Diagram object detection is the key basis of practical applications such as textbook question answering. Because the diagram mainly consists of simple lines and color blocks, its visual features are sparser than those of natural images. In addition, diagrams usually express diverse knowledge, in which there are many low-frequency object categories in diagrams. These lead to the fact that traditional data-driven detection model is not suitable for diagrams. In this work, we propose a gestalt-perception transformer model for diagram object detection, which is based on an encoder-decoder architecture. Gestalt perception contains a series of laws to explain human perception, that the human visual system tends to perceive patches in an image that are similar, close or connected without abrupt directional changes as a perceptual whole object. Inspired by these thoughts, we build a gestalt-perception graph in transformer encoder, which is composed of diagram patches as nodes and the relationships between patches as edges. This graph aims to group these patches into objects via laws of similarity, proximity, and smoothness implied in these edges, so that the meaningful objects can be effectively detected. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed GPTR achieves the best results in the diagram object detection task. Pairwise Instance Relation Augmentation for Long-tailed Multi-label Text Classification

Multi-label text classification (MLTC) is one of the key tasks in natural language processing. It aims to assign multiple target labels to one document. Due to the uneven popularity of labels, the number of documents per label follows a long-tailed distribution in most cases. It is much more challenging to learn classifiers for data-scarce tail labels than for data-rich head labels. The main reason is that head labels usually have sufficient information, e.g., a large intra-class diversity, while tail labels do not. In response, we propose a Pairwise Instance Relation Augmentation Network (PIRAN) to augment tailed-label documents for balancing tail labels and head labels. PIRAN consists of a relation collector and an instance generator. The former aims to extract the document pairwise relations from head labels. Taking these relations as perturbations, the latter tries to generate new document instances in high-level feature space around the limited given tailed-label instances. Meanwhile, two regularizers (diversity and consistency) are designed to constrain the generation process. The consistency-regularizer encourages the variance of tail labels to be close to head labels and further balances the whole datasets. And diversity-regularizer makes sure the generated instances have diversity and avoids generating redundant instances. Extensive experimental results on three benchmark datasets demonstrate that PIRAN consistently outperforms the SOTA methods, and dramatically improves the performance of tail labels. Recent applications of convolutional neural networks(CNNs)in single image super-resolution(SISR)have achieved unprecedented ***,existing CNN-based SISR network structure design consider mostly only channel or spatial information,and cannot make full use of both channel and spatial information to improve SISR performance *** present work addresses this problem by proposing a mixed attention densely residual network architecture that can make full and simultaneous use of both channel and spatial ***,we propose a residual in dense network structure composed of dense connections between multiple dense residual groups to form a very deep *** structure allows each dense residual group to apply a local residual skip connection and enables the cascading of multiple residual blocks to reuse previous features.A mixed attention module is inserted into each dense residual group,to enable the algorithm to fuse channel attention with laplacian spatial attention effectively,and thereby more adaptively focus on valuable feature *** qualitative and quantitative results of extensive experiments have demonstrate that the proposed method has a comparable performance with other stateof-the-art methods.

Osteoporosis(OP),a systemic and chronic bone disease,is distinguished by low bone mass and destruction of bone *** Compound-K(CK),one of the metabolites of ginsenoside Rb1,has anti-aging,anti-inflammatory,anti-cancer,and hypolipidemic *** have demonstrated CK could promote osteogenesis and fracture healing in our previous ***,the contribution of CK to osteoporosis has not been *** the present study,we investigated the effect of CK on osteoclastogenesis and ovariectomy(OVX)-induced *** results showed that CK inhibited receptor activator for nuclear factor-κB ligand(RANKL)-mediated osteoclast differentiation and reactive oxygen species(ROS)activity by inhibiting the phosphorylation of NF-κB p65 and oxidative stress in RAW264.7 *** addition,we also demonstrated that CK could inhibit bone resorption using bone marrow-derived ***,we demonstrated that CK attenuated bone loss by suppressing the activity of osteoclast and alleviating oxidative stress in *** together,these results showed CK could inhibit osteoclastogenesis and prevent OVX-induced bone loss by inhibiting NF-κB signaling pathway.

