Accurate visual object tracking through long sequences is a challenging task since object's appearance changes and complex motion happens. We present mixture motion model and incorporate observation model within the Monte Carlo framework to achieve robust visual tracking. The mixture motion model which employs important history motion information of the target is built according to a motion measurement matrix to model the target's transition state. Meanwhile, the incorporate observation model is established by introducing SVM classification scores into normal tracking observation model. A particles filter's implementation with these mixture models is demonstrated, which leads to robust tracking results, especially in occlusion and complex scene.

A remote debugging system for OpenMP parallel program is presented in this paper. The system consists of two parts, namely, an integrated debugging environment running on the clent-side and a background daemon running on the server-side. Information exchange between the two sides is accomplished through the socket-based network communication technology. The remote debugging function is realized by the automatic instrumentation technology at code level based on syntax tree. Instance tests show that the system can provide remote users with correctness checking, performance analysis and other debugging functions for OpenMP parallel programs. The user interface is simple and very easy to use.

Spatial-Temporal Interactive Dynamic Graph Convolution Network for Traffic Forecasting

Accurate traffic forecasting is essential for urban traffic control, route planning, and flow detection. Although many spatial-temporal methods are currently proposed, they are still deficient in synchronously capturing the spatial-temporal dependence of traffic data. In addition, most methods ignore the hidden dynamic associations that arise between the road network nodes as it evolves over time. We propose a neural network-based Spatial-Temporal Interactive Dynamic Graph Convolutional Network (STIDGCN) to address the above challenges for traffic forecasting. Specifically, we propose an interactive dynamic graph convolution structure which divides the traffic data by intervals and synchronously captures the divided traffic data‘s spatial-temporal dependence through an interactive learning strategy. The interactive learning strategy motivates STIDGCN effective for long-range forecasting. We also propose a dynamic graph convolution module through a novel dynamic graph generation method to capture the dynamically changing spatial correlations in the traffic network. Based on a priori knowledge and input data, the dynamic graph generation method can generate a dynamic graph structure, which allows exploring the unseen node connections in the road network and simulating the dynamic associations between nodes over time. Extensive experiments on four real-world traffic flow datasets demonstrate that STIDGCN outperforms the state-of-the-art baselines. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Location based services are the hottest applications on mobile device nowadays. Indoor wireless position is the key technology to enable location based service to work well indoors, where Global Position system normally couldn't work. The main tendency of indoor wireless position is based on Bluetooth and RSSI (radio signal strength indicator). RSSI is the key parameter for wireless position. But values of RSSI are affected by environment factors easily. Because of this reason, results got from the indoor location technology are usually imprecise and unacceptable. In this paper, an adaptive algorithm based on Distance-Loss model in complex environment is introduced to deal with such problems. The algorithm makes the model adapt to the environment by several parameters which are not influenced by environment. The stability and the accuracy of the algorithm is evidenced by a series of strict experiences. © 2016 IEEE.

Web services composition (WSC) is the key techniques in its application. Dynamically selecting reliable Web services (WSs) becomes crucial to users. In fact, most works regard a Web service (WS) as the basic unit and selection with end-to-end, and as more and more WSs become available, the WSs selection problem is a complex NP-hard optimization problem. So, in this paper, the WSs consist of the operations and the WSs selection problem is formalized as a finite state machine process and we proposed a backward algorithm to create the WSC tree (WSCT). Then, we proposed a heuristic algorithm to complete the selection of WSs based on the WSCT. The results of experiment show our proposed heuristic algorithm is effective.

Electroencephalogram evidence for mirror neuron activity during the observation of drawn hand motion

The present study used electroencephalography to examine mu rhythm suppression （a putative index of human mirror neuron system activation） at frontal sites （F3, Fz and F4）, central sites （C3, Cz and C4）, parietal sites （P3, Pz and P4） and occipital sites （O1 and O2）, while subjects observed real hand motion （real hand motion condition） and illustrative depictions of hand motion （drawn hand motion condition）. Experimental data revealed that mu rhythm suppression was exhibited in the mirror neuron system when subjects observed both real and drawn hand motion. Moreover, the mu rhythm recorded at the F3, Fz, F4, and Pz poles was significantly suppressed while observing both stimulus types, but no obvious mu suppression occurred at the O1, 02 and 03 poles. These results suggest that the observation of drawings of human hand actions can activate the human mirror neuron system. This evidence supports the hypothesis that the mirror neuron system may be involved in intransitively abstract action understanding.

Safe Reinforcement Learning with Dead-Ends Avoidance and Recovery

Safety is one of the main challenges in applying reinforcement learning to realistic environmental tasks. To ensure safety during and after training process, existing methods tend to adopt overly conservative policy to avoid unsafe situations. However, overly conservative policy severely hinders the exploration, and makes the algorithms substantially less rewarding. In this paper, we propose a method to construct a boundary that discriminates safe and unsafe states. The boundary we construct is equivalent to distinguishing dead-end states, indicating the maximum extent to which safe exploration is guaranteed, and thus has minimum limitation on exploration. Similar to Recovery Reinforcement Learning, we utilize a decoupled RL framework to learn two policies, (1) a task policy that only considers improving the task performance, and (2) a recovery policy that maximizes safety. The recovery policy and a corresponding safety critic are pretrained on an offline dataset, in which the safety critic evaluates upper bound of safety in each state as awareness of environmental safety for the agent. During online training, a behavior correction mechanism is adopted, ensuring the agent to interact with the environment using safe actions only. Finally, experiments of continuous control tasks demonstrate that our approach has better task performance with less safety violations than state-of-the-art algorithms. Copyright © 2023, The Authors. Nowadays, the cameras of traffic monitoring systems are mounted toward roads or interactions. The views are fixed and limited. To extend the monitoring area, a novel onboard abnormal event detection system is proposed based on the In Vehicle Monitoring system (IVMS). Videos are captured by the camera mounted in the front of a vehicle. Traffic information extracted by the system is combined with the GPS and electronic map to discover abnormal events. The system can be installed on police vehicles, buses, even private cars. Therefore, the anomaly monitoring can be processed anywhere, instead of on the certain interactions or roads. © 2018, Springer International Publishing AG.

Optimal stopping theory is developed to achieve a good trade-off between decision performance and decision efforts such as the consumed decision time. In this paper, the optimal stopping theory is applied to fast mode decision for multiview video coding in order to reduce the tremendous encoding computational complexity, with the benefit of theoretical decision-making expectation and predictable decision performance. The characteristics of encoding modes in multiview video coding are studied to derive an optimal stopping theory-based model to early terminate mode decision and thus a fast mode decision algorithm is designed. Extensive experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm can save a great amount of encoding time for multiview video coding and meanwhile keep the compression performance more or less intact. © Springer-Verlag 2013.
