Binary Image Steganalysis Based on Symmetrical Local Residual Patterns

Residual computation is an effective method for gray-scale image steganalysis. For binary images, the residual computation calculated by the XOR operation is also employed in the local residual patterns(LRP) model for steganalysis. A binary image steganalytic scheme based on symmetrical local residual patterns(SLRP) is proposed. The symmetrical relationships among residual patterns are introduced that make the features more compact while reducing the dimensionality of the features set. Multi-scale windows are utilized to construct three SLRP submodels which are further merged to construct the final features set instead of a single *** with higher probability to be modified after embedding are emphasized and selected to construct the feature sets for training the support vector machine classifier. The experimental results show that the proposed steganalytic scheme is effective for detecting binary image steganography.

Gene expression analysis plays a crucial role in understanding biological processes and diseases. However, the high-dimensional nature of gene expression data poses challenges for its analysis and interpretation. Clustering algorithms have been widely used for identifying patterns in gene expression data, but their effectiveness is limited by the choice of algorithm and parameters used. In this study, we propose an approach for optimizing gene expression analysis using clustering algorithms. Initially, a range of clustering techniques were assessed, encompassing K-means, hierarchical clustering, and DBSCAN. This assessment was conducted using gene expression information sourced from a publicly accessible database. Subsequently, various techniques for feature selection were employed. These techniques encompassed principal component analysis (PCA) as well as correlation-based feature selection (CFS). Their objective was twofold: to decrease the data's dimensionality and to enhance the effectiveness of the clustering process. From the study, we came to know that the combination of K-means clustering with PCA feature selection outperformed other methods in terms of clustering accuracy and stability. We also identified a set of genes that were consistently associated with different clusters, providing insights into the underlying biological processes. Overall, our study demonstrates the importance of careful algorithm and parameter selection for gene expression analysis and highlights the potential of clustering algorithms for identifying meaningful patterns in gene expression data. The suggested methodology entails merging DBSCAN with K-means clustering, which could be extended to diverse high-dimensional datasets for the enhancement of their analysis and comprehension. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

With the development of maritime continuing to grow, large-scale maritime wireless devices (MWDs) are being deployed for various maritime applications. The rapid development of maritime Internet of Things (IoT) and growing demand for these applications have led to an increasing number of computation-intensive and resource-sensitive tasks. Considering the limited computing capacity and energy of MWDs, it is challenging to transmit and process massive maritime computing tasks in an energy efficient manner. In this paper, we propose a three-tier maritime edge computing system in which low earth orbit (LEO) satellite and offshore base station (OBS) support to provide communication and computing services for MWDs. The system optimizes association variable, task partitioning, transmission power, and computing resource allocation to reduce system energy consumption under latency constraints. The optimization problem is formulated as a mixed integer non-linear programming (MINLP) optimization problem. We decompose the original problem into four subproblems and design algorithms to solve them. Firstly, the association variable optimization subproblem is solved by slack variable method. Then, we adopt quadratic transformation and design a difference of convex algorithm to solve transmission power optimization subproblem. Further, task partitioning subproblem is solved by obtaining upper and lower bounds of offloading task size by strict deduction, and then solved by the standard convex method. Finally, Lagrangian dual method is utilized to deal with joint computing resource optimization subproblem of LEO satellite and OBS. In simulation results, the proposed algorithm saves 39.3% of system energy consumption compared to benchmark schemes. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

During the COVID-19 coronavirus epidemic, people usually wear masks to prevent the spread of the virus, which has become a major obstacle when we use face-based computer vision techniques such as face recognition and face detection. So masked face inpainting technique is desired. Actually, the distribution of face features is strongly correlated with each other, but existing inpainting methods typically ignore the relationship between face feature distributions. To address this issue, in this paper, we first show that the face image inpainting task can be seen as a distribution alignment between face features in damaged and valid regions, and style transfer is a distribution alignment process. Based on this theory, we propose a novel face inpainting model considering the probability distribution between face features, namely Face Style Self-Transfer Network (FaST-Net). Through the proposed style self-transfer mechanism, FaST-Net can align the style distribution of features in the inpainting region with the style distribution of features in the valid region of a face. Ablation studies have validated the effectiveness of FaST-Net, and experimental results on two popular human face datasets (CelebA and VGGFace) exhibit its superior performance compared with existing state-of-the-art methods. © 2023 SPIE.

