A Digital Twin and Consensus Empowered Cooperative Control Framework for Platoon-Based Autonomous Driving

Platoon-based autonomous driving is indispensable for traffic automation,but it confronts substantial constraints in rugged terrains with unreliable links and scarce communication *** paper proposes a novel hierarchical Digital Twin(DT)and consensus empowered cooperative control framework for safe driving in harsh ***,leveraging intra-platoon information exchange,one platoon-level DT is constructed on the leader and multiple vehicle-level DTs are distributed among platoon *** leader first makes critical platoon-driving decisions based on the platoon-level ***,considering the impact of unreliable links on the platoon-level DT accuracy and the consequent risk of unsafe decision-making,a distributed consensus scheme is proposed to negotiate critical decisions *** successful negotiation,vehicles proceed to execute critical decisions,relying on their vehicle-level ***,a Space-Air-Ground-Integrated-Network(SAGIN)enabled information exchange is utilized to update the platoon-level DT for subsequent safe decision-making in scenarios with unreliable links,no roadside units,and obstructed ***,based on this framework,an adaptive platooning scheme is designed to minimize total delay and ensure driving *** results indicate that our proposed scheme improves driving safety by 21.1％and reduces total delay by 24.2％in harsh areas compared with existing approaches.

Understanding the intricate relationship between brain activations and muscle activations during motor tasks is crucial for elucidating motor control mechanisms and designing effective rehabilitation strategies. In this study, we investigated this relationship using functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS) and surface electromyography (sEMG) technologies. Three healthy male subjects performed lower-limb motor tasks while their brain activations and muscle activations were recorded simultaneously. The fNIRS data were converted to optical densities and filtered by lowpass filter, detrending, and short-separation regression to remove artifacts. The filtered signals were fed to a general linear model with the desired hemodynamic responses (dHRFs) constructed with Balloon model and simulated physiological noises reconstructed with the parameters obtained from the spectrum analysis of baseline signals. Despite the extracted hemodynamic responses from fNIRS data, sEMG signals were lowpass and analyzed to detect muscle activations. Results revealed that cerebral activations during lateral leg flexion tasks were similar yet only partially consistent with those observed in stand-up tasks. Significant correlations between brain and muscle activations were also observed, highlighting the complex interplay between central and peripheral neural mechanisms during motor control. These findings provide valuable insights into the neural basis of motor control and have implications for developing personalized rehabilitation interventions and assistive technologies to enhance motor function in clinical populations. © 2024 IEEE.

We study the efficient approximation algorithm for max-covering circle problem. Given a set of weighted points in the plane and a circle with specified size, max-covering circle problem is to find the proper place where the center of the circle is located so that the total weight of the points covered by the circle is maximized. Our core approach is to approximate the circle with a symmetrical rectilinear polygon (SRP). We first present a method to construct the circumscribed SRP of a given circle and disclose their area relationship. Then, we convert max-covering SRP problem to SRP intersection problem, which can be efficiently solved with simple partition and modification based on the existing method. Finally, the optimal solution returned from max-covering SRP problem can be used to produce an approximate answer to max-covering circle problem. We prove that for most of the inputs, our algorithm can give a (1 - Ε) approximation to the optimal solution, which only needs O(nΕ-1logn+nΕ-1log(1Ε)) time for unit points and o(nΕ-2logn) time for weighted points. © 2024, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

PALCT: vehicle-to-vehicle communication based on pseudonym assignment and encryption scheme using delay minimisation cover tree algorithm

Vehicle-to-vehicle communication is one of the new paradigms of networking, which should be secure, fast, and efficient. In this paper, we propose a framework that implements the pseudonym-based authentication scheme in which communication among vehicles is encrypted by using a matrix array symmetric key (MASK), digital signature algorithm (DSA), and intelligent water drop (IWD). The proposed security scheme also ensures the handling of many security attacks like key-guessing, non-repudiation, replay, and modification. In the proposed scheme, to preserve the identity of the vehicle, we have provided the different pseudonyms for each vehicle in the network that ensure secure communication among vehicles. Furthermore, the proposed delay minimisation cover tree algorithm ensures the issue of timed delay during vehicle-to-vehicle communication. In this algorithm, we have used Dijkstra’s algorithm for finding the optimal shortest path during vehicular communication. The results obtained show that the proposed scheme is effective and efficient, as it reduces the time delay by 4% for 140 vehicle nodes and 28.4% for 1000 vehicle nodes. Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) is a neurodevelopment-based disability caused by variations in the brain. This may cause impact on social skills and communication of an individual. Autism is a highly challenging issue to diagnose at the early stages. ASD is one of the important problems to diagnose because it starts manifesting at low ages. This paper aims at ASD classification using MRI Images by Artificial Gannet Optimization enabled Deep Convolutional Neural Network (AGO_DCNN). Here, an MRI image is assumed that be subjected to pre-processing of the image and feature extraction phases as an input. The bilateral filter is employed to remove the noises from the input MRI image and in the pre-processing of an image stage Region of Interest (ROI) extraction is conducted. The pivotal region extraction phase receives a filtered image after which AGO is used to extract the pivotal region. AGO is a newly designed approach by merging two optimizations namely Artificial Ecosystem-based Optimization (AEO) and Gannet Optimization Algorithm (GOA). At the same time, features are extracted from the input image during the feature extraction stage. In a feature extraction stage, some features like texture and statistical features are extracted. At last, the classification of ASD is conducted using DCNN, wherein by AGO the classifier is tuned. Furthermore, AGO_DCNN attained better outcomes in terms of maximal True Positive Rate (TPR), True Negative Rate (TNR), and accuracy values of about 93.7%, 90.8%, 96.8% and False Positive Rate (FPR) and minimal False Negative Rate (FNR) and values of 78.7% and 74.7%. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2024.

