Medical Visual Question Answering (Med-VQA) is a sophisticated multimodal technology within the medical domain that utilizes natural language processing and artificial intelligence techniques. It serves as a tool in the medical field to provide information and answers, aiming to correctly respond to medical questions related to specific professional medical images. The primary goal is to assist patients in understanding their physical condition and provide decision support for healthcare professionals. While Generalized Visual Question Answering has seen significant advancements, challenges persist in the medical domain. Firstly, medical data has inherent limitations, such as the scarcity of annotated medical datasets and the complexity of medical images (including factors like noise, artifacts, and low contrast). Secondly, in terms of cross-modal fusion, there exists an intricate relationship between medical images and textual information. The complexity of the relationship between medical images and medical text, as well as the incorporation of global contextual details, pose challenges. To address these issues, this paper proposes the Feature-Enhanced Network with Conditional Mixing. This innovative approach aims to overcome the scarcity and complexity of medical images without the need for additional datasets. Simultaneously, to tackle the challenge of cross-modal fusion and information interaction and to address the complex relationship between medical images and text, we propose the Cross-Adaptive Fusion Network. Experimental results conducted on the VQA-RAD dataset demonstrate noticeable improvements in accuracy compared to mainstream Med-VQA models.

With the rapid development of the new generation of information technologies, including cloud computing, 5G, and the Internet of Things, data outsourcing storage in the cloud has brought great convenience to data storage or access anytime and anywhere. Due to the separation of ownership and management of outsourced stored data, it faces data security risks, including data loss and personal privacy disclosure. The third-party audit of data operational behavior by logs is often employed to strengthen the security of outsourced data. However, some privacy breach incidents in recent years show that third parties who may leak information about data and users’ identities are not always trustworthy. To achieve data security and privacy protection, an operation behavior auditing scheme for outsourced data is proposed with the blockchain rather than third parties. The data operation behavior audit is carried out from three dimensions: integrity of the operation behavior log, the credibility of the operation behavior information, and compliance of operation behavior. The security analysis and experiment results indicate that this scheme is secure and feasible.

SkinFormer: Learning Statistical Texture Representation with Transformer for Skin Lesion Segmentation

Accurate skin lesion segmentation from dermoscopic images is of great importance for skin cancer diagnosis. However, automatic segmentation of melanoma remains a challenging task because it is difficult to incorporate useful texture representations into the learning process. Texture representations are not only related to the local structural information learned by CNN, but also include the global statistical texture information of the input image. In this paper, we propose a transFormer network (SkinFormer) that efficiently extracts and fuses statistical texture representation for Skin lesion segmentation. Specifically, to quantify the statistical texture of input features, a Kurtosis-guided Statistical Counting Operator is designed. We propose Statistical Texture Fusion Transformer and Statistical Texture Enhance Transformer with the help of Kurtosis-guided Statistical Counting Operator by utilizing the transformer’s global attention mechanism. The former fuses structural texture information and statistical texture information, and the latter enhances the statistical texture of multi-scale features. Extensive experiments on three publicly available skin lesion datasets validate that our SkinFormer outperforms other SOAT methods, and our method achieves 93.2% Dice score on ISIC 2018. Complementary to Multiple Labels: A Correlation-Aware Correction Approach

Complementary label learning (CLL) requires annotators to give irrelevant labels instead of relevant labels for instances. Currently, CLL has shown its promising performance on multi-class data by estimating a transition matrix. However, current multi-class CLL techniques cannot work well on multi-labeled data since they assume each instance is associated with one label while each multi-labeled instance is relevant to multiple labels. Here, we show theoretically how the estimated transition matrix in multi-class CLL could be distorted in multi-labeled cases as they ignore co-existing relevant labels. Moreover, theoretical findings reveal that calculating a transition matrix from label correlations in multi-labeled CLL (ML-CLL) needs multi-labeled data, while this is unavailable for ML-CLL. To solve this issue, we propose a two-step method to estimate the transition matrix from candidate labels. Specifically, we first estimate an initial transition matrix by decomposing the multi-label problem into a series of binary classification problems, then the initial transition matrix is corrected by label correlations to enforce the addition of relationships among labels. We further show that the proposal is classifier-consistent, and additionally introduce an MSE-based regularizer to alleviate the tendency of BCE loss overfitting to noises. Existing indoor visible light positioning methods, such as those based on fingerprint database algorithms, are complex to construct and consume significant resources. In response to this issue, the text proposes an end-to-end indoor visible light positioning method that samples continuous signals at a small number of random coordinate positions in indoor environments. Through a deep learning method based on attention mechanism, a nonlinear mapping between the received signal and spatial position coordinates is constructed, and the time series properties in the received signal are encoded as a feature in the data. The method is further improved by combining residual networks to improve accuracy. Through simulation experiments, it has been verified that the deep learning based localization method described in this article can achieve sub meter level accuracy on small sample datasets, and it has been proven that time series features have a significant impact on localization accuracy in indoor visible light positioning algorithms based on deep learning.

