Ecosystems are undergoing unprecedented persistent deterioration due to unsustainable anthropogenic human activities,such as overfishing and deforestation,and the effects of such damage on ecological stability are *** recent advances in experimental and theoretical studies on regime shifts and tipping points,theoretical tools for understanding the extinction chain,which is the sequence of species extinctions resulting from overexploitation,are still lacking,especially for large-scale nonlinear networked *** this study,we developed a mathematical tool to predict regime shifts and extinction chains in ecosystems under multiple exploitation situations and verified it in 26 real-world mutualistic networks of various sizes and *** discovered five phases during the exploitation process:safe,partial extinction,bistable,tristable,and collapse,which enabled the optimal design of restoration strategies for degraded or collapsed *** validated our approach using a 20-year dataset from an eelgrass restoration ***,we also found a specific region in the diagram spanning exploitation rates and competition intensities,where exploiting more species helps increase *** computational tool provides insights into harvesting,fishing,exploitation,or deforestation plans while conserving or restoring the biodiversity of mutualistic ecosystems.

Gesture recognition has been widely used in many situations, such as human-computer interaction, virtual reality and smart home. To meet the current demands for accuracy and speed in gesture recognition, this paper proposes an improved algorithm based on YOLOv8, referred to as YOLOv8-GR. By replacing the original YOLOv8 detection head with a Dynamic Head, we integrate scale-aware, spatial-aware, and task-aware attention mechanisms within a unified framework. To enhance context information capture, the SPPF (Spatial Pyramid Pooling - Fast) module is optimized to a modified SPPF-LSKA (Large Separable Kernel Attention) module. In addition, we employ the EIoU loss function for more accurate evaluation of object detection results. To evaluate our algorithm, we integrate a gesture dataset in complex and diverse scenarios through network and field shooting annotations. Compared to the original YOLOv8, the proposed YOLOv8-GR achieves a 22.5% improvement in mAP50 and a 10.0% improvement in mAP50-95 on our dataset. We also compare YOLOv8-GR with the MobileNetv2-based SSD, which is a kind of one-stage object detection algorithm. While maintaining similar recognition accuracy, the computational cost of YOLOv8-GR is 9.9 GFLOPs, which is 15.8% of SSD, and our algorithm can be deployed on Raspberry Pi 4B.

Hybrid intelligence has emerged as an innovative approach that synergistically combines the strengths of human intelligence and artificial intelligence (AI) to address complex problems. In this paradigm, knowledge graphs play a pivotal role by supplying vital background information and contextual understanding to hybrid intelligence systems. However, due to limitations in local storage capacity, managing large-scale graph data often requires outsourcing to cloud servers. Nevertheless, the use of untrusted cloud servers poses a risk of potential user data leaks. To address these concerns, this paper presents an encryption scheme specifically designed to protect graph data, enabling queries involving intermediate nodes in the shortest path between two nodes within the graph. The proposed scheme ensures the privacy and security of outsourced data by employing a novel method that utilizes padding dictionary structure encryption. This method ensures strict limitations on the cloud server's capabilities, restricting it solely to query operations, it effectively prevents any compromise of user data or unauthorized access to sensitive information, users can securely store and process their graph data on servers, significantly reducing the potential risk of data leakage and unauthorized breaches. To validate the feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed solution, practical experiments were conducted using real-world data. © 2023 IEEE.

Graph contrastive learning has gained popularity due to its success in self-supervised graph representation learning. Augmented views in contrastive learning greatly determine the quality of the learned representations. Handcrafted data augmentations in previous work require tedious trial-and- errors per dataset, which is time-consuming and resource-intensive. Here, we propose a Graph Contrastive learning framework with Learnable graph Augmentation called GraphCLA. Specifically, learnable graph augmentation trains augmented views by minimizing the mutual information (MI) between the input graphs and their augmented graphs. This paper designs a kernel contrastive loss function based on an end-to-end differentiable graph kernel to learn augmented views. In addition, this paper utilizes a min-max optimization strategy to learn challenging augmented graphs and to learn discriminative representations adversarially. Finally, we compared GraphCLA with state-of-the-art self-supervised learning baselines and experimentally validate the effectiveness of GraphCLA. © 2023 IEEE.

In the process of large-scale industrial production, complex defects of different shapes and sizes can occur in industrial products and their components, and these defects seriously affect the performance of industrial products and their components, and being able to quickly and accurately identify defective industrial products and their components is an important task. Memory-based methods are usually used for anomaly detection, and these methods often rely on pre-trained models for feature extraction, but have high requirements on feature quality. In addition, patch-based methods mainly focus on local differences in feature embedding when detecting anomalies without explicitly exploiting broader contextual information, thus greatly affecting the robustness and accuracy of anomaly detection. Aiming at the above problems and requirements, this paper proposes a Feature Aggregation Network for Memory-Based Industrial Anomaly Detection (FANet), which is based on the pre-extraction of anomalous features, attentional attention to key features, information aggregation of multi-level and multi-scale features, and the FANet provides advanced performance in industrial image anomaly detection and localisation by pre-extraction of anomalous features, attentional attention to key features, information aggregation of multi-layered and multi-scale features, and introduction of environmental information in the anomaly score computation to perform industrial anomaly detection tasks, and using core set subsampling to reduce storage requirements. On the MVTec AD, FANet has an image-level AUROC score of 99.1% and a pixel-level AUROC score of 98.2%. Similarly high detection results were achieved on the ViSA dataset, further demonstrating the robustness of FANet. © 2024 IEEE.

