GIMC architecture for linear systems with a single I/O delay

A new feedback controller architecture is presented for linear systems with a single I/O delay in the generalized internal model control (GIMC) framework. According to the doubly coprime factorization of these systems, traditional GIMC strategy is extended to linear systems with a single I/O delay. The distinguished feature of the control system architecture is that high tracking performance and good external disturbance rejection could be done separately by a nominal Smith predictor part and a finite dimensional conditional controller. First, a nominal Smith predictor part could be designed to deal with command tracking performance. Second, according to the left coprime factorization of the nominal controller, a finite dimensional conditional controller could be considered for external disturbance rejection, when the controlled plant should be assumed to be a square one. Wireless sensor and actuator networks (WSANs) can be seen as the backbone of control applications. Sensor nodes are involved in gathering information about the physical phenomenon, while actuator nodes take decisions and then perform appropriate actions upon the environment. To execute the actions at all part of the region in an effective manner, multiple coordination mechanisms among nodes are required. This paper describes the collaborative sensing and action algorithm for environment control in WSANs. First, an actuator relocation algorithm based on regional controllability is adopted after an initial random placement of actuator nodes. Then, a strategy is proposed to assign tasks to actuator nodes and control their action in a coordinated way to accomplish the tasks based on the characteristics of the events. Finally, we formulate the collaborative processing problem as an optimization problem and utilize genetic algorithm to calculate the control law for actuator nodes. Simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed methods.

In this paper, we discuss the issues and challenges involved in collaborative sensing and actuation algorithms for environment control in wireless sensor and actuator networks. The collaborative processing of sensor and actuator nodes brings significant advantages over WSNs, including improved accuracy and timely actions upon the sensed phenomena. Our approach focus on tailor sensor nodes readings and adjust actuator nodes actions that will incur the minimum energy cost to the system subject to the constraints that users' preferences regarding the state of the system are approximately satisfied. First, we formulate the mathematical models of WSANs system. Then, a mechanism is proposed to optimally assign tasks to actuator nodes and control their actions in a coordinated way to accomplish the tasks based on the characteristics of the events. Finally, we develop a distributed control scheme which enables actuator nodes to make control decisions locally. Simulations demonstrate the effectiveness of our proposed methods.

In network service systems, satisfying quality of service (QoS) is one of the main objectives. Admission control and resource allocation strategy can be used to guarantee the QoS requirement. Based on partially observable Markov decision processes (POMDPs), this paper proposes a novel admission control model for video on demand (VOD) service systems with elastic QoS. Elastic QoS is also considered in resource allocation strategy. Policy gradient algorithm is often available to find the solution of POMDP problems, with a satisfactory convergence rate. Through numerical examples, it can be shown that the proposed admission control strategy has better performance than complete admission control strategy.

This paper considers the robust static output feedback control of a miniature helicopter with parameter uncertainties and wind gust disturbances. A sufficient H-2/LMI condition is derived for suboptimal controllers of uncertain system. Then by iterative LMI algorithm, the robust static output feedback controller is designed for the helicopter system with uncertainties. In the end, simulation results are given to validate the control method.

This paper presents a new quadratic stability preserving state-space realization and quadratically stabilizing observer-based controller design for Linear Parameter Varying (LPV) plant, which is combined with a set of local vertex LTI plants. A two-step procedure is taken to design a quadratically stabilizing observer-based controller for LPV plant. First, according to the stabilizabilities of local LTI plants, state feedback gain matrices and Lyapunov matrices could be solved for these local plants with linear matrix inequality technique, independently. With these Lyapunov matrices, a proper state space realization of LPV plant is provided. Second, based on the state space realization, a quadratically stabilizing observer-based controller is obtained.

The rapid growth of new information services, especially like new media services, providing content distribution to clients with good quality of service(QoS) while retaining efficient is a great challenge. This paper investigates the QoS-aware replica placement problem (QRPP) for distributed caching system. We propose a dynamic programming algorithm for the problem in general graph, it first ensures the QoS requirement is satisfied of each request, then places the replica along the request forward path to minimize the total cost. The simulation results show the dynamic programming algorithm can achive a good balance between the access latency and the requested availability. When the request is more concentrated, the dynamic programming algorithm can have better performance than the MODULO and LRU both in access latency and requested availability.

This paper is concerned with a containment problem of networked fractional-order system with multiple leaders under a fixed directed interaction graph. Based on the neighbor rule, a distributed protocol is proposed in delayed communication channels. By employing the algebraic graph theory, matrix theory, Nyquist stability theorem, and frequency domain method, it is analytically proved that the whole follower agents will flock to the convex hull which is formed by the leaders. Furthermore, a tight upper bound on the communication time-delay that can be tolerated in the dynamic network is obtained. As a special case, the interconnection topology under the undirected case is also discussed. Finally, some numerical examples with simulations are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness and correctness of the theoretical results.

In this paper,we consider load balancing and maintenance of distributed similarity search system using locality sensitive hashing（LSH） in DHT-based structured P2P *** has been proven efficient in K-Nearest Neighbor（KNN） search in high ***,a number of schemes have been proposed to implement LSH over DHTbased peer-to-peer system to process distributed similarity *** provide an efficient structure using virtual nodes to manage the multi-dimensional LSH bucket space in DHT peers and maintenance algorithm,which improves load balancing in comparison with the state-of-the-art *** effectiveness of the proposed method is proved by experiments.
