows that by strategically coordinating heterogeneous robotic systems it is possible to reduce the amount of time it takes to locate and assist casualties by an expert medic. Depression, a significant contributor to global suicide rates, poses unique diagnostic challenges in traditional clinical settings, resulting in frequently delayed diagnoses and potential patient misrepresentation. To address this issue, we presented an innovative prototype that combines edge computing and deep learning for improved and faster detection of depression through speech behavior analysis. Our model used a one-dimensional Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) with TensorFlow Lite on an NVIDIA Jetson Nano platform. A MAONO AU903 Studio-Quality USB Microphone was used to achieve optimal audio quality. By analyzing speech behavior, this setup effectively distinguished between depressive and non-depressive speech patterns. A data augmentation procedure that included noise in audio data increased the model's robustness. Because of its suitability and an extensive collection of interviews with subjects in various depressive states, the Distress Analysis Interview Corpus - Wizard of Oz (DAIC-WOZ) database was used for training and testing. The successful operation of the prototype demonstrates the method's diagnostic potential for clinical depression. While the developed model's accuracy could be improved by investigating alternative deep learning architectures, it provided a solid foundation for future development. The study emphasized the importance of further research into real-time depression prediction using speech analysis, which has the potential to revolutionize mental health diagnostics. © 2023 IEEE.

In existing secret medical-image sharing (SMIS) schemes, to protect and manage secret medical-images (SMIs), the sharing and recovery of each SMI are implemented by local servers of medical institutions. However, since a lot of SMIs are produced by personal smart terminal devices in Internet of Things (IoT) environment, directly implementing the sharing and recovery processes will cause excessive communication and computing burden for those local servers, which makes the existing SMIS schemes not suitable for IoT environment. To address the above issue, we propose an encrypted domain SMIS (Enc-SMIS) scheme with secure outsourcing computation for protecting and managing medical images in IoT environment. In the proposed scheme, the medical images are first encrypted using fully homomorphic encryption (FHE) and then outsourced to a cloud server for generating a set of image shares. Subsequently, these shares are stored separately in different local servers of medical institutions. Furthermore, the recovery process is also outsourced to the cloud server when doctors need to observe the patients' medical images. Compared with the existing SMIS schemes, the proposed Enc-SMIS scheme alleviates the computing and communication burden on local servers significantly with secure outsourcing computation in the semi-honest model, and thus supports the storage and management of medical images well in IoT environment. © 2014 IEEE.