With the proliferation of data-intensive industrial applications, the collaboration of computing powers among standalone edge servers is vital to provision such services for smart devices. In this paper, we propose an edge-driven industrial computing power network (CPN) by orchestrating the computing and network resources of edge servers through the centralized resource scheduling and decentralized task computing. However, efficient task offloading and collaborative processing is challenging, which requires higher degrees of network automation and intelligence. Therefore, we incorporate digital twins (DTs) into the edge-driven CPN architecture, where the DTs are created as the digital replicas to assist both the computation offloading and collaborative processing. A joint optimization problem of the computing power assignment, service association, task partition, and transmit power control is formulated for maximizing the system average weighted utility. Due to the temporal-spatial variability of tasks and the resulted dynamic environment, we transform the original problem as a Markov decision process aiming at maximizing the long-term average weighted utility. To efficiently handle the high-dimensional discrete-continuous action space, a hybrid soft actor-critic based deep reinforcement learning algorithm is developed for optimizing the joint design. Simulation results validate the superiority of our proposed algorithm over the benchmarks, showing the significant gains obtained by integrating DTs into the edge-driven CPN. © 1967-2012 IEEE.

Given that airborne electronic equipment may have a variety of wiring methods and may encounter a set of systems using multiple power supplies, it is necessary to take some measures on the circuit to ensure the normal work of the power supply and the post-circuit. A portable aviation detection equipment power supply system is designed in this paper. The system supports simultaneous access of two power supplies to identify and judge the input power supply and switch between the battery and the external power supply, effectively avoiding the security risks caused by battery backflow current. The battery power is monitored in real-time through the battery power detection circuit and will be reminded when the battery power is too low. Since the circuit uses a MOS tube to control the switching of the power supply, there is almost no voltage drop loss. In addition, the EMC protection circuit is set up at the power supply side to further improve the safety and reliability of the system. © Published under licence by IOP Publishing Ltd.

This paper explores the fairness of large music models in generating culturally diverse musical compositions, emphasizing the need for inclusivity and equity in AI-generated music. By analyzing popular datasets such as the Million Song Dataset and the Lakh MIDI Dataset, we identify a significant underrepresentation of non-Western musical elements. To address this, we adapt existing models to incorporate non-Western scales, rhythms, and instruments. The adapted models demonstrate a substantial improvement in generating culturally diverse music. Using AI-based synthetic listeners, we evaluate the impact of these adaptations on listener perception and engagement. Results indicate that music from the adapted models scores higher in terms of enjoyment, novelty, cultural resonance, and overall engagement compared to the original models. Our findings highlight the importance of cultural diversity in enhancing the user experience and ensuring ethical AI practices. The study also discusses challenges, such as dataset limitations and model adaptation complexity, and suggests directions for future research to further promote fairness and inclusivity in music AI. This work contributes to the development of more culturally aware and representative music generation systems, aiming to enrich the global musical landscape and foster greater appreciation of diverse musical traditions. © 2024 IEEE.

With the growing popularity of API-driven multiservice application (mashup) development, the burgeoning web APIs have left developers drowning in the sea of web API selections. Matching developers with the most appropriate APIs is the key to improving user satisfaction and promoting more popular web applications. As a result, more and more researchers pay attention to web API recommender systems based on collaborative filtering. However, employing collaborative filtering to recommend APIs is challenging due to the severe sparsity of mashup and API interactions. To address this problem, we propose a probabilistic generative model, called the Binary-API Topic model (BAT), to parameterize mashups and APIs. Technically, BAT is equipped with a mechanism to extract binary-APIs and predict unknown pairwise interactions. To improve generality and capture more relevance from a limited number of interactions, we learn binary-API topics by directly modeling the generation of API co-occurrence patterns across the repository (all mashup collections from ***). The main advantage of BAT is that it preserves API co-occurrence patterns in model learning and exploits the rich global relevance. Finally, through extensive experiments, we demonstrate that BAT can achieve the highest performance on the sparse real-world data set. © 2023 IEEE.

The aim of cross-modal image-text retrieval is to heighten comprehension and to create robust associations between visual and textual content. This process entails a mutual querying and synchronization across various data formats. While conventional techniques have seen enhancements via attention-based approaches, they frequently miss the dynamics between corresponding and non-corresponding entity areas within image-text pairs. These techniques, often fixated on aligning image entities with textual terms, can overlook the congruence of entity characteristics, leading to less accurate localization. This research introduces PNRITR, an innovative strategy for cross-modal retrieval that leverages label learning to discern attributes absent from images, broadening the scope beyond just positive entity areas. PNRITR has delivered notable advancements on the Flickr30K and MS-COCO datasets. © 2024 Knowledge Systems Institute Graduate School. All rights reserved.
