To meet the requirements of electromagnetic(EM)theory and applied physics,this study presents an overview of the state-of-the-art research on obtaining the EM properties of media and points out potential solutions that can break through the bottlenecks of current ***,based on the survey of three mainstream approaches for acquiring EM properties of media,we identify the difficulties when implementing them in realistic *** a focus on addressing these problems and challenges,we propose a novel paradigm for obtaining the EM properties of multi-type media in realistic ***,within this paradigm,we describe the implementation approach of the key technology,namely“multipath extraction using heterogeneous wave propagation data in multi-spectrum cases”.Finally,the latest measurement and simulation results show that the EM properties of multi-type media in realistic environments can be precisely and efficiently acquired by the methodology proposed in this study.

This paper explores the innovation of teaching mode of image processing and machine vision courses under project orientation. Traditional image processing courses always lack a proper practical application, leading to some difficulties for students to understand the theoretical knowledge and apply the course content. Therefore, in order to better develop students' abilities in various aspects, this study takes the intelligent diagnosis of lung nodules as an example, and organically combines the theoretical knowledge in the textbook with the practical application in the project. In this paper we firstly discuss the content and importance of the image Processing and Machine Vision course, and review its research progress in related fields. Then we describe the design and implementation of the innovative model, and demonstrate the actual teaching effect under the new model through case studies. The final results show that this project-oriented teaching mode enhances students' learning interest, innovative thinking, practical and teamwork ability, which provides an important reference value for undergraduate talent cultivation. © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s). Rsta: A Reversible Signal Transmission Architecture for Breaking the Limitation of Unidirectional Transmission

Molecular circuits are essential tools for biosensing and molecular information processing. However, the long-distance and reversible transmission of orthogonal signals remains a significant challenge in molecular circuits, preventing molecular signals from achieving reversible transmission similar to that of electrical signals in wires. To overcome the limitations of unidirectional signal transmission and facilitate the integration of antagonistic circuits. We propose a reversible signal transmission architecture (RSTA) with wire-like characteristics to achieve reversible signal transmission based on fundamental molecular devices known as reversible signal fan-out devices (RSFDs). The polarity of the input signal dictates the transmission direction, establishing the initial condition for the output signals. Cascaded RSFDs within RSTA offer two key advantages. First, the temporal response to signals. Second, the reversible transformation of opposite circuit types without structural modification. We experimentally validated the principles and functionality of RSTA using temporal logic device and integrated molecular circuits. This work advances the field of reversible molecular signal transmission, enabling the rational design of complex molecular circuits and molecular information processing systems. We envision applications of this technology in nanomachines, molecular computing, and biosensing. © 2025, The Authors. All rights reserved.

Neurite Orientation Dispersion and Density Imaging (NODDI) is an important imaging technology used to evaluate the microstructure of brain tissue, which is of great significance for the discovery and treatment of various neurological diseases. Current deep learning-based methods perform parameter estimation through diffusion magnetic resonance imaging (dMRI) with a small number of diffusion gradients. These methods speed up parameter estimation and improve accuracy. However, the diffusion directions used by most existing deep learning models during testing needs to be strictly consistent with the diffusion directions during training. This results in poor generalization and robustness of deep learning models in dMRI parameter estimation. In this work, we first verify that the parameter estimation performance of current mainstream methods will significantly decrease when the testing diffusion directions and the training diffusion directions are inconsistent. A robust NODDI parameter estimation method with adaptive sampling under continuous representation (RobNODDI) is proposed. Furthermore, long short-term memory (LSTM) units and fully connected layers are selected to learn continuous representation signals. To this end, we use a total of 100 subjects to conduct experiments based on the Human Connectome Project (HCP) dataset, of which 60 are used for training, 20 are used for validation, and 20 are used for testing. The test results indicate that RobNODDI improves the generalization performance and robustness of the deep learning model, enhancing the stability and flexibility of deep learning NODDI parameter estimatimation applications. © The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.

The inherent complexity of Wi-Fi signals makes video-aided Wi-Fi 3D pose estimation difficult. The challenges include the limited generalizability of the task across diverse environments, its significant signal heterogeneity, and its inadequate ability to analyze local and geometric information. To overcome these challenges, we introduce WiViPose, a video-aided Wi-Fi framework for 3D pose estimation, which attains enhanced cross-environment generalization through cross-layer optimization. Bilinear temporal-spectral fusion (BTSF) is initially used to fuse the time-domain and frequency-domain features derived from Wi-Fi. Video features are derived from a multiresolution convolutional pose machine and enhanced by local self-attention. Cross-modality data fusion is facilitated through an attention-based transformer, with the process further refined under a supervisory mechanism. WiViPose demonstrates effectiveness by achieving an average percentage of correct keypoints (PCK)@50 of 91.01% across three typical indoor environments. © 2025 IEEE.

