Wireless Sensor and Internet of Things (WSIoT) networks are characterized by nodes scattered throughout the environment, posing a significant challenge when it comes to battery replacement. The task of developing an algorithm that effectively reduces energy consumption in IoT networks through the utilization of artificial intelligence and fuzzy logic is a formidable one. Heuristic algorithms emerge as valuable tools in this context, capable of swiftly addressing non-deterministic polynomial problems or approximating optimal solutions with remarkable accuracy. Conversely, mathematical optimization approaches often falter due to their sluggishness or inefficiency, rendering them less suited for the dynamic demands of IoT networks. This study embarks on a novel approach, leveraging the synergy of fuzzy clustering to intricately connect sensors to the network and particle optimization to approximate the initial values of head clusters within the realm of WSIoT. A comprehensive evaluation of our proposed strategy is meticulously conducted through extensive simulations utilizing the NS2 simulator. In this evaluation, we distinguish our algorithm from existing methods, including IoTbWSN and REcsIoT. The results of this comparative analysis are illuminating. In contrast to other methodologies, our proposed approach demonstrates a notable 9.57% improvement in network throughput and a substantial 8.47% reduction in energy consumption. This signifies a remarkable leap forward in the quest to address the challenges posed by energy consumption and battery replacement within the complex landscape of IoT networks. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2023.

The added value of the information transmitted in a cybernetic environment has resulted in a sophisticated malicious actions scenario aimed at data exfiltration. In situations with advanced actors, like APTs, such actions use obfuscation techniques of harmful activities as persistence assurance on strategic targets. The MADEX and NERD architectures proposed flow analysis solutions to detect rootkits that hide network traffic;however, it presents some operational cost, either in traffic volume or due to lack of aggregated information. In that regard, this work changes and improves user flow analysis techniques to eliminate impacts on network traffic, with data enrichment on local and remote bases, detection of domains consulted by rootkits and aggregation of information to generate threat intelligence, while maintaining high performance. The results show the possibility of aggregating information to data flows used by rootkits in order to have effective cyber defense actions against cybernetic threats without major impacts on the existing network infrastructure. © 2023, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Navigating the complex legal and regulatory landscape requires a sophisticated platform that is not only comprehensive but also user-friendly and enables seamless analysis and document comparison in the legal realm. To address this challenging requirement, this research is dedicated to the user experience (UX) design of state-of the-art cloud-native mobile applications specifically designed for legal and regulatory harmonization. The methodology used is based on design thinking principles and takes advantage of the benefits of cloud computing. These include, but are not limited to, scalability, reliability, and security. The result is a solution that is not only powerful but also cost-effective. The core of this application follows a user-centered design philosophy and involves potential users closely in the design process. A comprehensive evaluation is performed using the System Usability Scale (SUS) methodology to measure the effectiveness and usability of the application. The results of this comprehensive approach are convincing. The application has an impressive 95.5% usage rate, indicating strong user engagement. Furthermore, user satisfaction ratings are particularly high and transformative impact of this application in a complex environment of legal harmonization. Through its innovative design, seamless functionality, and user-centric approach, this application has proven to be not only a technical solution, but also a catalyst for positive change in the legal and regulatory harmonization process. © 2023 IEEE.

Coffee beans are one of the high-value commodities in Indonesia, but the sorting method for the quality of coffee beans still uses visual methods and sieves with mechanical machines. This study aims to provide an alternative to classifying coffee beans using Deep Learning algorithms, such as the ResNet-18 and MobileNetV2. The dataset used is USK-COFFEE which consists of two classes, the normal coffee bean class, and the defect coffee bean class. The models were trained using the balanced and imbalanced datasets, meaning that two scenarios were performed. From the results of this study, the accuracy value for the ResNet-18 model was 91.50% when trained on the balanced dataset and 90.87% on the imbalanced dataset. It outperformed the MobileNetV2 architecture, which only achieved 0.8125 and 0.8112 accuracy scores when trained on the balanced and imbalanced datasets, respectively. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2023.

This study presents a deep learning framework optimizing 3D clothing models for VR, using a CNN to significantly reduce the triangle count of models from DeepFashion3D and CAP-UDF datasets. Achieving a balance between efficiency and detail, it cuts triangle count from over 160,000 to below 4,000, maintaining high DPI. The approach automates optimization, promising scalability and efficiency in VR fashion, setting a foundation for future 3D content development, enhancing virtual garment realism and interactivity.

