Non-Binary Low-Density Parity-Check (LDPC) codes have gained significant attention due to their remarkable error correction capabilities in various communication systems. Decoding algorithms play a pivotal role in realizing the potential of non-binary LDPC codes. This paper provides a comprehensive review and analysis of non-binary LDPC decoding algorithms, focusing on their efficiency, complexity, and performance. Furthermore, recent advancements and innovations in non-binary LDPC decoding algorithms are discussed, such as improved message passing strategies, layered decoding techniques, and adaptive algorithms. The review also highlights challenges and open research directions in non-binary LDPC decoding, such as mitigating error floors, reducing decoding complexity, and integrating with emerging communication technologies. Finally, the paper draws conclusions on the current state of non-binary LDPC decoding algorithms, underscoring their promising applications in wireless communication, visible light communication (VLC), and power line communication (PLC). Simulation results demonstrate a marked improvement in bit error rate performance for both VLC and PLC systems, highlighting the practical potential of these advanced decoding techniques.

Increasingly available ultrastructural data from a continuously growing diversity of experimental conditions are driving new opportunities for fruitful neuroscientific hypotheses tested in intracellular compartments such as the nanoscale roles of, e.g., the mitochondria. Reliable morphological statistics are based on achieving highly accurate semantic segmentations of EM images. The state-of-the-art deep CNNs can be somewhat brittle;they tend to provide coarse and high-frequency-oscillatory solutions with discontinuities and false positives even for simple mitochondria segmentation. Historically, the current state-of-the-art in medical image segmentation would involve some variant of the encoder-decoder architecture, such as the U-Net architecture. The SAM does not perform as well, since it has not been explicitly trained for the task and does not demonstrate user-interactive, over one billion annotations mostly for natural images. However, the SAM may be applied to segment anything, including medical image segmentation challenging new datasets. This work is aimed at the difficult task of implementing domain adaptation in mitochondria segmentation within EM images obtained from various tissues and species, using deep learning. We do a systematic study to assess SAM's ability to perform segmentation in medical images, measure its performance on volumetric EM datasets, and show that it is powerful at segmenting instances even under challenging imaging conditions. We provide a fine-tuning SAM which can be naturally trained by SAM at an exemplary scale, benefiting from a diverse and large dataset over one million image masks in 11 modalities. This model would be able to perform precise segmentation for a wide range of targets under various imaging conditions, at the level of performance of specialized U-Net models, or even better. Parts assembly clearance measurement is facing a trend towards high-precision and noncontact. This work aims to measure clearance by image processing based on machine vision. The machine vision system is to highlight the assembly clearance region. Hence, clearance regions are segmenting, and rotating to vertical, then get the geometric center of the region and the inclination relative to the horizontal direction, the two points intersecting the boundary of the region can be obtained through the linear relationship, the clearance width is the pixel distance between two points mapped to the actual width in the world coordinate system. We introduce a novel framework for analyzing reinforcement learning (RL) in continuous state-action spaces, and use it to prove fast rates of convergence in both off-line and on-line settings. Our analysis highlights two key stability properties, relating to how changes in value functions and/or policies affect the Bellman operator and occupation measures. We argue that these properties are satisfied in many continuous state-action Markov decision processes. Our analysis also offers fresh perspectives on the roles of pessimism and optimism in off-line and on-line RL. © 2024 Neural information processing systems foundation. All rights reserved.

Shipping safety is one of the factors restricting the development of navigation. In particular, the route near the shore is prone to unknown risks due to the existence of multiple types of ships, the density of ships, the shielding between ships, and other reasons. This paper presents a method for detecting medium-range ships, which can improve security for ships. This method is based on the You Only Look Once Version 5 network (YOLOv5). To improve the accuracy, the coordinate attention model is integrated into the detection network. The main research content and experimental work of this paper are as follows. Firstly, the YOLOv5 network and spatial attention mechanism are analyzed. Then, detection experiments were carried out based on YOLOv5 and Singapore Maritime Data Set (SMD). Then, the coordinate attention model was used to improve the network. Finally, by adjusting training parameters and improving attention, the mAP of test results of the object detection network reaches 73%, and the feasibility of object detection of the YOLOv5 algorithm with coordinate attention is confirmed. © 2022 ACM.

The advent of Non-Terrestrial Networks (NTN) represents a compelling response to the International Mobile Telecommunications 2030 (IMT-2030) framework, enabling the delivery of advanced, seamless connectivity that supports reliable, sustainable, and resilient communication systems. Nevertheless, the integration of NTN with Terrestrial Networks (TN) necessitates considerable alterations to the existing cellular infrastructure in order to address the challenges intrinsic to NTN implementation. Additionally, Ambient Backscatter Communication (AmBC), which utilizes ambient Radio Frequency (RF) signals to transmit data to the intended recipient by altering and reflecting these signals, exhibits considerable potential for the effective integration of NTN and TN. Furthermore, AmBC is constrained by its limitations regarding power, interference, and other related factors. In contrast, the application of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within wireless networks demonstrates significant potential for predictive analytics through the use of extensive datasets. AI techniques enable the real-time optimization of network parameters, mitigating interference and power limitations in AmBC. These predictive models also enhance the adaptive integration of NTN and TN, driving significant improvements in network reliability and Energy Efficiency (EE). In this paper, we present a comprehensive examination of how the commixture of AI, AmBC, and NTN can facilitate the integration of NTN and TN. Various software and systems engineering scenarios rely on the systematic construction of consistent graph models. However, automatically generating a diverse set of consistent graph models for complex domain specifications is challenging. First, the graph generation problem must be specified with mathematical precision. Moreover, graph generation is a computationally complex task, which necessitates specialized logic solvers. Refinery is a novel open-source software framework to automatically synthesize a diverse set of consistent domain-specific graph models. The framework offers an expressive high-level specification language using partial models to succinctly formulate a wide range of graph generation challenges. Moreover, it provides a modern cloud-based architecture for a scalable graph solver as a service, which uses logic reasoning rules to efficiently synthesize a diverse set of solutions to graph generation problems by partial model refinement. A large number of devices use the Dynamic Host Control Protocol (DHCP) protocol to obtain network configurations like IP address, gateway, Domain Name System (DNS) address, etc. However, the security aspect was not considered thoroughly during its design phase. As a result, it has several very lucrative vulnerabilities to many attackers. In this analysis, we discuss the major vulnerabilities of the DHCP protocol that can result in different attacks. These vulnerabilities include a lack of authentication, confidentiality, and integrity. We also explain different attacks that can be performed by exploiting these vulnerabilities, like rogue DHCP server attacks, DHCP starvation attacks, or replay attacks. Furthermore, we summarize the countermeasures proposed by the researchers to nullify and mitigate these attacks. Moreover, the advantages and drawbacks of the countermeasures are also discussed in this paper.
