Top-k dominance (TKD) query is an extended query method of skyline query and top-k query, which reveals the top-k dominant individuals in an incomplete dataset by analyzing the dominance relationships between individuals and is a common decision tool in intelligent recommendation applications. This research proposes two parallel query algorithms based on Spark computing engine to address the shortcomings of the parallel top-k-dominated query algorithms for dynamic incomplete datasets. The designed model achieves good performance in terms of runtime performance compared to previous studies. © 2023 IEEE.

Nowadays, the grid computing environment faces many difficulties executing new jobs, especially jobs requiring large resource requirements and long execution times. This motivates researchers and scholars to find cheap and fast methods to improve the efficiency of grid environments. One of the cheap and fast methods is to implement job scheduling algorithms based on cheap and fast techniques. This paper proposes a new job ranking backfilling algorithm based on the job's weight and back propagation neural network. To define the weight of the job, first, the proposed model will use a clustering algorithm to cluster the job's dataset into groups, and then the groups will be ranked using an experimental ranking equation. A discrete event simulator is used to validate the proposed algorithm's capability and robustness. The average results revealed that the new algorithm outperforms previous algorithms. The improvement of the studied metrics is between 1.19 and 6.30, respectively. The results proved that the proposed model is efficient and can be used with low overhead in a real environment.

Since the 6G mobile wireless networks require the high-performances on both channel state estimations and information transmissions, the technique of integrated sensing and communication (ISAC) has attracted considerable research attention due to its ability to sense and communicate by sharing the same frequency band and hardware. However, how to jointly optimize the sensing and communication functions of the ISAC to support the 6G traffic transmissions over a time-varying wireless fading channel has imposed many new challenges not encountered before. To conquer these difficulties, in this paper we propose the ISAC scheme to jointly sense the channel state and transmit the wireless-streaming data using massive multiple-input and multiple-output (massive MIMO) communications over the Rician fading channel. First, we establish the system models for the ISAC scheme under the Rician fading wireless channel and the channel state estimation scheme using the radar sensing feedback. Second, we define the channel state estimation distortion and the capacity-distortion function of a massive MIMO channel to jointly measure the performances of sensing and communication in our ISAC scheme. Third, we integrate the capacity-distortion function with the finite blocklength coding (FBC) scheme by developing the concept of the ISAC-based E-effective capacity to implement the statistical delay and error-rate bounded provisioning for supporting the 6G traffic under our ISAC scheme. Finally, we use numerical analyses to validate and evaluate our proposed ISAC scheme with massive MIMO in the non-asymptotic regime.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a serious, long-term health problem that causes much pain and loss for the person with it and their family. Its early and accurate detection might result in a substantial reduction of the disease outcomes and consequences. Blood biosamples are a simple and inexpensive technique in medical testing. This paper proposes diagnostic models for blood biosamples based on federated learning (FL) and its modifications to detect AD early. Our experiments used blood biosample data sets from the ADNI website to evaluate our models. Our performance analysis indicates that our algorithms are more accurate and achieve an accuracy of 87% for early detection. © 2023 IEEE.

This study aims to improve breast cancer (BC) diagnosis through a novel multi-resolution Vision Transformer (ViT)-based framework with ensemble decision-making, addressing limitations in traditional single-magnification models. The proposed framework uses multiscale feature extraction at three magnification levels (L0, L1, L2 or 16x, 4x, 2x) to capture both fine-grained and high-level tumor features. A stacking ensemble method combines predictions from ViT models trained at these levels, improving classification robustness. Postprocessing techniques, including region-growing and fast-marching level set algorithms, refine whole-slide image (WSI) prediction and postprocessing quality. Performance was evaluated via metrics such as precision, recall, the F1 score, accuracy, and specificity across 50 trials with perturbed conditions. The framework achieved a top accuracy of 97.08%, with precision and recall above 94%. The suggested stack configuration outperformed individual models and other stacking configurations, demonstrating balanced performance with minimal variability. Statistical analysis highlighted the reliability and consistency of the framework under perturbed conditions. The multi-resolution ViT-based framework significantly improves BC classification by integrating multiscale analysis and ensemble decision-making. Its high accuracy and robustness make it a valuable tool for reducing interobserver variability in digital pathology workflows. © 2013 IEEE.

