Indoor Uncertain Semantic Trajectory Similarity Join

With the widespread deployment of indoor positioning systems, an unprecedented scale of indoor trajectories is being produced. By considering the inherent uncertainties and the text information contained in such an indoor trajectory, a new definition named Indoor Uncertain Semantic Trajectory is defined in this paper. In this paper, we focus on a new primitive, yet quite essential query named Indoor Uncertain Semantic Trajectory Similarity Join (IUST-Join for short), which is to match all similar pairs of indoor uncertain semantic trajectories from two sets. IUST-Join targets a number of essential indoor applications. With these applications in mind, we provide a purposeful definition of an indoor uncertain semantic trajectory similarity metric named IUS. To process IUST-Join more efficiently, both an inverted index on indoor uncertain semantic trajectories named 3IST and the first acceleration strategy are proposed to form a filtering-and-verification framework, where most invalid pairs of indoor uncertain semantic trajectories are pruned at quite low computation cost. And based on this filtering-and-verification framework, we present a highly-efficient algorithm named Indoor Uncertain Semantic Trajectory Similarity Join Processing (USP for short). In addition, lots of novel and effective acceleration strategies are proposed and embedded in the USP algorithm. Thanks to these techniques, both the time complexity and the time overhead of the USP algorithm are further reduced. The results of extensive experiments demonstrate the superior performance of the proposed work.

The pandemic creates a more complicated providence of medical assistance and diagnosis procedures. In the world, Covid-19, Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS Cov-2), and plague are widely known pandemic disease desperations. Due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic tragedies, various medical diagnosis models and intelligent computing solutions are proposed for medical applications. In this era of computer-based medical environment, conventional clinical solutions are surpassed by many Machine Learning and Deep Learning-based COVID-19 diagnosis models. Anyhow, many existing models are developing lab-based diagnosis environments. Notably, the Gated Recurrent Unit-based Respiratory Data Analysis (GRU-RE), Intelligent Unmanned Aerial Vehicle-based Covid Data Analysis (Thermal Images) (I-UVAC), and Convolutional Neural Network-based computer Tomography Image Analysis (CNN-CT) are enriched with lightweight image data analysis techniques for obtaining mass pandemic data at real-time conditions. However, the existing models directly deal with bulk images (thermal data and respiratory data) to diagnose the symptoms of COVID-19. Against these works, the proposed spectacle thermal image data analysis model creates an easy and effective way of disease diagnosis deployment strategies. Particularly, the mass detection of disease symptoms needs a more lightweight equipment setup. In this proposed model, each patient's thermal data is collected via the spectacles of medical staff, and the data are analyzed with the help of a complex set of capsule network functions. Comparatively, the conventional capsule network functions are enriched in this proposed model using adequate sampling and data reduction solutions. In this way, the proposed model works effectively for mass thermal data diagnosis applications. TRS Scheduling for Improved QoS Performance in Cloud System

Numerous methods are analysed in detail to improve task schedulingand data security performance in the cloud environment. The methodsinvolve scheduling according to the factors like makespan, waiting time,cost, deadline, and popularity. However, the methods are inappropriate forachieving higher scheduling performance. Regarding data security, existingmethods use various encryption schemes but introduce significant serviceinterruption. This article sketches a practical Real-time Application CentricTRS (Throughput-Resource utilization–Success) Scheduling with Data Security(RATRSDS) model by considering all these issues in task scheduling anddata security. The method identifies the required resource and their claim timeby receiving the service requests. Further, for the list of resources as services,the method computes throughput support (Thrs) according to the number ofstatements executed and the complete statements of the service. Similarly, themethod computes Resource utilization support (Ruts) according to the idletime on any duty cycle and total servicing time. Also, the method computesthe value of Success support (Sus) according to the number of completions forthe number of allocations. The method estimates the TRS score (ThroughputResource utilization Success) for different resources using all these supportmeasures. According to the value of the TRS score, the services are rankedand scheduled. On the other side, based on the requirement of service requests,the method computes Requirement Support (RS). The selection of service isperformed and allocated. Similarly, choosing the route according to the RouteSupport Measure (RSM) enforced route security. Finally, data security hasgets implemented with a service-based encryption technique. The RATRSDSscheme has claimed higher performance in data security and scheduling.

All the software products developed will need testing to ensure the quality and accuracy of the product. It makes the life of testers much easier when they can optimize on the effort spent and predict defects for the upcoming modules in the Agile era. The functionality being discussed in this paper is to predict the defects using Random Forest Algorithm. Predictive analytics draws on information from the past to create forecasts about the outcomes of future events. Product team always have the difficulty in delivering the product as per schedule. As we are in the agile era, the requirement keeps changing and team is unsure on upcoming releases. Prediction helps the team to focus on the complex and error prone modules in upcoming releases. The Predictive analytics model designed, can predict defects with an accuracy rate of 88% with the help of historical data. The nonlinear filtering problem has enduringly been an active research topic in both academia and industry due to its ever-growing theoretical importance and practical *** main objective of nonlinear filtering is to infer the states of a nonlinear dynamical system of interest based on the available noisy measurements. In recent years, the advance of network communication technology has not only popularized the networked systems with apparent advantages in terms of installation,cost and maintenance, but also brought about a series of challenges to the design of nonlinear filtering algorithms, among which the communication constraint has been recognized as a dominating concern. In this context, a great number of investigations have been launched towards the networked nonlinear filtering problem with communication constraints, and many samplebased nonlinear filters have been developed to deal with the highly nonlinear and/or non-Gaussian scenarios. The aim of this paper is to provide a timely survey about the recent advances on the sample-based networked nonlinear filtering problem from the perspective of communication constraints. More specifically, we first review three important families of sample-based filtering methods known as the unscented Kalman filter, particle filter,and maximum correntropy filter. Then, the latest developments are surveyed with stress on the topics regarding incomplete/imperfect information, limited resources and cyber ***, several challenges and open problems are highlighted to shed some lights on the possible trends of future research in this realm.

