A Learner Model Integrating Cognitive and Metacognitive And Its Application on Scratch Programming Projects

learner’s cognitive and metacognitive are key personal profile for individualized teaching. To evaluate learner’s comprehensive characteristics, existing learner model were reviewed. Two challenges of constructing an accurate and comprehensive learner model integrating cognitive and metacognitive were summarized. A plan of constructing a comprehensive learner model was made based on analysis of existing massive online learning environment, sensor information technology and educational data-mining. As a case study, a method of how to map learning data onto learners’ cognitive and metacognitive was proposed based on an analysis of a number of pupils’ Scratch projects. Three mapping table were established. Pupil’s cognitive skill could be evaluated from technology shown from Scratch project, namely, data structure, algorithm, computational practices and overall evaluation. Content shown from Scratch project were used to infer pupil’s cognitive style. Meta-cognitive ability can be measured from computational practices and behavior in programming process.

In the research and application of Agent-Based Models (ABM), parameter calibration is an important content. Based on the existing state transfer equations that link the micro-parameters and macro-states of the multi-agent system, this paper further proposes to introduce Reinforcement Learning when calibrating the parameters. The state transfer of the agent after learning is used to calibrate the micro-parameters of ABM, and the interaction between each agent and multiple other agents is expressed as the parameters of the agent. The application case study of population migration demonstrates that our method can achieve high accuracy and low computational complexity.

Anti-saturation attack (ASA) strategy is vital for the survival of a warship group, and attracts the focus of many researchers. In this paper, the dynamics of ASA is formulated as a Markov Decision Process (MDP) with an enhanced states space since those characters are involved, such as the formation and detection and interception areas of warship group. A reinforcement learning method (Double Deep Q-leaning, DDQN) is developed to solve the problem and deal with the curse of dimensionality whereby the cost-to-go value is calculated by a marine engagement simulation system. A heuristic defense algorithm guided by field expert knowledge is designed for comparison. The experimental results show that the DDQN method performs better in anti-saturation attack scenarios.

As renewable power generation directly affects the customers' traditional electricity behavior and then offsets the power load, this paper proposes a load curve modeling method for renewable power customers based on the behavior analysis. Firstly, customers' active behavior is represented by the quantity of active customer households. Based on the analysis of customer behaviors, a modeling method for the quantity of active customer households is proposed based on Markov Chain Monte Carlo method. Then, with the inputs as the quantity of active customer households and time of photovoltaic power generation, an inference model based on fuzzy logic is proposed to get the quantity of customer household starting electrical appliances. By combing the average usage time of electrical appliances, load characteristics are analyzed based on usage state of electrical appliance of distributed power customers. Finally, the simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

As the number of devices connected to the Internet of things (IoT) surges, the amount of data explodes. Therefore it not only increases the bandwidth load of data transmission but also aggravates the computing and storage load of a cloud platform. At the same time, the traditional computing paradigm centered on cloud computing cannot meet the real-time requirements in many application scenarios. The emergence of edge computing can solve the problems of realtime data processing and network bandwidth occupation in the current IoT scene. In this paper, according to the characteristics of IoT, such as fragmented data, heterogeneous network, and limited energy consumption, the architecture of an IoT edge computing system is constructed to suit better an IoT scene. In addition, the application of edge computing key technologies such as virtualization, edge intelligence, computing offload, collaborative scheduling and micro-services in resource-constrained IoT scenarios is analyzed in detail. Finally, the functions and application of energy consumption monitoring and optimization to a central air-conditioning system are analyzed and summarized, which is a typical application of edge computing in the context of the IoT.

