Image co-segmentation and co-localization exploit inter-image information to identify and extract foreground objects with a batch mode. However, they remain challenging when confronted with large object variations or complex backgrounds. This paper proposes a multi-view graph embedding (MV-Gem) learning scheme which integrates diversity, robustness and discernibility of object features to alleviate this phenomenon. To encourage the diversity, the deep co-information containing both low-layer general representations and high-layer semantic information is generated to form a multi-view feature pool for comprehensive co-object description. To enhance the robustness, a multi-view adaptive weighted learning is formulated to fuse the deep co-information for feature complementation. To ensure the discernibility, the graph embedding and sparse constraint are embedded into the fusion formulation for feature selection. The former aims to inherit important structures from multiple views, and the latter further selects important features to restrain irrelevant backgrounds. With these techniques, MV-Gem gradually recovers all co-objects through optimization iterations. Extensive experimental results on real-world datasets demonstrate that MV-Gem is capable of locating and delineating co-objects in an image group. © 1991-2012 IEEE.

Automated writing evaluation system that employs automated essay scoring technologies generates a rating to the writings which helps students with self-assessment. It provides an efficient and easy way for grading essays, which usually takes abundance of time to be evaluated by human graders;this can be greatly useful for educational institutions like schools and colleges. It provides ratings for essays based on the grammatical errors and topic relevancy by using specific tools implemented in the auto grading system. The generated result will help students grading essays which helps students in self-assessment, this will be useful for the student to understand the mistakes that he makes which will be pinpointed by the system in matter of time, not only that the system also displays the strengths of the user, but also the system will improve the accuracy compared to already existing automated grading system. The system uses scores from multiple features (handcraft features, coherence score, prompt-relevant score, and semantic score). In this work, we leverage state-of-the-art machine learning algorithms to predict Channel State information (CSI), for enhancing performance of wireless communication systems. The simulation and analysis stop with transfer learning to finetune, adaptive domain adaptations, multitasking (MTL) as well a few shot meta-learning models framework under different network packet loss rate scenarios. By generalizing better from one domain to another, transfer learning pushes the performance beyond what traditional methods can obtain. Further, fine-tuning also helps to align the source and target domain distributions in feature space by a partial (or full) reduction of re-stylization error. This work proposes multi-Task learning as a tool to mitigate loses in light of predicting across fading scenarios. Considering multi-task learning also provides benefits from shared learnings, so experience is pooled between the tasks which indirectly improve prediction as well and it helps in training both of these algorithms together. Moreover, the few-shot learning models prove to be highly desirable as they deliver state-of-the-art performance with minimal training data for difficult problems. These results show the potential of AI-based methods to improve CSI prediction, and have implications for improving reliability and throughput when deploying real wireless communication systems. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, we have analyzed the secrecy performance and system operation performance for hybrid RF/FSO systems against composite Weibull-log-normal fading channel with M turbulent channels. The performance is evaluated by carrying out extensive simulations to calculate Signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR), Bit Error Rate (BER) and outage probability, we also re-evaluate channel capacity and secrecy capacity with respect of environmental conditions. Compared with RF only system, FSO only standalone scheme and some meaningful orthogonal-modulation multicarrier IM/DD-based schemes proposed by the literatures. Similarly, the utilization of adaptive modulation schemes improved resistance to fading and roughness in systems. The above results confirm the hybridization of both RF and FSO a comprehensive solution for dependable communication in different and even hostile surrounding conditions which set this work as reliable foundation point towards forthcoming research activity or application relevance within all range telecommunication sector. © 2024 IEEE.

In this paper, based on compressed sensing and neural networks, we present an intelligent sparse channel estimation technique for Massive MIMO systems. We show that our approach improves considerably the estimation accuracy in terms of Mean Squared Error (MSE) and Normalized Mean Squared Error (NMSE) with respect to classical methods. We demonstrate [Figure: ] that our approach is computationally more efficient, requires less time and resources (memory/disk) compared to the existing literature but for a robustness of performance across distal or low Signal-to-Noise Ratios (SNRs). We also confirm our method exhibits fast convergence and efficiently accommodates a variety of sparsity levels. By visualizing it using heatmaps and ROC curves we show that this method is able to effectively differentiate between signal and noise, asserting our approach as a powerful tool for the contemporary set of problems present in wireless communications. © 2024 IEEE.

Transformer tracking always takes paired template and search images as encoder input and conduct feature extraction and target‐search feature correlation by self and/or cross attention operations,thus the model complexity will grow quadratically with the number of input *** alleviate the burden of this tracking paradigm and facilitate practical deployment of Transformer‐based trackers,we propose a dual pooling transformer tracking framework,dubbed as DPT,which consists of three components:a simple yet efficient spatiotemporal attention model(SAM),a mutual correlation pooling Trans-former(MCPT)and a multiscale aggregation pooling Transformer(MAPT).SAM is designed to gracefully aggregates temporal dynamics and spatial appearance information of multi‐frame templates along space‐time *** aims to capture multi‐scale pooled and correlated contextual features,which is followed by MAPT that aggregates multi‐scale features into a unified feature representation for tracking *** tracker achieves AUC score of 69.5 on LaSOT and precision score of 82.8 on Track-ingNet while maintaining a shorter sequence length of attention tokens,fewer parameters and FLOPs compared to existing state‐of‐the‐art(SOTA)Transformer tracking *** experiments demonstrate that DPT tracker yields a strong real‐time tracking baseline with a good trade‐off between tracking performance and inference efficiency.

