To solve dynamic optimization problem of chemical process (CPDOP), a hybrid differential evolution algorithm, which is integrated with Alopex and named as Alopex-DE, was proposed. In Alopex-DE, each original individual has its own symbiotic individual, which consists of control parameters. Differential evolution operator is applied for the original individuals to search the global optimization solution. Alopex algorithm is used to co-evolve the symbiotic individuals during the original individual evolution and enhance the fitness of the original individuals. Thus, control parameters are self-adaptively adjusted by Alopex to obtain the real-time optimum values for the original population. To illustrate the whole performance of Alopex-DE, several varietal DEs were applied to optimize 13 benchmark functions. The results show that the whole performance of Alopex-DE is the best. Further, Alopex-DE was applied to solve 4 typical CPDOPs, and the effect of the discrete time degree on the optimization solution was analyzed. The satisfactory result is obtained.

In this paper, a linear unbiased minimum-variance filtering problem is considered for a class of systems with randomly multi-step sensor delays. A new mathematical model is established for the multi-step sensor delays. Different from the augmented method for dealing with delayed systems, a linear unbiased minimum-variance filter design method is proposed without augmenting the state vector, which effectively reduces the filter dimensions. A recursive algorithm for calculating the filter gain matrix is developed. The simulation results illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

This paper deals with H ∞ controller design problem for event-triggered networked control systems (NCSs), where the next task release time and finishing time are predicted based on the sampled states. A new model of NCSs that involves the network conditions, state and event-triggered communication strategy is proposed. Based on this model, some novel criteria for the asymptotic stability analysis and H ∞ state feedback controller design of the event-triggered NCSs with time-varying delay are established to guarantee a prescribed H ∞ disturbance rejection attenuation level. Finally, a numerical example is provided to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Most of the existed methods for steady-state visual evoked potential (SSVEP) recognition require a specified time window length (TWL) to estimate the dominant frequency components in EEG signals. Typically, the TWL is manually predetermined and then fixed during running of the SSVEP-based brain-computer interface (BCI), which may not give the optimal information transfer rate (ITR). This study proposes an adaptive strategy and integrates it into multivariate synchronization index for SSVEP recognition with the automatically determined TWL. The optimal TWL is adaptively selected according to the estimated synchronization index, which provides the relatively higher ITR for the SSVEP recognition than a fixed TWL does. Experimental results evaluated on nine healthy subjects demonstrated effectiveness of the proposed adaptive strategy for the TWL in SSVEP-based BCI.

Welding robots application can greatly enhance the production efficiency. And effective welding robot path planning is important for improving the efficiency of welding robot. Due to its simplicity, high search accuracy and fast convergence rate, the particle swarm optimization (PSO) algorithm was used to study welding robot in this paper. A novel hybrid discrete PSO algorithm (HDPSO) was proposed to improve the basic discrete PSO after the light ray optimization, genetic algorithm and chaos optimization strategies were combined first. Then, the HDPSO was used to solve 3-dimensional welding path planning problem. Besides, a welding robot path planning simulation system was designed to realize user friendly path planning, and its practicality was verified by performance test.
