Labanotation is an approach to record human movement with different distributions in space that have different representations of symbols. Motion capture is a technique that records the trajectory of an object in the time domain by tracking the motion of key points, observed using different sensors, and recorded in files. This paper is to manually mark the Labanotation based on 3D human motion capture data, to divide the 3D human motion into gaits and poses, and to record and represent different human movements and positions in space in the notation. This is an exploration of motion capture data to generate Labanotation, while also contributing to the preservation of folk-art forms. © 2023 SPIE.

The Area Under the ROC Curve (AUC) is a well-known metric for evaluating instance-level long-tail learning problems. In the past two decades, many AUC optimization methods have been proposed to improve model performance under long-tail distributions. In this paper, we explore AUC optimization methods in the context of pixel-level long-tail semantic segmentation, a much more complicated scenario. This task introduces two major challenges for AUC optimization techniques. On one hand, AUC optimization in a pixel-level task involves complex coupling across loss terms, with structured inner-image and pairwise inter-image dependencies, complicating theoretical analysis. On the other hand, we find that mini-batch estimation of AUC loss in this case requires a larger batch size, resulting in an unaffordable space complexity. To address these issues, we develop a pixel-level AUC loss function and conduct a dependency-graph-based theoretical analysis of the algorithm's generalization ability. Additionally, we design a Tail-Classes Memory Bank (T-Memory Bank) to manage the significant memory demand. Finally, comprehensive experiments across various benchmarks confirm the effectiveness of our proposed AUCSeg method. The sparse interactions between users and items have aggravated the difficulty of their representations in recommender systems. Existing methods leverage tags to alleviate the sparsity problem but ignore prevalent logical relations among items and tags (e.g., membership, hierarchy, and exclusion), which can be leveraged to enhance the accuracy of modeling user preferences and conducting recommendations. To this end, we propose to extract logical relations among item tags from existing tag taxonomies and exploit the individual strengths of the Poincaré and the Lorentz models in hyperbolic space for logical relation modeling towards enhanced recommendations. Moreover, we find that the logical relations directly extracted from existing tag taxonomies can be inaccurate and coarse. Therefore, we further devise innovative consistency-based and granularity-based weighting mechanisms based on user behavior patterns for data-driven logical relation mining that can be jointly optimized along with recommendations in an end-to-end fashion. Extensive experiments on four real-world benchmark datasets show drastic performance gains brought by our proposed framework, which constantly achieves an average of 8.25% improvement over state-of-the-art competitors regarding both Recall and NDCG metrics. Insightful case studies further demonstrate that our automatically refined logical relations are highly accurate and interpretable. © 2024 IEEE.

The COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated large-scale vaccination campaigns to control the virus's spread. Given the scale of these efforts, it's crucial to scrutinize potential adverse effects, especially in vulnerable population groups. This study combines machine learning and Genetic Algorithms (GA) to analyze the patterns of patient recovery post-vaccination. We use a range of classifiers, including the Gradient Boosting Decision Tree (GBDT), to identify key features and symptom categories that influence patient recovery. We also use Principal Component Analysis (PCA) to reduce dimensionality and uncover patterns within high-dimensional data. The data used in this study have taken from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). With the help of GA, we aim to guide optimal vaccine selection for susceptible demographics, minimizing the risk and severity of side effects. Our research paves the way for more personalized vaccination strategies, promoting healthier outcomes and reducing risks associated with mass vaccination. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd. 2024.

Earthquakes, one of the greatest natural catastrophes, kill people and harm the economy. Heavy earthquakes and tsunamis may kill thousands and cost millions. Globally, predicting major earthquakes is important. Because earthquake prediction is difficult, researchers employ machine learning to improve forecasts. Many countries have early earthquake warning systems to save lives. Temporal rather than geographical characteristics dominated previous research. A similarity between earthquake and non-seismic signals makes real-time earthquake detection with cellphones or IoT devices problematic. This system may change entity interactions using ML and an IoT network. EEWS metrics are tracked using IoT. However, ML can assess these actions and determine smart city risk reduction and catastrophe management strategies. A deep learning approach for continuous earthquake forecasting utilising past seismic events is proposed. This research predicts earthquakes by position and depth using machine learning and deep learning. ConvLSTM, a Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) and Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), extracts important waveform elements to make the classifier reliable in earthquake parameters. © 2024 IEEE.

In this research paper, an enhanced hotel quality scoring method (EHQSM), is presented as a revolutionary way to analyze hotel quality. The EHQSM combines sentiment analysis, HOLSERV Plus dimensions classification, and amenity scores to deliver a more thorough review. The study generates an overall sentiment score by doing sentiment analysis on reviews categorized into HOLSERV Plus dimensions then thoughtfully averaging it using dimensionspecific weights collected from a survey. The availability of necessary amenities is considered when calculating the amenity score. The novel feature of this approach is how the amenity score, and sentiment score are carefully combined and efficiently weighted using values from the survey. The result is an improved quality score that accurately and thoroughly describes the quality of hotel services. With the goal of facilitating informed decisions for both hotel owners and attentive tourists, this technique establishes an updated standard for the evaluation of hospitality quality.

Learning to solve vehicle routing problems (VRPs) has garnered much attention. However, most neural solvers are only structured and trained independently on a specific problem, making them less generic and practical. In this paper, we aim to develop a unified neural solver that can cope with a range of VRP variants simultaneously. Specifically, we propose a multitask vehicle routing solver with mixture-of-experts (MVMoE), which greatly enhances the model capacity without a proportional increase in computation. We further develop a hierarchical gating mechanism for the MVMoE, delivering a good trade-off between empirical performance and computational complexity. Experimentally, our method significantly promotes zero-shot generalization performance on 10 unseen VRP variants, and showcases decent results on the few-shot setting and real-world benchmark instances. We further conduct extensive studies on the effect of MoE configurations in solving VRPs, and observe the superiority of hierarchical gating when facing out-of-distribution data. Efficiently processing massive satellite datasets is a critical challenge in the field of remote sensing. The limitations of computational resources, bottlenecks in I/O operations, and pressures from data storage and transmission have long constrained the efficiency of large-scale synthetic aperture radar(SAR) data processing. Based on the concept of cloud-native computing, this study proposes a modular, multi-node parallel framework for time-series InSAR processing. The framework leverages containerization and a microservices-based architecture, incorporating multi-level parallel methods to optimize existing workflows. It achieves efficient resource allocation, alleviates I/O load, and significantly enhances data processing performance. Experimental results demonstrate that, compared to local computing resources of similar scale, this approach improves the efficiency of key processing steps by 33.1% and 16.6%, respectively. When the data volume is increased several-fold, the program's processing efficiency remains stable. The framework exhibits excellent performance under large-scale tasks and diverse computational resource scenarios, with peak CPU utilization reaching nearly 100% and memory utilization stabilizing above 80%. Moreover, it achieves high-efficiency data read/write operations across varying task scales, showcasing outstanding resource scheduling capabilities, elasticity, and scalability. This framework offers an efficient and practical solution for large-scale InSAR data processing and paves the way for broader applications of cloud-native technologies in remote sensing data analysis. © 2008-2012 IEEE.
