Nowadays, the key strategic issues about resource and environment, such as global warming, water resources shortage, food security etc. are more complex and multidisciplinary than ever before. In scientific research, the developmental tendency of modelling and integrating technique is all but irreversible. Focusing on the topic of model integration, we develop a Workflow-based Spatial Modeling Environment (WF-SME) which enables scientists and modeling users easy to design and create of complex systems models through a drag-drop operation or editing mathematical formula in model constructor. WF-SME, a visual integrated modeling environment is mainly used for the rapid realization of model dynamic integration, in which we can implement the composition and connection of the existing models, and generate new model through graphical operation. The papers firstly introduce the framework of model integration designed for WF-SME as well as its supporting theory, and then explain in detail how the modules of WF-SME have been realized. WF-SME is a platform for spatial modelling, which was designed in four parts, Spatial Workflow Designer, Model builder, Spatial Calculation engine and Visualization of Modelling Output. The spatial workflow designer built-in WFSME shipping with toolsets was adopted to create spatial workflow, reuse and aggregate models. Consisting of equation editor and data banding tool, the model builder enable modeller updates formulas on-demand. This editor parsed by MathML is powerful and flexible enough for the requirements of expressions of mathematical calculations. The spatial calculating engine developed based on component, through the map algebra language, executes mathematical calculations. The multi-form visualization module was developed to provide visual expression for a series of intermediate data and its result of the domain models. Finally, we illustrate how the typical practical application sample has been modeled in our modeling environment

Reverse Skyline Queries have been proved very useful in business location, environmental monitoring and some other applications. In this paper, we consider reverse skyline queries processing on data stream, which provides continuous, high-speed data elements. Specifically, we consider the latest objects in the sliding window. The challenge is that it is difficult to maintain a multidimensional index (for example, R-tree) in a dynamic dataset. Focusing on this challenge, we propose an algorithm with a DC-Tree as index and effective pruning methods to reduce the search space of query processing and the cost of index maintaining. Extensive experiments show that our algorithms are efficient and effective for on-line reverse skyline query.

Ontology matching determines the correspondences between concepts and relations of related ontologies. In this paper, we put forward an ontology hierarchies matching approach based on lattices alignment. The proposed lattice-based matching algorithm can be utilized not only in matching processes between two ontologies, but also in annotation processes between an ontology and its corresponding resources. Experiments on spatiotemporal ontology annotation have been carried out which shown the applicability of the approach.

The crystallographic structures and magnetic properties of a Zn0.95Co0.05O thin film deposited on a C-sapphire substrate using a dual-beam pulsed laser deposition method were characterized. It was shown from crystallographic analysis that the film belongs to the wurtzite structure with the C-axis aligned with that of the substrate. Magnetic hysteresis loops were observed till up to room temperature. A small peak around 55 K was noticed on the magnetization vs. temperature curve. The corresponding temperature of the small peak is close to that of ‘the abnormal peak’ reported by X.M. Zhang et al. From the results obtained, no correlation was found between the abnormal peak and the quantum effects. The magnetic behaviors in the Zn0.95Co0.05O film cannot be explained by the ferromagnetism in diluted magnetic semiconductors. The magnetic mechanisms in ZnO-based diluted magnetic semiconductors are also discussed.
