Laser writing is a fast and efficient technology that can produce graphene with a high surface area,whereas laser-induced graphene(LIG)has been widely used in both physics and chemical device *** is necessary to update this important progress because it may provide a clue to consider the current challenges and possible future *** this review,the basic principles of LIG fabrication are first briefly described for a detailed understanding of the lasing ***-sequently,we summarize the physical device applications of LIGs and describe their advantages,including flexible electronics and energy ***,chemical device applications are categorized into chemical sensors,supercapacitors,batteries,and electrocatalysis,and a detailed interpretation is ***,we present our vision of future developments and challenges in this exciting research field.

Space-to-ground infrared camouflage with radiative heat dissipation

With the development of space exploration and exploitation,it is imperative to address the potential threats posed to space objects,particularly ground-based infrared ***,in the extreme space environment,achieving infrared camouflage across different bands with simultaneous thermal management is challenging and has so far slipped out of ***,we propose the space-to-ground infrared camouflage strategy,compatible with radiative heat *** in the H,K,mid-wave-infrared(MWIR),and long-wave-infrared(LWIR)bands is achieved through a multilayer structure,with radiative heat dissipation in the very-long-wave-infrared(VLWIR)*** absorptivity(0.839/0.633)in the H/K bands minimizes the reflected signal of solar radiation and low emissivity(0.132/0.142)in the MWIR/LWIR bands suppresses the thermal radiation ***,high emissivity(0.798)in the VLWIR band ensures efficient thermal management,resulting in a temperature decrement of 39.8 ℃ to the metal reference in the simulated space environment(with 1200Wm-2 thermal input).This work inspires sophisticated spectral manipulation in extreme environments and guides the development of camouflage and radiative heat dissipation techniques for space objects.

Soft pneumatic actuators(SPAs)have attracted enormous attention in the growing field of *** different SPAs,composite reinforced actuators(CRAs)are widely used because of their simple structure and high ***,multistep molding,a time-consuming method,is still the predominant fabrication ***,we propose a multimaterial embedded printing method(ME3P)to fabricate *** comparison with other 3-dimensional printing methods,our method improves fabrication flexibility *** the design and fabrication of the reinforced composites’patterns and different geometries of the soft body,we demonstrate actuators with programmable responses(elongation,contraction,twisting,bending,and helical and omnidirectional bending).Finite element analysis is employed for the prediction of pneumatic responses and the inverse design of actuators based on specific actuation ***,we use tube-crawling robots as a model system to demonstrate our ability to fabricate complex soft robots for practical *** work demonstrates the versatility of ME3P for the future manufacturing of CRA-based soft robots.

In-situ construction of high-mechanical-strength and fast-ion-conductivity interphase for anode-free Li battery

The solid electrolyte interphase(SEI)with strong mechanical strength and high ion conductivity is highly desired for Li metal batteries,especially for harsh anode-free ***,we report a pragmatic approach to the in-situ construction of high-quality SEI by applying synergistic additives of Li NO_(3)and ethylene sulfite(ES)in the *** obtained SEI exhibits a high average Young’s modulus(9.02GPa)and exchanging current density(4.59 mA cm^(-2)),which are 3.0 and 1.2 times as large as those using the sole additive of LiNO_(3),*** this improved SEI,Li-dendrite growth and side reactions are effectively suppressed,leading to an ultra-high Coulombic efficiency(CE)of 99.7%for Li plating and *** applying this improved electrolyte in full cells,it achieves a high capacity retention of 89.7%for over 150 cycles in a LiFePO_(4)||Li battery(~12 mg cm^(-2)cathode,50μm Li)and of 44.5%over 100 cycles in a LiFePO_(4)||Cu anode-free battery.