Accurate brain tumor prediction is essential when approaching the field of health care;wherever accuracy in decision-making is crucial, the issues also need to be resolved right away. Many artificial intelligence and machine learning-based techniques have been developed in the last couple of years in the field of healthcare. The intention of this work is to create an algorithm that combines the features of Crow Search (CS) and Interval Type-II Fuzzy Logic System (IT2FLS) algorithms to distinguish the area of tumor from complex brain tissues. The ability of oncologists to make decisions is critical for any therapy sequence to be successful, and the methodology proposed in the research work considerably influences a conclusion through technology interruption. The suggested approach is flexible enough to work with a diversity of image sequences found in the BRATS Challenge 2020 dataset that presents varying degrees of obstacles, challenges, and difficulties in locating the anomalous regions, and it produces improved demarcation results that have been instinctively evaluated and supported by Dice score (98 ± 1.3), specificity (98 ± 1.4), and sensitivity (98 ± 1.7) as average metrics. The motive of this study is the enhancement of the visual perception of oncologists, which gives them improved insight into and comprehension of the condition of the patient. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

Virtual Machine Consolidation (VMC) is an effective means to improve the resource utilization and reduce energy consumption of data centers. However, the VMC optimization that only considers energy consumption may lead to SLA (Service-Level Agreements) violations and thus fail to guarantee the QoS (Quality of Service) provided. Therefore, it is necessary to consider both energy saving and SLA violations in the process of VMC. In this paper, we propose an energy and SLA-aware VMC algorithm that considers both energy saving and SLA violation optimization in data centers. The proposed algorithm uses the local regression method to predict the utilization of virtual machines, based on which it determines whether the host will be overloaded, so as to make the decision of virtual machine migrations. The proposed VMC algorithm is evaluated with CloudSim toolkit. Simulation results demonstrate that our algorithm has good energy saving performance and can effectively reduce SLA violation in cloud data center. Considering energy consumption and SLA violation, the ESV can be reduced by 7.57% on average and 16.36% at most compared with other algorithms. © 2023 IEEE.

With broad applicability in surveillance, delivery, and environmental monitoring, multi-drone path planning has received a great deal of attention recently. So far, wide applicability has been explored by various applications of Genetic Algorithms, Particle Swarm Optimization, and Ant Colony Optimization, which have already established reliable solutions to navigation and coverage through drone path optimization. However, in dynamic, obstacle-dense environments, these algorithms fail to adapt in real-time with energy efficiency. Traditional GA and PSO approaches can be effective for generating an initial path but fail to respond to collision avoidance and efficient resource management. In complex and unpredictable conditions, ACO fails to converge rapidly, which leads to suboptimal paths and increased energy consumption. To overcome such barriers, we present here an HGARL for enhanced multi-drone path optimization. The proposed algorithm thus combines the population-based search capability of GA with RL's adaptive learning ability, therefore providing an algorithm that in addition to finding optimal paths adjusts the paths according to changing environmental situations. HGARL presents better performance compared to existing methods. In path convergence, it reaches up to 15%, and in energy consumption, it reduces up to 20% with safe collision-free navigation. The strong potential of HGARL for robust, efficient, and adaptive solutions of real-time multi-drone operation in complex and dynamic environments has set a new benchmark for UAV path planning. © 2024 IEEE.

Intrusion prevention has become a critical concern in today's increasingly complex and interconnected digital systems. Traditional intrusion prevention methods often rely on rule-based approaches that can be inflexible and prone to false positives and false negatives. The emergence of explainable artificial intelligence (AI) techniques has the potential to provide more accurate and interpretable solutions for intrusion prevention. This review paper surveys the current state of the art in explainable AI techniques for intrusion prevention, including their strengths and limitations. We begin by providing an overview of intrusion prevention and the challenges faced by traditional methods. We then explore the different types of explainable AI techniques, such as Local Interpretable Model-Agnostic Explanations (LIME), Shapley Additive Explanations (SHAP), and Integrated Gradients, and their application to intrusion prevention. We also discuss the different types of datasets and evaluation metrics used in explainable AI-based intrusion prevention, including public datasets such as NSL-KDD and UNSW-NB15. Finally, we highlight the future research directions in explainable AI-based intrusion prevention, including the need for larger and more diverse datasets, better evaluation metrics, and more comprehensive explainable AI models. Overall, this review paper provides a comprehensive overview of the state of the art in explainable AI for intrusion prevention, and serves as a valuable resource for researchers and practitioners in the field. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Singapore Pte Ltd 2023.
