In order to solve the issue of rapid collaborative mission planning for aircraft, a basic process for using neural networks to train intelligent prediction models to solve the reachable range is proposed. First, the idea of dichotomy is used to carry out traversal simulation experiments and the sample databases under various states is generated. Then, the neural network method is used to construct a trajectory reachable area prediction model, train and test the reachable area prediction model. Finally, the simulation analysis is carried out, and the simulation results showed that the method adopted in this paper is reasonable and feasible. The reachable area of the aircraft track is a polygonal area with upper and lower basic symmetry and left and right asymmetry. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

In this work, the experimental analysis of a rectangular Dielectric Electroactive Polymer (DEAP) actuator is proposed. The actuators based on the electroactive membrane have been recently widely developed for various applications, especially in soft robotics. Dielectric Electroactive Polymers are a group of smart materials that allow the exploitation of new interesting features such as softness, flexibility, and silent work. In this work, a three-layer dielectric electroactive membrane preparation method and its characterization are presented. The produced actuator is analyzed by a set of measurements to obtain information about its working in multi-dimensional space. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper discusses the design of a flight control system for an airplane whose aerodynamic elevators are damaged. An optimal control utilizing a Q-learning algorithm is designed to achieve the appropriate behavior of the airplane. For this purpose, the linear dynamic model in the cruise flight of the airplane is augmented with the actuator dynamics, incorporating two tunable parameters: the control gain and the actuator time delay into the airplane dynamics. The control coefficients are computed using the Q-learning algorithm for different modes to evaluate the scenarios with healthy and faulty actuator cases. The numerical results in comparison with LQR controller highlight the potential of Q-learning as a practical approach to designing controllers for passenger airplanes, considering fault conditions. Moreover, the key advantage of the proposed algorithm compared to model-based controllers such as LQR is that this Q-learning control strategy is model-free and robust to path tracking, uncertainty, and disturbances. © The Author(s) 2025.

The growing adoption of electric vehicles and dynamic wireless charging has strengthened the spatiotemporal interconnection between the transportation network (TN) and the microgrid (MG). This paper presents an optimal traffic-power flow (OTPF) model for the transportation-microgrid coupled system (TMCS) to enhance the coordination of its operations. The OTPF model is transformed into bi-level programming, with the optimal power flow model of MGs at the upper level and the dynamic traffic assignment model of the TN at the lower level. The upper level is a mixed-integer second-order cone programming, while the lower level is formulated as a dynamic user equilibrium. A fixed-point algorithm is developed to tackle this bi-level programming. Case studies show that the OTPF model of the TMCS can be efficiently solved to capture the spatiotemporal variations of traffic flow and power flow. © 2024 IEEE.

With the advancement of warehousing technology, the allocation of multiple tasks in multi-AGV systems has become an important factor in order to decrease task completion time in the warehouse. This paper develops a multi-task scheduling algorithm that employs a dual-task chain approach to maximize task execution benefits. For the multi-task allocation problem, this paper proposes a dual-task chain-based task allocation algorithm (DTTA), which uses the dual-task chain strategy as a mechanism for selecting multiple tasks, taking into consideration derived tasks to enhance solution quality. Simulation experiments show that the proposed algorithm and model perform better than other methods. © 2024 IEEE.

Reconfigurable intelligent surfaces (RIS) are a technology foreseen to play an important role in sixth-generation (6G) wireless networks. By manipulating and reflecting electromagnetic waves using adjustable reflecting elements, RIS can actively reshape the wireless environment in real time. This capability proves most effective when the RIS is positioned in line-of-sight and proximity to the transmitter and receiver due to multiplicative path loss. To meet these criteria in real-world applications, the RIS is mounted on an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV). Combining UAV with RIS is particularly advantageous due to the lightweight and energy-efficient nature of the RIS. However, a UAV is exposed to many disturbances during flight, which can compromise the performance benefits of the RIS-enabled link. We show the UAV and RIS orientation can be estimated with an extended Kalman filter (EKF). By conducting experimental measurements and recording the UAV-mounted RIS orientation during flight, we quantify the uncertainties regarding the orientation estimation of the UAV and show their impact on the performance of the RIS link through numerical simulations. © 2024 IEEE.

This paper investigates the secure consensus control problem for nonlinear multi-agent systems (MASs) under de-ception attacks. The main characteristic of the proposed secure consensus control method is its ability to mitigate undesirable system behaviors caused by deception attacks at the communication links among different agents. In particular, the relationship between the compromised signals and the output signals of MASs is analyzed. Furthermore, a novel Nussbaum function and an adaptive fuzzy law are respectively proposed to tackle the unknown control direction and to estimate the unknown terms caused by deception attacks. Simulation results are presented to demonstrate the validity of the proposed adaptive consensus secure control method. © 2024 IEEE.

The growing adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) necessitates an in-depth analysis of the effects of centralized charging on both traffic congestion and power distribution networks (PDNs). This study presents a coupled model of transportation and power systems that incorporates EV travel behavior and charging costs, emphasizing their interaction between the urban transportation network and the PDN via dynamic wireless energy transmission technology. The equilibrium of the coupled system was then determined through an iterative algorithm aimed at minimizing the total social cost. Example results validate the model’s accuracy and effectiveness. Furthermore, the study demonstrates that the proposed approach can significantly alleviate traffic congestion while simultaneously satisfying the charging needs of EVs and maintaining the stability of the power distribution network. © 2024 IEEE.

The trimmed lasso is a new nonconvex regularized approach for sparse signal recovery, which shows better estimation results in the single measurement vector problem. In this paper, we define the penalty term of the trimmed lasso in the multiple measurement vector model by £2,1-norm. We then present an approach to apply the trimmed lasso to on-grid based direction-of-arrival estimation problems by the alternating directions method of multipliers (ADMM) and majorization-minimization algorithm, which change the nonconvex objective to the convex weighted problem. Numerical simulations show that the proposed method improves the performance over £2,1 minimization algorithm. © 2023 IEEE.

Analog-to-information converter (AIC) is an architecture that implements the compressive sensing (CS) theory and it is capable to generate compressed and digitized output directly from an analog input. Unfortunately, the hardware implementation of AIC inevitably faces the impact of non-ideal factors in the devices. The calibration link is crucial and can have a significant impact on the quality of the signal reconstruction at the back end of the AIC. Random Demodulation (RD) is one of the AICs with a simple structure, and its own structure and calibration link are relatively easy to implement. Low-pass filtering plays an important role in the RD analog acquisition process. In the back-end of the AIC, the impulse response of the low-pass filter in the time domain is constructed as part of the measurement matrix, which directly affects the accuracy of the signal reconstruction in the digital part of the AIC. Existing calibrations mostly focus on amplitude calibration, while the phase distortion of the low-pass filter reduces the accuracy of signal recovery in the RD, which is hardly considered in the calibrations of low-pass filters. To tackle this problem, a Cascaded compensation method of filter phase imperfections is designed, in which a specific all-pass filter is cascaded with the original phase distortion filter so that the phase of the cascaded filters is linear. Comparative simulation experiments were obtained for input signals with different sparsity. The results show that the Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) is significantly improved by using the cascaded phase compensation method, which demonstrates that the proposed method is effective. © 2023 IEEE.
