This article presents a Symplectic Geometric Mode Decomposition (SGMD) method incorporating K-means clustering, coupled with wavelet denoising, for mitigating noise in Linear Frequency Modulation (LFM) signals. This method substitutes the original component recombination approach in SGMD with the K-means clustering algorithm, thus rendering the signal grouping more logically coherent. In the experiment, we compare the method proposed in this article with other denoising methods. The experimental findings demonstrate substantial advantages of the proposed method in mitigating noise in LFM signals, thereby enhancing both signal-to-Noise Ratio (SNR) and signal quality. The research outcomes underscore the feasibility and substantial potential of this method in mitigating noise in signals. In subsequent studies, additional investigation into its applicability across diverse domains can be pursued alongside the refinement of clustering and denoising algorithms.

In recent years, WSN (Wireless Sensor Network) technology has been developed rapidly, and been widely used in the fields of industry, agriculture, medicine and so on. To solve the low communication rate and short-distance data transmission in the current temperature and humidity monitoring system, this paper designs a temperature and humidity remote monitoring system based on WSN technology. In this system, microprocessor Atmega128L is adopted as the control core of network node, and wireless transceiver module nRF905 is used to realize wireless data transmission. The data of temperature and humidity is sampled by using digital temperature sensor DS18B20 and humidity sensor SHT75 in the system. The proposed network protocol in this paper not only can realize long-rang wireless data transmission, but also can realize self-organizing and manual networking. The results of practical test show that this system has the stable and reliable performance and the advantage of scalability.

In this paper, a technique for the extraction of roads in a high resolution synthetic aperture radar (SAR) image is presented. And a three-step method is developed for the extraction of road network from space borne SAR image: the process of the feature points, road candidate detection and connection. Roads in a high resolution SAR image can be modeled as a homogeneous dark area bounded by two parallel boundaries. Dark areas, which represent the candidate positions for roads, are extracted from the image by a Gaussian probability iteration segmentation. Possible road candidates are further processed using the morphological operators. And the roads are accurately detected by Hough Transform, and the extraction of lines is achieved by searching the peak values in Hough Space. In this process, to detect roads more accurately, post-processing, including noisy dark regions removal and false roads removal is performed. At last, Road candidate connection is carried out hierarchically according to road established models. Finally, the main road network is established from the SAR image successfully. As an example, using the ERS-2SAR image data, automatic detection of main road network in Shanghai Pudong area is presented.

Image matching is the first step in almost any 3D computer vision task, and hence has received extensive attention. In this paper, the problem is addressed from a novel perspective, which is different from the classic stereo matching paradigm. Two images with different resolutions, that is high resolution versus low resolution are matched. Since the high resolution image only corresponds to a small region of the low resolution one, the matching task therefore consists in finding a small region in the low resolution image that can be assigned to the whole high resolution image under the plane similarity transformation, which can be defined by the local area correlation coefficient to match the interest points and rectified by similarity transform. Experiment shows that our matching algorithm can be used for scale changing up to a factor of 6. And it is successful to deal with the point matching between two images under large scale.

Recently, double-negative meta-materials are widely studied in scientific research. The double-negative (DNG) mediums are characterized by simultaneous negative permittivity and permeability. In order to make the FDTD method analyze the electromagnetic scattering and propagation for double-negative (DNG) medium, z-transform is applied to the FDTD method in the double-negative (DNG) medium. For the simulations, extremely large computer memory space and a long computational time b required. A parallel algorithm for the FDTD method on the state of the art graphics hardware is presented. The parallel computing techniques can be used to reduce the computation time significantly and have been widely applied in various complex FDTD applications. In this paper, we simulate the interaction between electromagnetic wave and DNG medium, and describe an impact of new GPU features on development process of an efficient Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) implementation.

Fisher's linear discriminant analysis (FLDA) is one of the most well-known linear subspace selection methods. However, FLDA suffers from the class separation problem. The projection to a subspace tends to merge close class pairs. Recent results show that maximizing the geometric mean or harmonic mean of Kullback-Leibler (KL) divergences of class pairs can significantly reduce this problem. In this paper, to further reduce the class separation problem, the alpha-mean of divergences as a framework is proposed for subspace selection, with arithmetic mean, geometric mean and harmonic mean as special cases. We named it the maximization of the alpha-mean of all pairs of KL divergences (MAMD) criterion. A quasi-Newton method is applied to solve the optimization problem. Experiments on synthetic data and two datasets in UCI machine learning repository show the validity of MAMD. © 2011 IEEE.

Although many methods of refining initialization have appeared, the sensitivity of K-Means to initial centers is still an obstacle in applications. In this paper, we investigate a new class of clustering algorithm, K-Alpha Means (KAM), which is insensitive to the initial centers. With K-Harmonic Means as a special case, KAM dynamically weights data points during iteratively updating centers, which deemphasizes data points that are close to centers while emphasizes data points that are not close to any centers. Through replacing minimum operator in K-Means by alpha-mean operator, KAM significantly improves the clustering performances. © 2010 IEEE.

In many areas of pattern recognition and machine learning, subspace selection is an essential step. Fisher's linear discriminant analysis (LDA) is one of the most well-known linear subspace selection methods. However, LDA suffers from the class separation problem. The projection to a subspace tends to merge close class pairs. A recent result, named maximizing the geometric mean of Kullback-Leibler (KL) divergences of class pairs (MGMD), can significantly reduce the class separation problem. Furthermore, maximizing the harmonic mean of Kullback-Leibler (KL) divergences of class pairs (MHMD) emphasizes smaller divergences more than MGMD, and deals with the class separation problem more effectively. However, in many applications, labeled data are very limited while unlabeled data can be easily obtained. The estimation of divergences of class pairs is unstable using inadequate labeled data. To take advantage of unlabeled data for subspace selection, semi-supervised MHMD (SSMHMD) is proposed using graph Laplacian as normalization. Quasi-Newton method is adopted to solve the optimization problem. Experiments on synthetic data and real image data show the validity of SSMHMD. ©2010 IEEE.

Multi-objective optimization algorithms have demonstrated their effectiveness and efficiency in detecting community structure in complex networks, by which a set of trade-off partitions of networks are obtained instead of a single partition. The large number of partitions lead to a challenging problem for decision makers: how to obtain an ideal partition from the set of trade-off partitions of networks. In this paper, we present two decision-making strategies for obtaining the ideal partition, one is based on the knee points and the other is based on the majority voting. Experimental results on random networks and real-world networks illustrate that the presented two strategies are very competitive for obtaining an ideal partition of networks. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2014.

The PMCHWT equation of the double negative media (DNG) is obtained based on its constitutive relationship. And the surface currents and radar cross section (RCS) at a single frequency point is computed by Method of moments (MOM). The asymptotic waveform evaluation (AWE) technique for dispersive dielectric medium is deduced and apllied to electromagnetic scattering analysis of double-negative medium within a given frequency band.