In the original publication, the author has found few errors in the figures 2, 4, 11 and 12 which significantly impact both the paper's quality and the reputation of the journal. These issues undermine the clarity of the methodology and the novelty of the research. 1. Towards an Analytical Definition of Sufficient Data

We show that, for each of five datasets of increasing complexity, certain training samples are more informative of class membership than others. These samples can be identified a priori to training by analyzing their position in reduced dimensional space relative to the classes’ centroids. Specifically, we demonstrate that for the datasets studied, samples that are nearer to their classes’ centroids are less informative than those that are furthest from them. For all five datasets studied, we show that there is no statistically significant difference between training on the entire training set and when excluding up to 2% of the data nearest to each class’s centroid. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd.

Mobile Edge Caching (MEC) emerges as a key technology in communication networks to minimize latency in handling user requests for high-demand, data-intensive services. Given the storage constraints of edge servers, it becomes imperative to dynamically cache the most popular content in a highly optimized and seamless fashion. To address this critical challenge, we leverage the capabilities of Graph Neural Networks (GNNs), renowned for their proficiency in modeling intricate interdependencies among users and content, inter-user interactions, and inter-content correlations. Existing GNN-based cashing solutions failed to properly manage computational complexity of the structural learning process, but instead mainly focused on enhancing the temporal learning aspects. Since edge servers are mainly resource-limited, it is crucial to reduce the complexity of models to reduce the train and test time. The paper addresses this gap. More specifically, capitalizing on the adaptive and scalable characteristics of GNNs, we propose the Temporal Dual Graph Attention Network (TDA-GNN) for efficient content popularity prediction in MEC networks. The proposed TDA-GNN framework employs two distinct attention units, recognizing the varied significance of neighbouring nodes and edge features in shaping node embeddings. Comparative analysis against a baseline architecture reveals that the proposed TDA-GNN framework boosts cache-hit rate. These findings underscore the potential of dual-attention mechanisms to significantly enhance MEC performance, promising smoother, faster access to content for mobile users.

Precise forecasting of renewable energy production is crucial for ensuring the reliable operation of the electricity grid. Developing more accurate predicive models and computational methodologies can enhance energy production and improve overall system stability. This paper introduces a novel computational approach utilizing quaternions to calculate expected solar irradiance on a given surface. The proposed method incorporates quaternion rotations and translation vectors to model the motion of astronomical objects, both independently and in relation to each other, a factor critical for accurate irradiance estimation. This approach has the potential to replace the commonly used equatorial coordinate system-based computations, offering improvements in computational scalability and efficiency. An additional advantage of the proposed quaternion-based calculation is its adaptability to estimate the irradiation received by solar panels on a satellite following an orbital trajectory. The article presents the calculation methodologies of both models, performs a comparative analysis of the computational results, and presents the differences in computational efficiency between the two approaches. © 2024, The Authors. Both data ferrying with disruption-tolerant networking (DTN) and mobile cellular base stations constitute important techniques for UAV-aided communication in situations of crises where standard communication infrastructure is unavailable. For optimal use of a limited number of UAVs, we propose providing both DTN and a cellular base station on each UAV. Here, DTN is used for large amounts of low-priority data, while capacity-constrained cell coverage remains reserved for emergency calls or command and control. We optimize cell coverage via a novel optimal transport-based formulation using alternating minimization, while for data ferrying we periodically deliver data between dynamic clusters by solving quadratic assignment problems. In our evaluation, we consider different scenarios with varying mobility models and a wide range of flight patterns. Overall, we tractably achieve optimal cell coverage under quality-of-service costs with DTN-based data ferrying, enabling large-scale deployment of UAV swarms for crisis communication.