Robin: A Novel Method to Produce Robust Interpreters for Deep Learning-Based Code Classifiers

Deep learning has been widely used in source code classification tasks, such as code classification according to their functionalities, code authorship attribution, and vulnerability detection. Unfortunately, the black-box nature of deep learning makes it hard to interpret and understand why a classifier (i.e., classification model) makes a particular prediction on a given example. This lack of interpretability (or explainability) might have hindered their adoption by practitioners because it is not clear when they should or should not trust a classifier's prediction. The lack of interpretability has motivated a number of studies in recent years. However, existing methods are neither robust nor able to cope with out-of-distribution examples. In this paper, we propose a novel method to produce Robust interpreters for a given deep learning-based code classifier;the method is dubbed Robin. The key idea behind Robin is a novel hybrid structure combining an interpreter and two approximators, while leveraging the ideas of adversarial training and data augmentation. Experimental results show that on average the interpreter produced by Robin achieves a 6.11% higher fidelity (evaluated on the classifier), 67.22% higher fidelity (evaluated on the approximator), and 15.87x higher robustness than that of the three existing interpreters we evaluated. Moreover, the interpreter is 47.31% less affected by out-of-distribution examples than that of LEMNA. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Embedding-based retrieval methods construct vector indices to search for document representations that are most similar to the query representations. They are widely used in document retrieval due to low latency and decent recall performance. Recent research indicates that deep retrieval solutions offer better model quality, but are hindered by unacceptable serving latency and the inability to support document updates. In this paper, we aim to enhance the vector index with end-to-end deep generative models, leveraging the differentiable advantages of deep retrieval models while maintaining desirable serving efficiency. We propose Model-enhanced Vector Index (MEVI), a differentiable model-enhanced index empowered by a twin-tower representation model. MEVI leverages a Residual Quantization (RQ) codebook to bridge the sequence-to-sequence deep retrieval and embedding-based models. To substantially reduce the inference time, instead of decoding the unique document ids in long sequential steps, we first generate some semantic virtual cluster ids of candidate documents in a small number of steps, and then leverage the well-adapted embedding vectors to further perform a fine-grained search for the relevant documents in the candidate virtual clusters. We empirically show that our model achieves better performance on the commonly used academic benchmarks MSMARCO Passage and Natural Questions, with comparable serving latency to dense retrieval solutions.

The speech dialogue system has gradually been widely used in daily life. Users can consult and communicate with the system through natural language. However, in practical applications, third-person background sounds and background noise interference in real dialogue scenes will be encountered. The uncertainty and complexity of these background sounds will have a bad impact on the recognition of the system. A good speech enhancement module can help us to separate the target speaker from the original speech. Recently, a solution called SpEx+ was proposed from the time domain, but SpEx+ needs a reference speech to assist in training. This reference speech may have noise in actual applications that will affect performance. Therefore, we propose a Denoi-SpEx+ model. Before the reference speech is input to the network, a speech denoising network is added, so that the quality of speech separation in practical applications can be guaranteed. Experiments show that our model can significantly improve the performance of speech separation model of noisy reference speech. © 2021 IEEE.

Driven by the latest advances in industrial artificial intelligence, automatic guided vehicles (AGVs) have been widely used for material handling in flexible workshops. In the pursuit of agile and flexible production transportation planning, the ability to handle unpredictable and dynamic events is becoming increasingly important. In order to achieve this real-time dynamic control, this study proposes a distributed multi-agent architecture to solve the dynamic Multi-AGVs scheduling problem. Double Deep Q-Network algorithm is used to train the scheduling agent, capture the relationship between production transportation operation information and scheduling goals, and make real-time scheduling decisions for flexible jobs with constant arrival intervals. Specialized state, action, and reward representations are proposed to handle variable specifications of dynamic scheduling problems. The performance of this method under different scene scales was verified through simulation studies. Numerical results show that compared with existing traditional heuristic scheduling strategies, this method not only has superior performance, but also its advantages persist even if the manufacturing system job scale changes.
