The HVAC system, energy storage building, distributed power supply, and other equipment are integrated into the scheduling algorithm, which is aimed at reducing household electricity consumption. It is also assumed that users can provide energy to the grid according to their own conditions. Taking electricity cost and comfort level as optimization targets, a home energy optimization control model for the coordinated management of hybrid energy sources is built. A smart scheduling mechanism based on the improved adaptive particle swarm optimization approach is proposed in order to derive the best time intervals for electric appliances, necessary power for the control of the room temperature for every time frame, and power for charging and discharging of the storage battery at various moments. Simulation results show that through the incorporation of distributed photovoltaic power generation, backup storage by battery, and home energy optimization control, the system efficiently balances between user comfort and electricity consumption. This offers great technical support to the development of home energy management systems. By using time-of-use electricity price for energy acquisition and supply, the optimization control goal is minimizing both power use and cost as well as preserving comfort levels. The hybrid energy management's proposed home energy optimization control model uses an adaptive particle swarm optimization algorithm to find the optimal operation schedules of the electrical appliances, the required power for temperature control in a room, and the charge/discharge power level of the storage battery at each time interval. As per the optimization principle, the proposed dynamic programming algorithm converts the multi-stage problem into a sequence of single-stage problems and solves them separately. Attention mechanism has been a successful method for multimodal affective analysis in recent years. Despite the advances, several significant challenges remain in fusing language and its nonverbal context information. One is to generate sparse attention coefficients associated with acoustic and visual modalities, which helps locate critical emotional se-mantics. The other is fusing complementary cross‐modal representation to construct optimal salient feature combinations of multiple modalities. A Conditional Transformer Fusion Network is proposed to handle these problems. Firstly, the authors equip the transformer module with CNN layers to enhance the detection of subtle signal patterns in nonverbal sequences. Secondly, sentiment words are utilised as context conditions to guide the computation of cross‐modal attention. As a result, the located nonverbal fea-tures are not only salient but also complementary to sentiment words directly. Experi-mental results show that the authors’ method achieves state‐of‐the‐art performance on several multimodal affective analysis datasets.

India, whose population growth is its greatest asset cannot afford to let its people eat confectionery that is either tainted or somehow polluted, since this would lead to extensive malnutrition. Traditional food supply chains are characterized by centralization and the problems associated with it such as having a single point of failure and producing inconsistent products while compromising the quality, along with data loss. With the need for daily reports in all regions of India regarding food fraud, contamination, and adulteration, a clearly advanced decentralized model is sought after for the creation of a supply chain. This paper introduces the supply chain network for the Indian confectionery market based on blockchain to better address quality claims, contamination, and transparency. This enables real-time traceability within the ecosystem, by using IoT strategies along with the Ethereum blockchain leading to better product authentication and resulting in higher consumer confidence. Blockchain creates a secure data tracking function, while smart contracts can be used to define the process - such as IoT monitoring of temperature. The united method enables verified data to be available to the consumer, energy efficiency, and trust across the supply chain. © 2024 IEEE.

A Bi-selection Method Based on Consistent Matrix for Large-Scale datasets

Biselection (feature and sample selection) enhances the efficiency and accuracy of machine learning models when handling large-scale data. Fuzzy rough sets, an uncertainty mathematics model known for its excellent interpretability, are widely used in machine learning, particularly for feature selection. While the consistent matrix has significantly improved the computational efficiency and scalability of feature selection, like most fuzzy rough set-based methods, it focuses only on feature selection and seldom incorporates sample selection. This feature-centric approach can limit classification performance, particularly in noisy and large-scale datasets where both features and samples require judicious selection. To overcome these limitations, this article explores the integration of sample selection with feature selection. First, we introduce a β-consistent granulation method to generate more accurate and concise fuzzy information granules, reducing the impact of noisy samples. In addition, a novel membership function is employed to distinguish noise while simultaneously evaluating both features and samples. As a result, a biselection algorithm with linear computation complexity is proposed to select high-quality features and samples. Numerical experiments demonstrate that, compared to eleven representative algorithms, our proposed method achieves an average accuracy improvement of 9.66% and a 933-fold increase in efficiency. © 2025 IEEE.

Cognitive robots are intelligent systems that learn from their environment, adapt to dynamic changes, and make decisions without a human's direct intervention. This research studies the integration of Reinforcement Learning in cognitive robots with Q-Learning for autonomous path planning. The study addresses the most critical issues in traditional A∗ and Dynamic Programming algorithms by devising path-planning techniques, mainly the lack of adaptability and computational efficiency in real-time and unpredictable environments. Our approach is based on Q-Learning, which is a model-free RL algorithm allowing the robots to find paths autonomously by optimizing their paths and avoiding obstacles. The Q-Learning algorithm provides the possibility of learning optimal policies for the robot through iterative interaction with its environment balanced between exploration and exploitation of the decision process. A reward system is utilized by the proposed model, encouraging the robot to explore shorter, collision-free paths and adjust based on feedback in real time from its surroundings. The model was found to be significantly better than its counterparts. In this context, as indicated, the Q-Learning model runs at 11.5 seconds, faster than A∗ at 18.3 seconds and Dynamic Programming at 16.7 seconds, yet with an accuracy of 94% and was found to have the highest collision avoidance rate at 98%. Additionally, the adaptability of the model about the environment presents a marked difference in terms of path length optimization, having done so with a mean path length of 12.3, compared to approaches or models. The robustness and scalability of the Q-Learning model make it highly applicable in real-world applications. © 2024 IEEE.