Taking underwater robots project as an example, this paper discusses the innovation of the teaching mode of engineering drawing courses under the guidance of a project. The traditional engineering drawing course often lacks the link of practice and project application, which leads to the lack of students’ understanding and application ability of the course content. Therefore, this study proposes a teaching mode based on project guidance. By using underwater robots as teaching cases, theoretical knowledge and practical application are combined to promote the cultivation of students’ comprehensive abilities. This paper first reviews the research progress in related fields, then introduces the design and implementation methods of the teaching mode in detail, and analyzes the actual effect of the model through the underwater robot case. The results show that the teaching mode of engineering drawing courses under the guidance of the project has a positive impact on students’ learning interest, practical ability and teamwork ability. The results of this study will provide practical and feasible solutions for the innovation of the teaching mode of engineering drawing courses, and also provide a reference for the reform of undergraduate teaching mode in the construction of "New Engineering Education". © 2024 Copyright held by the owner/author(s).

While promising results have been achieved in weakly-supervised semantic segmentation (WSSS), limited supervision from image-level tags inevitably induces discriminative reliance and spurious relations between target classes and background regions. Thus, Class Activation Map (CAM) usually tends to activate discriminative object regions and falsely includes lots of class-related backgrounds. Without pixel-level supervisions, it could be very difficult to enlarge the foreground activation and suppress those false activation of background regions. In this paper, we propose a novel framework of Cross Language Image Matching with Automatic Context Discovery (CLIMS++), based on the recently introduced Contrastive Language-Image Pre-training (CLIP) model, for WSSS. The core idea of our framework is to introduce natural language supervision to activate more complete object regions and suppress class-related background regions in CAM. In particular, we design object, background region, and text label matching losses to guide the model to excite more reasonable object regions of each category. In addition, we propose to automatically find spurious relations between foreground categories and backgrounds, through which a background suppression loss is designed to suppress the activation of class-related backgrounds. The above designs enable the proposed CLIMS++ to generate a more complete and compact activation map for the target objects. Extensive experiments on PASCAL VOC 2012 and MS COCO 2014 datasets show that our CLIMS++ significantly outperforms the previous state-of-the-art methods. © The Author(s), under exclusive licence to Springer Science+Business Media, LLC, part of Springer Nature 2025.

A new teaching model of teaching-innovation-competition is presented and a wisdom course based on this model is developed for mechatronics engineering majors, mainly to deal with several existing problems such as limited experimentation and lack of innovative inspiration in Chinese universities. This study elaborates the course objectives and structure of curriculum system, including digitalized teaching content, project-driven teaching means, innovation platform, web-based resource support, team competition and diversified evaluation method. Through a teaching case study within mechatronic engineering major, the teaching mechanism and achievements are demonstrated. The study results indicate that the proposed teaching mode based on the virtual teaching and research section, significantly improves students' innovation ability and the teaching effects, compared to traditional teaching methods. Deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) has become an ideal medium for long-term storage and retrieval due to its extremely high storage density and long-term stability. But access efficiency is an existing bottleneck in DNA storage, especially the lack of high-quality random access address sequences. Therefore, in this paper, we report a series of approaches based on k-weakly mutually uncorrelated (k-WMU) codes to design the address sequence to improve the access efficiency of DNA storage. To address the problem of DNA sequences that are poorly scalable at the base level, we propose a 0-m-ruling coding scheme combined with k-WMU codes that can make address sequences avoid generating secondary structure with stem lengths ranging from 3 to 9. Based on the decoupled structure, We further extend the k-WMU codes with error correction function while satisfying combinatorial biological constraints. In order to investigate the performance of the designed address sequences for real-world applications, we perform simulation experiments based on thermodynamic properties and error correction capability as well as compared the minimum free energy (MFE), melting temperature (TM), and average decoding success rate (ADSR) with previous work. The results show that designed address sequences have a high MFE value and ADSR and a substantial reduction in TM-variance while satisfying the combinatorial biological constraints. As the quality of address sequences improves, this will help to achieve accurate random access as well as enhance the robustness of the DNA storage system. © 2002-2011 IEEE.

A Stable RTK/MEMS-IMU Tightly-Coupled Algorithm under Differential Corrections Outage

The GNSS-RTK and MEMS-IMU integrated navigation system is a commonly used high-precision, low-cost solution for outdoor positioning. However, the significant measurement error of MEMS-IMU can rapidly lead to divergence in navigation state predictions based on inertial error propagation models. To overcome this limitation and enhance accuracy, maintaining the continuity of RTK measurement information is crucial. Nevertheless, due to the instability of wireless transmission links and communication equipment, or disruptions in base station observations, differential corrections often experience outages, resulting in a decline in measurement information quality and affecting the accuracy of integrated navigation. Therefore, this paper proposes a stable RTK/MEMS-IMU tightly coupled algorithm. During outages of differential corrections, the proposed algorithm utilizes historical differential corrections from the base station along with real-time rover station information to construct a stable double-difference carrier phase vector. This approach ensures the stability of measurement information and enhances positioning accuracy. Simulation results have verified the effectiveness of this method, and land tests have demonstrated that, compared to the traditional RTK/MEMS-IMU tightly coupled algorithm, the position and velocity accuracy of this algorithm during outages of differential corrections have been improved by 29.5% and 18.4%, respectively. © 1967-2012 IEEE.