Regarding human-machine collaborative task, generated trajectories of a robot manipulator should be able to avoid joint limits and singularities, but the 6 Degrees of Freedom(DoF) or lower DoF manipulators encounter difficulties in many schemes. In this paper, research is implemented on the methods of trajectory planning and motion control on the newly human-machine collaborative 7-DoF Sawyer manipulator. We try to pay more attention to these approaches and find a better combination between trajectory planners and motion controllers for Sawyer manipulator. First of all, comparison is proposed between the methods about trajectory planning in task space and joint space, drawing a conclusion that the latter has the advantage of quickness and smoothness on trajectories in real time. Next, we choose to plan trajectory in the joint space by interpolating positions and orientations. Three approaches, i.e., trapezoidal velocity trajectory, cubic polynomial trajectory and basic spline trajectory, are applied to interpolate positions. Experimental results show that it results in the smoothest trajectory using basic spline trajectory planning. We also compare linear and nonlinear orientation interpolations to address the angle wrapping issue, which leads to difficulties in smooth orientation interpolation between several waypoints. Combining polynomial trajectory planning methods with the proportional-derivative (PD) motion controller and the computed-torque motion controller, we focus on the performance of the two different combinations. It is found that trajectories with computed-torque controller have shorter path with a congruous convergence on joint position, and more accurate trajectories with less overshoots in position than others.

Resilient 2-∞ filtering with dwell-time-based communication scheduling

This paper is concerned with the resilient filtering problem for a class of discrete-time stochastic nonlinear systems with both time-varying delays and probabilistic distributed delays. In order to save the limited communication resource, stochastic communication protocols (SCPs) with multiple rules governed by a switching signal are employed to schedule the data transmission between the sensors and the filter for complying with different network scenarios and preserving the desired performance. An approach based on average dwell time (ADT) is utilized to establish the rule of SCPs for different scenarios. The purpose of the filtering problem is to design a resilient filter such that, under the regulation of SCPs, the dynamics of the filtering error is exponentially mean-square stable, and satisfies a prescribed disturbance attenuation level in a 2-∞ sense. A sufficient condition for the exponential mean-square stability is first derived and the 2-∞ performance is then guaranteed. In terms of certain linear matrix inequalities, the solvability of the addressed problem is discussed and the explicit expression of the desired resilient filter is also parameterized. Finally, a numerical example is provided to demonstrate the validity of the proposed design approach. © 2020 Elsevier Ltd

The influence of color temperature mismatch in star simulator on positioning accuracy and magnitude measurement by star sensor

During the calibrating of star sensor, the calibration accuracy is greatly affected by the mismatch between the color temperature of the light and the to-be-measured star, which further affects the attitude measurement accuracy. This paper studied the near-infrared spectra of stars with different color temperatures, and analyzed the errors on star positioning and magnitude measurement of star sensor due to the color temperature mismatch. The results showed that in the central field of view, the spot centroid deviation caused by spectral mismatch is smaller than that in the edge field of *** the defocus of the imaging surface also affects the spot centroid deviation. Besides, when calibrating with 6000K color temperature light, the maximum measurement error can reach -1.9126 magnitude.

Sample generation is an effective method to improve the performance of hyperspectral image classification by generating virtual samples for training sample expansion in the training process of classification. However, there are some defects existing in the previous sample generation methods including the lack of spatial information, the redundant generation and the damage of the original spectral components. In this paper, we propose conditional band selection generative adversarial net, named CBS-GAN, to handle this problem. Firstly, the band selection net of CBS-GAN is utilized to avoid redundant bands and keep original spectral information, then the generation net of CBS-GAN generates the spatial-spectral data blocks by selected bands for sample generation. The experiments of classification are also used to demonstrate the availability of virtual samples generated by our method.

A new concept of a synchronous detector for Giant Magneto-Impedance (GMI) sensors is presented. This concept combines a lock-in amplifier, with outstanding capabilities, high speed and a feedback approach that ensures the amplitude detection with easily adjustable gain. The synchronous detector is capable of measuring high-frequency and very low amplitude signals without the use of diode-based active rectifiers or analog switches. In comparison with most of the commercially available diode-based peak detectors, the linearity of the synchronous detector is generally better, especially for low level amplitudes. The synchronous detector has been used for the amplitude measurement of single frequency sine signal and for the demodulation of amplitude-modulated signal. It has also been successfully integrated in a GMI sensor prototype. Magnetic field measurements in open- and closed-loop of this sensor have been conducted. The measured sensitivity was about 1.02 V/Oe in open-loop while it was 0.12V/Oe in close-loop. The above research provides technical accumulation for the design of sensor nodes based on GMI sensor wireless sensor networks. © 2018 Technical Committee on control Theory, Chinese Association of automation.
