Accidents caused by explosives occur frequently, which seriously threaten people's lives and health, so it is urgent to develop new technologies for sensitively and rapidly detecting trace explosives. In this study, a bioengineered rat with the olfactory receptor (OR3) overexpression in the olfactory epithelium (OE) was successfully developed, and the unique features of three representative explosives (NT, DNT, and TNT) were conducted by recording electrophysiological-responsive signals from the olfactory bulb (OB) with implanted multichannel microelectrodes during awake-state-independent sniffing behavior induced by explosives and non-explosives. These three explosives were regarded as goal odors, while citral and air were no-goal odors. The analysis of local field potential (LFP) power changes revealed that, goal, and no-goals could be distinguished in both the vector group and the OR3 group at concentrations as low as 10-12 mol/L, and the classification performance of the OR3 group was superior to that of the vector group overall. Our findings suggest that OR3 bioengineered rats can reliably and accurately identify trace explosives, which provides a novel approach for detecting and identifying explosives with promising applications in odor discrimination in complex environments. In Non-Geostationary Orbit Satellite networks (NGOSNs) with a large number of battery-carrying satellites, proper power allocation and task scheduling are crucial to improving data offloading efficiency. In this work, we jointly optimize power allocation and task scheduling to achieve energy-efficient data offloading in NGOSNs. Our goal is to properly balance the minimization of the total energy consumption and the maximization of the sum weights of tasks. Due to the tight coupling between power allocation and task scheduling, we first derive the optimal power allocation solution to the joint optimization problem with any given task scheduling policy. We then leverage the conflict graph model to transform the joint optimization problem into an Integer Linear Programming (ILP) problem with any given power allocation strategy. We explore the unique structure of the ILP problem to derive an efficient semidefinite relaxation-based solution. Finally, we utilize the genetic framework to combine the above special solutions as a two-layer solution for the original joint optimization problem. Simulation results demonstrate that our proposed solution can properly balance the reduction of total energy consumption and the improvement of the sum weights of tasks, thus achieving superior system performance over the current literature. © 2004-2012 IEEE.

The seedling stage is important in the growth and development of maize, and it is also a critical period that affects maize yield and quality. Accurately recognizing this stage of maize is challenging, as current maize seedling detection methods struggle with small sizes and complex environments. This paper proposes a rapid maize seedling detection method that emphasizes spatial feature extraction in the receptive field and cross-dimensional interaction - receptive field triplet attention YOLO (RFT-YOLO). First, we design a convolutional module for cross-dimensional information interaction within the receptive field. Second, we introduce an advanced selective fusion network, which boosts the multi-scale fusion capability of small object features while reducing the GFLOPs of the model. Additionally, we employ Inner-IoU to diminish sensitivity to positional biases of small objects and expedite the convergence of the loss function. Finally, we create a dataset of maize seedlings to conduct our experiments. Experimental results demonstrate that the RFT-YOLO significantly enhances performance, reducing the number of parameters by 35.3% and GFLOPs by 14.24%, compared to the baseline model. Moreover, the mean average precision (mAP) improves from 89.6% to 91.5%. These improvements confirm the model's effectiveness in detecting maize seedlings. © 2024 IEEE.

Improved NL2SQL based on Multi-layer Expert Network

The Natural Language to SQL (NL2SQL) technique is used to convert natural language queries into executable SQL statements. Typically, slot-filling is employed as a classification method for multi-task cases to achieve this goal. However, slot-filling can result in inaccurate SQL statement generation due to negative migration issues arising from different classification tasks. To overcome this limitation, this study introduces a new approach called Multi-Layer Expert Generate SQL (MLEG-SQL), which utilizes a dedicated multi-task hierarchical network. The lower layer of the network extracts semantic features of natural language statements, while the upper layer builds a specialized expert system for handling specific classification tasks. This hierarchical approach mitigates performance degradation resulting from different task conflicts. The proposed method was evaluated on the WiKSQL dataset and was found to be effective in generating accurate SQL statements. © 2023, CC BY.

In-band network telemetry (INT) is a new network measurement technology that uses business packet to collect network information hop by hop. Since business packets may be lost due to various reasons, INT telemetry information will inevitably be lost. Unfortunately, telemetry system is not aware of this loss. In this letter, we present FindINT, an INT packet coding scheme with two marking strategies, to measure per-flow packet loss rate and location. Post-hoc explanations are important for people to understand the predictions of explanation models. One class of methods in post-hoc explanation is the generation of counterfactuals, where a hypothetical example is obtained by perturbing the inputs to show how one could obtain a different prediction from the decision model. Counter-factual explanations should satisfy several properties: One is that counterfactuals generated under specific scenarios and constraints should be feasible for users, i.e., they should accommodate different causal constraints. The other is that it is more desirable for users to have a wider variety of viable examples, i.e., counterfactual diversity. To this end, we propose a parallelizable method based on gradient optimization. We partition the input feasible domains, perform counterfactual generation independently for each feasible domain, and then parallelize the counterfactual generation process for each feasible domain. Experimental results show that our approach effectively improves the diversity, sparsity, and proximity of the generated counterfactual instances on the public datasets Adult-Income, Lending-Club, German-Credit, and COMPAS compared to other models. © 2023 IEEE.

As the current mainstream social networking method, online social networking brings convenience to people, but also generates negative problems such as language violence. Therefore, offensive text style transfer research has become an arduous task. Research has shown that the semantic loss is caused by the discreteness and timing of the text data, resulting in a low degree of content retention after style transferring, and the lack of relevant parallel corpus data and specific style tag keywords, therefore, the accuracy of text style transfer is limited. Aiming at the existing problems, this paper proposes an Offensive Text Style Transfer based on the Unsupervised Learning (OTST-UL) model. First, the input text is encoded through the bidirectional encoding attention mechanism to retain the core content of the text. Then the generator-discriminator is applied for adversarial training, and a reconstruction loss algorithm is constructed to ensure the accuracy of the offensive language style transformation and the integrity of the text content. Experimental results show that the OTST-UL model outperforms existing text style transfer models on offensive language datasets. © 2022 SPIE.

Abstract Meaning Representation (AMR) parsing is the task of translating a sentence to an AMR semantic graph which captures the basic meaning of the sentence, and is empowered by pre-trained Transformer models recently. These models encode the syntactic and semantic knowledge implicitly through self-supervised pre-trained tasks. We argue that encoding the syntactic and semantic knowledge explicitly is beneficial to AMR parsing and can improve data efficiency. Specifically, syntactic dependency and semantic role labeling (SRL) have similar sub-structures with AMR. In this work, we propose a novel linguistic knowledge-enhanced AMR parsing model, which augments the pre-trained Transformer with syntactic dependency and semantic role labeling structures of sentences. By applying a heterogeneous graph attention network, we can obtain syntactically and semantically augmented word representation, which can be integrated using an attentive integration layer and gating mechanism. Experimental results show that our model achieves state-of-the-art performance on different benchmarks, especially in out-of-domain and low-resource scenarios.