Duplicate question detection is a crucial task in question-and-answer platforms, aiming to improve user experience and minimize redundancy. This project utilizes NLP techniques and machine learning models to predict whether a pair of questions are duplicates accurately. The project involves comprehensive data pre-processing, including tokenization, stopword removal, and lemmatization, to prepare the textual data for analysis. Here we are using various feature engineering techniques, such as bag-of-words, TF-IDF, and word embedding, are applied to extract meaningful representations of the questions. Multiple machine learning models, including Logistic Regression, Random Forest, SVM, XGBoost, and a Combined model, are trained on labeled data. Evaluation metrics focus on precision and recall minimizing misclassification costs. New sample data is used to validate the models. Predictions are made to classify question pairs as duplicates or non-duplicates, showcasing the model's generalization capabilities. The results highlight the potential of NLP techniques and machine learning models in accurately identifying duplicate question pairs, improving knowledge sharing, and reducing redundancy. This project provides valuable insights and methodologies for future research in duplicate question detection, contributing to the field of NLP and enhancing user experiences on question-and-answer platforms. © 2023 IEEE.

In contemporary medicine,cardiovascular disease is a major public health *** diseases are one of the leading causes of death *** are classiﬁed as vascular,ischemic,or *** information contained in patients’Electronic Health Records(EHR)enables clin-icians to identify and monitor heart *** failure rates have risen drama-tically in recent years as a result of changes in modern *** diseases are becoming more prevalent in today’s medical *** year,a substantial number of people die as a result of cardiac *** primary cause of these deaths is the improper use of pharmaceuticals without the supervision of a physician and the late detection of *** improve the efﬁciency of the classiﬁcation algo-rithms,we construct a data pre-processing stage using feature ***-ments using unidirectional and bidirectional neural network models found that a Deep Learning Modiﬁed Neural Network(DLMNN)model combined with the Pet Dog-Smell Sensing(PD-SS)algorithm predicted the highest classiﬁcation performance on the UCI Machine Learning Heart Disease *** DLMNN-based PDSS achieved an accuracy of 94.21%,an F-score of 92.38%,a recall of 94.62%,and a precision of 93.86%.These results are competitive and promising for a heart disease *** demonstrated that a DLMNN framework based on deep models may be used to solve the categorization problem for an unbalanced heart disease *** proposed approach can result in exceptionally accurate models that can be utilized to analyze and diagnose clinical real-world data.

—Spatial optimization problems (SOPs) refer to a class of problems where the decision variables require spatial organization. Existing methods based on evolutionary algorithms (EAs) fit conventional evolutionary operators by flattening the spatial representations of SOPs to one dimension, which hence loses crucial spatial structures of the potential solutions. To address this issue, this article proposes a tensorial evolutionary algorithm (TEA) by formulating a tensor space of the SOPs, where the population of candidate solutions is represented as a third-order tensor. Accordingly, we design a tensor-product crossover operator and a two-phase mutation consisting of a local convolutional mutation operator and a global Gaussian mutation operator in the tensor space. These operators are all implemented based on tensor operations. Under the consideration of spatial context on individual solutions, we devise three types of evolutionary tensors, namely, the crossover tensor, the convolutional mutant tensor, and the Gaussian mutant tensor for the three tensorial evolutionary operators correspondingly. The resultant TEA is tested using two typical real-world SOPs, namely, the facility layout problem and the image steganography problem. Comparative experimental studies validate the effectiveness and robustness of TEA. © 2024 IEEE.

Load balancing is vital for the efficient and long-term operation of cloud data *** virtualization,post(reactive)migration of virtual machines(VMs)after allocation is the traditional way for load balancing and consoli***,it is not easy for reactive migration to obtain predefined load balance objectives and it may interrupt services and bring ***,we provide a new approach,called Prepartition,for load *** partitions a VM request into a few sub-requests sequentially with start time,end time and capacity demands,and treats each sub-request as a regular VM *** this way,it can proactively set a bound for each VM request on each physical machine and makes the scheduler get ready before VM migration to obtain the predefined load balancing goal,which supports the resource allocation in a fine-grained *** with real-world trace and synthetic data show that our proposed approach with offline version(PrepartitionOff)scheduling has 10%–20%better performance than the existing load balancing baselines under several metrics,including average utilization,imbalance degree,makespan and Capacity_*** also extend Prepartition to online load *** results show that our proposed approach also outperforms state-of-the-art online algorithms.