Improving Data Processing Speed on Large Datasets in a Hadoop Multi-node Cluster using Enhanced Apriori Algorithm

For large data, data mining methods were used on a Hadoop-based distributed infrastructure, using map reduction paradigm approaches for rapid data processing. Though data mining approaches are established methodologies, the Apriori algorithm provides a specific strategy for increasing data processing performance in big data analytics by applying map reduction. Apriori property is used to increase the efficiency of level-wise creation of frequent itemsets by minimizing the search area. A frequent itemset's subsets must also be frequent (Apriori property). If an itemset is rarely, then all of its supersets are infrequent as well. We refined the apriori approach by varying the degree of order in locating frequent item sets in large clusters using map reduction programming. Fixed Pass Combined Counting (FPC) and Dynamic Pass Combined Counting (DPC) is a classical algorithm which are used for data processing from the huge datasets but their accuracy is not up to the mark. In this article, updated Apriori algorithms such as multiplied-fixed-pass combined counting (MFPC) and average time-based dynamic combined counting (ATDFC) are used to successfully achieve data processing speed. The proposed approaches are based on traditional Apriori core notions in data mining and will be used in the map-reduce multi-pass phase by ignoring pruning in some passes. The optimized-MFPC and optimized-ATDFC map-reduce framework model algorithms were also presented. The results of the experiments reveal that MFPC and ATDFC are more efficient in terms of execution time than previously outmoded approaches such as Fixed Pass Combined Counting (FPC) and Dynamic Pass Combined Counting (DPC). In a Hadoop multi-node cluster, this paradigm accelerates data processing on big data sets. The human brain has a simple time analyzing and processing images. The brain is able to rapidly deconstruct and distinguish an image's various components when the eye perceives it. With the Convolutional Neural Network (CNN) as its foundation, this research suggests deep learning conceptual models. When the algorithms are compared, it becomes clear that CNN-based classification of handwritten alphabets performs better than other algorithms in terms of accuracy. The Manual Net, Alex Net, and LeNet Architectures are among the CNN algorithms employed in this research. The convulational layer, max pooling, flattening, feature assortment, rectifier lined unit, and completely linked softmaxx layers are each components of the aforementioned designs. The proposed network is tested using an image dataset comprising 530 training photos and 2756 testing images. The top precision and cost-efficient model will be used in the Django context to build a handler line for supplying the appeal to be recognized and obtaining the productivity outcome of recognized appeal. © 2024 IEEE.

To train robust malicious traffic identification models under noisy labeled datasets, a number of learning with noise labels approaches have been introduced, among which parallel training methods have been proved to be effective. Parallel training methods tend to select samples with disagreement to mitigate the risk of self-control degradation. However, it also introduces noisy knowledge into training. In this letter, we try to avoid introducing noisy knowledge by enhancing the consistency of the representations of parallel networks. Meanwhile, the two networks are heterogeneous and introduce information from different modalities, thus mitigating the risk of self-control degradation from multiple perspectives. © 2019 IEEE.

The fundamental challenge in clinical practice is predicting whether patients with cognitive symptoms or impairment will improve or stay stable. Population ageing is a worldwide phenomena with various impacts. Among dementia, Alzheimer disease (AD) is common in the elderly which is the most common form of dementia and may contribute to 60–70% of cases. An early and precise AD diagnosis enhances patient quality of life. In this study, we propose an optimal group-wise non-rigid image registration technique for dementia (AD) prediction. We introduce an improved cuckoo search optimization (ICSO) algorithm to search optimal group-wise dense correspondence in large image sets in non-rigid image registration which reduce dimensionality of the search space. Then, we illustrate a teacher-student learning based optimization algorithm which cooperates with PLS regression to extract deformation which separates the relationship information suitable for each other from the raw relationship information. After that, we compute the distribution of morphologies of age by fitting smooth percentile curves to these scores using hybrid capsule neural network with least Median Square (hybrid CNN-LMS) curve fitting model. Finally, the simulation results of proposed hybrid CNN-LMS technique are compared to the existing methods to analyze the measures. We observed that the accuracy of our proposed hybrid CNN-LMS technique is 96.23% and 95.82% for RSS and ANDI datasets respectively. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

Improvements in aircraft detection are necessary to improve surveillance. This work investigates the exact detection and classification of airplanes using YOLOv8 in conjunction with Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) photos. SAR imaging performs well in dimly lit and unfavorable environments. The objective is to use YOLOv8's object detection to identify aircraft kinds and categories in SAR pictures. A variety of SAR datasets are gathered, preprocessed, and trained on the model to allow for a thorough assessment of YOLOv8's performance in differentiating between different types of aircraft. Measures that assess model performance across aircraft classes include mean average precision (mAP), recall, and loss. The results demonstrate the effectiveness of YOLOv8 and show promising results in terms of speed and precision. This work drives progress in aerial surveillance by highlighting the robustness of SAR when combined with cutting edge deep learning for aircraft taxonomy. The achieved 98.5% mean average precision (mAP) attests to exceptional performance in aircraft detection and categorization from SAR images, reinforcing the utility of this integrated approach in bolstering security systems. © 2024 IEEE.