Hyperautomation acts as a real digital transformation with the support of several cutting-edge cognitive computation methods that include robotic process automation, natural language processing, artificial intelligence, and other emerging ones, which is conducive to processing complex industrial processes via extending the range of various data-driven cognitive decision-making algorithms. The study of air quality evaluations (AQE) plays a significant role in ensuring healthy atmospheric environments. In view of the objective existence of uncertainties, AQE can be modeled and addressed by a typical data-driven automated decision-making problem, and hyperautomation can provide a reasonable solution via associating with a variety of techniques. This article explores hyperautomation for AQE via evidential three-way large-scale group decision-making (LSGDM) in an intuitionistic fuzzy (IF) setting. First, the notion of intuitionistic fuzzy sets (IFSs) is incorporated into the paradigm of multi-granularity (MG) three-way decisions (TWD), and the model of adjustable MG IF probabilistic rough sets (PRSs) is developed. Second, an IF clustering analysis with the improved technique for order preference by similarity to ideal solution (TOPSIS) method is conducted to affirm representative members within a decision group. Third, a novel IF LSGDM method is built via adjustable MG IF PRSs and the evidence reasoning (ER) method. Finally, a case study in the setting of AQE is studied by using the presented evidential three-way LSGDM method. Corresponding experimental analyses are carried out for illustrating the efficiency of hyperautomation for AQE. In general, the proposed method improves the performance of information fusion by virtue of adjustable MG IF PRSs, and the TOPSIS method avoids the influence of subjective factors on decision results. The existence of fine-grained image classification supporting smart retail provides effectiveness in recognizing products with high similarity. However, the generic classification method performs poorly in identifying products from a subordinate category. This paper aims to identify augmentation techniques to leverage the Vision Transformer (ViT) model to classify the fine-grained grocery product, which involves embedding patches and transformer encoders to extract the main features. First, we develop a fine-grained image dataset with ColorJitter, CutOut, and combining both augmentations. Secondly, we perform experiments and analysis of ViT size, embedded patch size and image size in the patch embedding process. Lastly, the ViT model are evaluated according to the image sizes 224, 384, and 512 in accuracy, loss, and confusion matrix. The highest accuracy was obtained at 0.9922. The ColorJitter and CutOut improved the confusion matrix in ViT-B/16 and ViT-L/16 with an image size of 384 and 512. The results show that both augmentations in the ViT model are able to distinguish fine-grained grocery products. © 2023 IEEE.

Universities can employ information technology as one means of achieving their goals and objectives. Universities can get advantages from information technology, such as effective resource management and information management for decision-making. However, don't forget that the campus must consider what technology is appropriate to assist them achieve their goals, particularly in the current industrial era 4.0 where technology is available with many different choices. The campus requires an enterprise architecture in order to design, manage, and coordinate information technology infrastructure, applications, and processes strategically and thoroughly. The adoption of enterprise information system architecture (EA) is also intended to improve the quality of services provided to internal and external stakeholders. In this case, Enterprise Architecture can help an organization to match its information technology resources with business processes and strategies to achieve their goals. This research was conducted using TOGAF ADM, also known as the Open Group Architecture Framework Architecture Development Method. Domain data can be shifted in any direction so it will be shared in different distributions to its original domain. This could be a problem since the model was trained with different distributions. It is found that adversarial domain adaptation using domain adversarial neural networks (DANN) can help to solve this problem on some scale. DANN can minimize the discrepancy between source and target data so the model can work well in both domains. The experiment is done by utilizing MNIST dataset that shifted into some conditions. In a condition when the shifting of distribution is too far, DANN is struggling to maintain the knowledge extracted from source data which leads to underperformance in the source and target domain. In contrast, when the shifting is closer, DANN can easily fit the model so it can perform well in both domains. It proves DANN is one of the good approaches to performing domain adaptation in small discrepancies. © 2023 IEEE.

Water quality inspection (WQI) is one of the primary ways to ensure the safe utilization of water resources, and complicated data modeling, fusion and analysis play a significant role in seeking the resource with the best water quality. Nevertheless, the challenges of missing data, relatively large differences in decision results and bounded rationality owned by decision-makers (DMs) in terms of WQI still exist nowadays. Thus, from the aspect of stable and behavioral decision-making in multi-granularity incomplete intuitionistic fuzzy information systems (MG-IIFISs), the paper investigates a comprehensive multi-attribute group decision-making (MAGDM) approach for the application of WQI. First, the concept of MG-IIFISs is built by modeling MAGDM problems with intuitionistic fuzzy numbers (IFNs), then a new transformation scheme is constructed for transforming MG-IIFISs into multi-granularity intuitionistic fuzzy information systems (MG-IFISs) based on the similarity principle. Second, three types of multigranulation intuitionistic fuzzy probabilistic rough sets (MG IF PRSs) are developed by referring to the MULTIMOORA (Multi-Objective Optimization by Ratio Analysis plus the full MULTIplicative form) method. Afterwards, attribute weights are objectively calculated based on the best-worst method (BWM), and a new stable and behavioral MAGDM approach is constructed by means of the TODIM (an acronym in Portuguese for interactive multi-criteria decision-making) method. At last, a case study in the setting of WQI is conducted with the support of a UCI data set, and sensitivity analysis, comparative analysis and experimental analysis are investigated to display the validity of the proposed approach. In general, the proposed approach improves the stability of decision results via MULTIMOORA and BWM, and also fully considers the bounded rationality of DMs' psychological behaviors from the aspect of the TODIM method, which has certain advantages in the community of MAGDM studie