High-Temperature Stealth Across Multi-Infrared and microwave Bands with Efficient Radiative Thermal Management

High-temperature stealth is vital for enhancing the concealment,survivability,and longevity of critical ***,achieving stealth across multiple infrared bands—particularly in the short-wave infrared(SWIR)band—along with microwave stealth and efficient thermal management at high temperatures,remains a significant ***,we propose a strategy that integrates an IR-selective emitter(Mo/Si multilayer films)and a microwave metasurface(TiB2–Al2O3–TiB2)to enable multi-infrared band stealth,encompassing mid-wave infrared(MWIR),long-wave infrared(LWIR),and SWIR bands,and microwave(X-band)stealth at 700℃,with simultaneous radiative cooling in non-atmospheric window(5–8μm).At 700℃,the device exhibits low emissivity of 0.38/0.44/0.60 in the MWIR/LWIR/SWIR bands,reflection loss below−3 dB in the X-band(9.6–12 GHz),and high emissivity of 0.82 in 5–8μm range—corresponding to a cooling power of 9.57 kW m^(−2).Moreover,under an input power of 17.3 kW m^(−2)—equivalent to the aerodynamic heating at Mach 2.2—the device demonstrates a temperature reduction of 72.4℃ compared to a conventional low-emissivity molybdenum surface at high *** work provides comprehensive guidance on high-temperature stealth design,with far-reaching implications for multispectral information processing and thermal management in extreme high-temperature environments.

Ionogels have garnered great attention as promising soft conducting materials for the fabrication of flexible energy storage devices,soft actuators,and ***,the leakage of the ionic liquids,weak mechanical strength,and poor manufacturability have greatly limited their reliability and ***,we propose a new ionogel synthesis strategy by utilizing granular zwitterionic microparticles to stabilize ionic *** ionic liquids swell the microparticles and physically crosslink microparticles via either electronic interaction or hydrogen *** introducing a photocurable acrylic monomer enables the fabrication of double-network(dN)ionogels with high stretchability(>600%)and ultrahigh toughness(fracture energy>10 kJ/m^(2)).The synthesized ionogels exhibit a wide working temperature of−60 to 90℃.By tuning the crosslinking density of microparticles and physical crosslinking strength of ionogels,we synthesize dN ionogel inks and print them into three-dimensional(3d)*** ionogelbased ionotronics are 3d printed as demonstrations,including strain gauges,humidity sensors,and ionic skins made of capacitive touch sensor *** covalently linking ionogels with silicone elastomers,we integrate the ionogel sensors onto pneumatic soft actuators and demonstrate their capacities in sensing large *** our last demonstration,multimaterial direct ink writing is harnessed to fabricate highly stretchable and durable alternating-current electroluminescent devices with arbitrary *** printable granular ionogel ink represents a versatile platform for the future manufacturing of ionotronics.

Curvature-controlled band alignment transition in 1d van der Waals heterostructures

The effect of curvature on the band alignment of one-dimensional (1d) van der Waals (vdW) transition metal dichalcogenide(TMdC) heterostructures is studied by comprehensive first-principles calculations. We find that, as the diameter of a TMdCnanotube decreases, the combined effect of curvature-induced flexoelectricity and circumferential tensile strain causes a rapidlowering of the conduction band minimum, whereas the valence band maximum exhibits an initial lowering before rising. Asindividual TMdC nanotubes form coaxial heterostructures, the concerted effect of diameter-dependent band-edge levels andintertube coupling via flexovoltage can result in a transition of intertube band alignment from Type II to Type I in multipleheterostructural systems, including large-diameter MoSe_(2)@WS_(2), MoTe_(2)@MoSe_(2), and MoTe_(2)@WS_(2) heterostructures. These results laydown a foundation for the rational design of 1d vdW heterostructures.

Night-time radiative warming using the atmosphere

Night-time warming is vital for human production and daily *** methods like active heaters are energy-intensive,while passive insulating films possess restrictions regarding space consumption and the lack of heat *** this work,a nanophotonic-based night-time warming strategy that passively inhibits thermal radiation of objects while actively harnessing that of atmosphere is *** using a photonic-engineered thin film that exhibits high reflectivity(~0.91)in the atmospheric transparent band(8-14μm)and high absorptivity(~0.7)in the atmospheric radiative band(5-8 and 14-16μm),temperature rise of 2.1℃/4.4℃compared to typical low-e film and broadband absorber is ***,net heat loss as low as 9Wm-2 is experimentally observed,compared to 16 and 39Wm-2 for low-e film and broadband absorber,*** strategy suggests an innovative way for sustainable warming,thus contributes to addressing the challenges of climate change and promoting global carbon neutrality.
