The Pallet Grouping Problem (PGP) is defined as minimizing the number of pallets for placing all materials in a collection and distribution center. A key to solving the PGP is to tackle the Pallet Loading Problem (PLP). The Pallet Loading Problem aims to maximize the number of identical rectangular boxes placed within a rectangular pallet. All boxes have identical rectangular dimensions and, when placed, must be located completely within the pallet. In this paper, a novel pallet grouping technology is proposed and a new learning algorithm, namely Learning Only from Excellence, (LOE) is presented for solving the pallet loading problem. Simulation results show that compared with the conventional Genetic Algorithm (AG) for two pallet loading problems with different scales, the new learning algorithm is proved to be more efficiently. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2014.

In this paper, consensus of multi-agent systems containing linear self dynamics is investigated. By considering packet losses, a sampled data protocol with packet losses is considered. A switched systems including stable modes and unstable modes is considered here to describe packet losses. By using the contradiction method and the Lyapunov function method, a sufficient condition on consensus of the multi-agent system under consideration is obtained, where the controller can be solved in the form of convex optimization approaches. In addition, the maximum sampling interval is also given.

Data based intelligent fault diagnosis method is an important tool for ensuring the stability of industrial process. However, in the actual industrial process, due to the difficulty of feature extraction and the lack of labeled fault data, it is hard to form a fault diagnosis model with good performance. To address this problem, the Self-Attention embedded Generative Adversarial Networks combined with the Residual Network(SAGAN-ResNet) is proposed in this study. Firstly, to handle the lack of the fault data, the data enhancement method which consists of Self-Attention embedded generator and discriminator is adopted. Then, to extract the feature for better diagnosis performance, based on the augmented training dataset, Residual Network (ResNet) is introduced. Finally, the proposed method is compared with others, the results show that proposed method has advantages in the case of complex process fault diagnosis with few shot industrial data. © 2022, The Authors. Lag Quasi-Synchronization of Coupled Delayed Systems With Parameter Mismatch

This paper is concerned with lag synchronization of two coupled delayed systems with parameter mismatch. Due to parameter mismatch, complete lag synchronization can not be achieved. Therefore, a new lag quasi-synchronization scheme is proposed to ensure that coupled systems are in a state of lag synchronization with an error level. Several simple criteria are derived and the error level is estimated by applying a generalized Halanary inequality and matrix measure. Three examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed lag quasi-synchronization scheme. It is shown that as the coupling strength increases, the estimated error level is close to the simulated one, which well supports theoretical results.

For the upcoming China Ⅵ gasoline standard with much more strictly controlled properties, and high requirements for blending efficiency, a blending process and coordinated optimization algorithm for blending multiple brands of gasoline at the same time were developed. Octane number model, vapor pressure model, density model, distillation range model and content attribute model were established. The calculation process of octane number model and distillation range model have been improved, and 12 quality indicators of gasoline can be precisely monitored during the blending process. Considering the actual accumulative blending process, the properties of gasoline in the tank during the blending process should be converted into instantaneous properties zone at the blending head. The optimized properties of the blending head are used to compensate the properties deviation of the amount of blending and the tank bottom oil. Meanwhile, a reasonable and efficient coordination optimization algorithm is used to coordinate the upper limit of the common component oil, which solves the problem of scramble for the common component oil flow in the double blending head in the blending process. The simulation results show that the design method can be applied to the gasoline blending of double head in the field, and can also provide technical support for the upgrading of gasoline blending process under the China Ⅵ gasoline standard. © 2019, Editorial Office of Acta Petrolei Sinica(Petroleum Processing Section). Stiction Quantification based on Time and Frequency Domain Criterions ∗

Valve stiction is one of the most common causes for poor performance in industrial control loops. Therefore, a non-invasive method which can detect and quantify stiction is urgently needed in the process industry. Most of the current stiction estimation methods use time domain criterion, e.g. Mean Square Error, to jointly identify the stiction and process model parameters. However, stiction induced oscillation is a phenomenon which has some specific characteristics in the frequency domain. Thus, extracting frequency domain information in the routine operation data will provide a more reliable and accurate stiction estimation. In this work, under the framework of Hammerstein model identification and global optimization, a new stiction quantification method based on time and frequency domain criterions is proposed. Several simulation case studies are demonstrated to validate the proposed method.

Classification of four-class motor imagery EEG based on CSP-HMM

In this paper, a new classification method based on common spatial pattern (CSP) and hidden markov model(HMM)is presented to classify the EEG of four-class motor imagery. 4 s data of motor imagery is selected and four 2 s sub-data sets are obtained by sliding time window with 0.5 s step size. CSP is used to extract features from the four sub-data sets respectively. Features from each class are used to train one HMM. Four different HMMs are obtained corresponding with the four classes. Test data are measured by the four HMMs and classified based on the maximum likelihood obtained from the four HMMs. The results show that HMM yields better performance than Bayesian linear discriminant analysis.

Microgrid is an advanced application of distributed renewable energy utilization. With the development of energy Internet technology, microgrid is characterized by strong decentralization and high intelligence. The operation optimization of microgrid requires higher individual autonomy and rational ability, and the traditional centralized optimization is difficult to meet this development trend. In this paper, in order to better reflect the high autonomy of microgrid energy management, a distributed optimization based on potential game is proposed by comprehensively considering multiple independent individuals in the microgrid. Under this strategy, each individual makes decisions with the goal of maximizing their own profits, and completes the iterative solution of the strategy through communication with each other. Finally, a simulation example of islanded microgrid is used to verify the results, which shows that the individual autonomy and intelligence of the microgrid were improved, and the feasibility and effectiveness of the strategy are verified.

External analysis and moving window LoOP based monitoring for a class of multi-mode timevarying process

Moving window local outlier probability U+0028 MWLoOP U+0029 is an outlier detecting method which was proposed for monitoring time-varying industrial processes;however, for the practical industrial processes, besides the timevarying characters caused by deactivation of catalyst, measuring instrument drifting and so on, the operation mode is often switched as the adjusting of the feedstock, changes in market demands and so on. Although the MWLoOP algorithm can deal with the time-varying process data, the multi-mode process data will lead to a mass of false alarm. To solve this problem, an external analysis moving window local outlier probability U+0028 EA-MWLoOP U+0029 algorithm is proposed in this study. The external analysis is employed to eliminate the influence of operation mode change on the process data, then the MWLoOP method can deal with complex distribution time-varying data, and give an outlier probability. Finally, the corresponding statistic and control limit are constructed to detect the process fault. In addition, while the monitoring model is being updated, the control limit is not necessary to update. The performance of this method is evaluated through a case study of a non-isothermal continuous stirred tank reactor U+0028 CSTR U+0029. IEEE

Attribute reduction based on ant colony algorithm for optimization of minimal reductions

Attribute reduction is an important topic of the rough set theory and it's a NP-hard problem to find a minimal reduction. Due to the advantage of ant colony algorithm in solving combinatorial optimization problems, this paper treats attribute reduction as a combinatorial optimization problem, and combines the rough set theory with ant colony algorithm to search the minimal reduction. In accordance with the problems in obtaining many minimal reduction sets of the same length, the paper takes the dependence degree of decision attributes on the non-core attributes to measure the solutions and selects the reduction set which has the maximum dependence degree, so as to find the optimal solution. Experimental results verify the validity of the presented algorithm.