The field of sentiment analysis(SA)has grown in tandem with the aid of social networking platforms to exchange opinions and *** people share their views and ideas around the world through social media like Facebook and *** goal of opinion mining,commonly referred to as sentiment analysis,is to categorise and forecast a target’s *** on if they provide a positive or negative perspective on a given topic,text documents or sentences can be *** compared to sentiment analysis,text categorization may appear to be a simple process,but number of challenges have prompted numerous studies in this area.A feature selection-based classification algorithm in conjunction with the firefly with levy and multilayer perceptron(MLP)techniques has been proposed as a way to automate sentiment analysis(SA).In this study,online product reviews can be enhanced by integrating classification and feature *** firefly(FF)algorithm was used to extract features from online product reviews,and a multi-layer perceptron was used to classify sentiment(MLP).The experiment employs two datasets,and the results are assessed using a variety of *** account of these tests,it is possible to conclude that the FFL-MLP algorithm has the better classification performance for Canon(98%accuracy)and iPod(99%accuracy).

Resource investment for DDoS attack resistant SDN: a practical assessment

Software-defined networks(SDNs) present a novel network architecture that is widely used in various datacenters. However, SDNs also suffer from many types of security threats, among which a distributed denial of service(DDoS) attack, which aims to drain the resources of SDN switches and controllers,is one of the most common. Once the switch or controller is damaged, the network services can be *** defense schemes against DDoS attacks have been proposed from the perspective of attack detection;however, such defense schemes are known to suffer from a time consuming and unpromising accuracy, which could result in an unavailable network service before specific countermeasures are taken. To address this issue through a systematic investigation, we propose an elaborate resource-management mechanism against DDoS attacks in an SDN. Specifically, by considering the SDN topology, we leverage the M/M/c queuing model to measure the resistance of an SDN to DDoS attacks. Network administrators can therefore invest a reasonable number of resources into SDN switches and SDN controllers to defend against DDoS attacks while guaranteeing the quality of service(QoS). Comprehensive analyses and empirical data-based experiments demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Drug-Target Interactions Prediction Based on Signed Heterogeneous Graph Neural Networks

Drug-target interactions(DTIs) prediction plays an important role in the process of drug *** computational methods treat it as a binary prediction problem, determining whether there are connections between drugs and targets while ignoring relational types information. Considering the positive or negative effects of DTIs will facilitate the study on comprehensive mechanisms of multiple drugs on a common target, in this work, we model DTIs on signed heterogeneous networks, through categorizing interaction patterns of DTIs and additionally extracting interactions within drug pairs and target protein pairs. We propose signed heterogeneous graph neural networks(SHGNNs), further put forward an end-to-end framework for signed DTIs prediction, called SHGNN-DTI,which not only adapts to signed bipartite networks, but also could naturally incorporate auxiliary information from drug-drug interactions(DDIs) and protein-protein interactions(PPIs). For the framework, we solve the message passing and aggregation problem on signed DTI networks, and consider different training modes on the whole networks consisting of DTIs, DDIs and PPIs. Experiments are conducted on two datasets extracted from Drug Bank and related databases, under different settings of initial inputs, embedding dimensions and training modes. The prediction results show excellent performance in terms of metric indicators, and the feasibility is further verified by the case study with two drugs on breast cancer.

Optimal weight support vector regression ensemble with cluster-based subsampling for electricity price forecasting

Accurate prediction of short-term electricity price is the key to obtain economic benefit and also an important index of power system planning and management. Support vector regression (SVR) based ensemble works have gained remarkable achievements in terms of high accuracy and steady performance, but they are highly dependent on data representativeness and have a high computational complexity O (k ∗ N 3) of data samples and parameter selection. To further improve the data representativeness and reduce its computational complexity, this paper develops a new approach to forecast electricity price via optimal weighted ensemble. In the model, the cluster-based subsampling algorithm is proposed to categorize the inputs being seasonally decomposed into several groups, and representative data are drawn from each group in a certain proportion to ensure that each subset trained with SVR has the same representativeness and features. Moreover, the optimal weighted combination method is presented to assign weights to the sub-SVRs to obtain the optimal support vector regression ensemble model (OWSSVRE). The experimental results show that the improved support vector regression ensemble model with the same features and representativeness of the subset has better performance in electricity price forecasting. As a result, it is suitable to support decision making in the energy and other sectors. © 2024 - IOS Press. All rights reserved.