Source camera identification method is crucial in digital image forensics for determining the authentic source of an image. In this paper, we propose a new source camera identification method by combining the intrinsic features of the camera with a carefully designed tag. Our method establishes a hybrid fingerprint model involving two parameters as the unique camera fingerprints of a digital image. Utilizing hypothesis testing theory, we develop a generalized likelihood ratio test (GLRT) to identify the source camera of digital images. Finally, we provide numerical results to validate the performance of the proposed method and demonstrate its effectiveness in identifying source camera devices.

Multi-dimensional classification (MDC) deals with the problem where each instance is associated with multiple class variables, each of which corresponds to a specific class space. One of the mainstream solutions for MDC is to adapt traditional machine learning techniques to deal with MDC data. In this paper, a first attempt towards adapting instance-based techniques for MDC is investigated, and a new approach named Md-knn is proposed. Specifically, Md-knn identifies unseen instance's k nearest neighbors and obtains its corresponding kNN counting statistics for each class space, based on which maximum a posteriori (MAP) inference is made for each pair of class spaces. After that, the class label w.r.t. each class space is determined by synergizing predictions from the learned classifiers via consulting empirical kNN accuracy. Comparative studies over ten benchmark data sets clearly validate Md-knn's effectiveness.

In this paper, an active intelligent reflecting surface (IRS) assisted secure integrated sensing and simultaneous wireless information and power transfer system is proposed with the power splitting (PS) model adopted. Aiming to maximize the harvested power while satisfying the constraints of the integrated sidelobe level ratio and secrecy rate, an optimization problem is formulated to jointly determine the appropriate transmit beamforming, artificial noise (AN) vectors, PS ratios, as well as the amplification factors and phase shifts of the active IRS, which is non-convex and intractable. To overcome this challenge, we leverage semidefinite programming to transform it into a convex counterpart, and propose an alternating optimization algorithm to obtain a solution for the original problem. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme compared to benchmarks.

PPBFL: A Privacy Protected Blockchain-based Federated Learning Model

With the rapid development of machine learning and a growing concern for data privacy, federated learning has become a focal point of attention. However, attacks on model parameters and a lack of incentive mechanisms hinder the effectiveness of federated learning. Therefore, we propose A Privacy Protected Blockchain-based Federated Learning Model (PPBFL) to enhance the security of federated learning and encourage active participation of nodes in model training. Blockchain technology ensures the integrity of model parameters stored in the InterPlanetary File System (IPFS), providing protection against tampering. Within the blockchain, we introduce a Proof of Training Work (PoTW) consensus algorithm tailored for federated learning, aiming to incentive training nodes. This algorithm rewards nodes with greater computational power, promoting increased participation and effort in the federated learning process. A novel adaptive differential privacy algorithm is simultaneously applied to local and global models. This safeguards the privacy of local data at training clients, preventing malicious nodes from launching inference attacks. Additionally, it enhances the security of the global model, preventing potential security degradation resulting from the combination of numerous local models. The possibility of security degradation is derived from the composition theorem. By introducing reverse noise in the global model, a zero-bias estimate of differential privacy noise between local and global models is achieved. Furthermore, we propose a new mix transactions mechanism utilizing ring signature technology to better protect the identity privacy of local training clients. Security analysis and experimental results demonstrate that PPBFL, compared to baseline methods, not only exhibits superior model performance but also achieves higher security. Large scale artificial intelligence (AI) models possess excellent capabilities in semantic representation and understanding, making them particularly well-suited for semantic encoding and decoding. However, the substantial scale of these AI models imposes unacceptable computational resources and communication delays. To address this issue, we propose a semantic communication scheme based on robust knowledge distillation (RKD-SC) for large scale model enabled semantic communications. In the considered system, a transmitter extracts the features of the source image for robust transmission and accurate image classification at the receiver. To effectively utilize the superior capability of large scale model while make the cost affordable, we first transfer knowledge from a large scale model to a smaller scale model to serve as the semantic encoder. Then, to enhance the robustness of the system against channel noise, we propose a channel-aware autoencoder (CAA) based on the Transformer architecture. Experimental results show that the encoder of proposed RKD-SC system can achieve over 93.3% of the performance of a large scale model while compressing 96.67% number of parameters.