Revolutionizing lemon grading: an automated CNN-based approach for enhanced quality assessment

Lemons, renowned for their versatile applications in the culinary world and various industries, have become a staple commodity worldwide. The demand for high-quality lemons continues to soar, underscoring the need for reliable and efficient grading methods. Traditional lemon grading, which is largely reliant on human expertise, often falls prey to subjectivity, human errors, and time-consuming processes. In this paper, we propose a CNN-based lemon grading model to automate and improve the accuracy of lemon quality assessment. The proposed model utilizes CNNs in a modular and sequential fashion for extracting pertinent features from lemon images and categorizing them into distinct quality grades. A comprehensive dataset of lemon images with corresponding quality labels is used to train and validate the model. The experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of the CNN-based approach in accurately grading lemons, offering a promising solution for enhancing efficiency and objectivity in the lemon grading process. © Bharati Vidyapeeth's institute of Computer Applications and Management 2024.

Few-Shot Source Separation for IoT Anti-Jamming via Multitask Learning and Meta-Learning

Malicious jamming attacks pose a significant threat to the integrity and performance of Internet of Things (IoT) networks. However, many jamming patterns are rare or infrequent, which makes them difficult to counter effectively. This article addresses the critical issue of anti-jamming (AJ) under few-shot sample conditions in IoT networks. Source separation is a key component of AJ communication. Although deep learning-based source separation has demonstrated significant advantages, it typically requires a large amount of labeled data, which can be impractical in certain environments. To overcome this challenge, we propose two novel schemes that leverage multitask learning (MTL) and meta-learning (ML) to enhance the model’s signal separation capabilities within the constraints of limited sample scenarios. MTL enhances robustness by leveraging shared representations across tasks, while ML allows for rapid adaptation to novel jamming signals with minimal samples. Specifically, we employ a modified separation model, SepFormer, as our baseline and integrate MTL and ML schemes to enable the separation of unknown or few-shot jamming signals. Additionally, we have constructed two datasets encompassing both simulated and real-world environmental data to test and evaluate the performance of the proposed methods. Simulation results demonstrate the superior AJ performance of our schemes, particularly when compared with a direct application of the separation model with few-shot samples. Furthermore, our evaluation of performance across various jamming scenarios and interference-to-signal ratios (ISRs) further confirms the effectiveness of our proposed scheme. © 2014 IEEE.

Remaining Useful Life Prediction of Degraded Systems Based on Multiple Performance Indicators Constructed by Multiple Features

The health status assessment of industrial equipment is critical to fault prediction and health management technologies. To fully reflect system degradation and accurately predict the remaining useful life (RUL) of a system, the construction of multiple performance indicators is important. Thus, a new state-space model and RUL prediction method is proposed herein based on multiple indicators, considering the three correlation relationships among features and degradation indicators. First, according to the extracted and selected feature signals, various relationships such as the correlations among multiple features, multiple features and indicators, and multiple indicators are analyzed. Then an intuitive multi-indicator state-space model is established considering the three correlations and the identified degradation patterns. On this basis, three failure modes of the system are defined according to the multi-indicator complex correlation conditions, and the corresponding probability density function of the system RUL is calculated. Finally, the PHM2012 Challenge and XJTU-SY datasets are used as examples for experimental verification. Compared with other prediction methods, the proposed method can intuitively reflect the correlation between features and indicators, to solve the problem caused by the hidden random correlation. © 2001-2012 IEEE.

Many methods have been used to forecast stock market trends in the big data age, including real numbers, fuzzy time series data, fuzzy sets design, and conventional time series data. The control of semantic value data is made possible by the use of fuzzy time series data in stock market prediction, which makes accurate value predictions possible. These techniques are mostly used to forecast dynamic, non-linear datasets in a variety of industries, such as stock markets and cryptocurrencies. In order to predict stock prices, artificial intelligence (AI) methods such as neural networks (NN) have become increasingly important. Many methods have been developed to validate parametric and non-parametric theories for predicting trends and gains in the stock market using the feed-forward (FF) NN technique. A variety of soft computing techniques have been investigated in order to provide ways for decision-making based on profit and loss criteria without relying on artificial intelligence. This paper's main goal is to perform a comprehensive examination of the different prediction techniques used to estimate price and return in the stock market. The study includes a comparative review of several approaches as well as a variety of stock market forecasting strategies. © 2024 IEEE.
