Aiming at the problem that reprojection error (RE) cannot reflect the camera calibration accuracy intuitively, this paper proposes a method to verify the camera calibration results in world coordinate system. Firstly, the checkerboard calibration target is photographed with the camera under test, and the internal parameters and distortion parameters of the camera are calculated by using the pinhole model and the Kannala-Brandt (KB) fisheye model, respectively. Then, the same camera is used to shoot two targets in the field of view (FOV), and the pixel coordinates of the two target points are detected from the image. Thirdly, the inverse projection model is used to calculate the distance between the two objects and the angle between the camera and the two objects, and the real distance and angle are compared. The experimental results show that the average distance errors of the pinhole model and the KB fisheye model are 0.34% and 0.35%, respectively, and the angle errors are 0.40% and 0.12%, respectively, which proves that the verification method can effectively characterize the calibration accuracy of the camera.

Graph convolutional networks (GCNs) have been attracting widespread attentions due to their encouraging performance and powerful generalizations. However, few work provide a general view to interpret various GCNs and guide GCNs’ designs. In this paper, by revisiting the original GCN, we induce an interpretable regularizer-centerd optimization framework, in which by building appropriate regularizers we can interpret most GCNs, such as APPNP, JKNet, DAGNN, and GNN-LF/HF. Further, under the proposed framework, we devise a dual-regularizer graph convolutional network (dubbed tsGCN) to capture topological and semantic structures from graph data. Since the derived learning rule for tsGCN contains an inverse of a large matrix and thus is time-consuming, we leverage the Woodbury matrix identity and low-rank approximation tricks to successfully decrease the high computational complexity of computing infinite-order graph convolutions. A wideband high isolation circularly polarized antenna for 5G MIMO millimeter-wave systems is presented in this paper. The presented antenna exhibits wideband characteristics due to the resonance of surface waves along the metasurface. The circularly polarized preliminary bandwidth is achieved by truncated corner patches when the truncation can be adjusted to implement the phase and amplitude values of the two quadrature modes. The port isolation is improved by the resonance of double-layer microstrip lines in the frequency. The size of the antenna is 17.8×17.8×1.02 mm 3 , the impedance bandwidth is 30.4% (23.29-31.66 GHz) and the 3-dB axial ratio bandwidth is 20.5% (24.47-30.12 GHz). In addition, the port isolation of the presented antenna is higher than 25 dB, and the peak gain is 8.4 dB. Therefore, the given antenna has the advantages of wideband, circularly polarized and high isolation.

With the rapid development of Internet of Things (IoT) and 5G, mobile edge computing is gaining popularity for its low computation latency, bandwidth costs and energy consumption. In mobile edge computing, the placement of edge servers is one of the most significant problems and attracts worldwide attention. However, two major problems of edge server placement: high access delay and unbalanced workload of edge servers, have not been completely solved yet. To better solve these two problems, this paper proposes a new Spectral-Clustering-based Edge Server Placement (SCESP) algorithm, which can effectively reduce the access delay and make the workload of each edge server more balanced. In the evaluation, we use the Shanghai Telecom’s base station dataset to test the performance of SCESP and extensive experiments demonstrate the superior performance of SCESP in reducing the access delay and balancing the edge server workload. © 2022, The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG.

Knowledge distillation (KD) has recently gained great success in the field of object detection. By transferring the knowledge of the spatial or channel domain from the teacher model to the student model, it allows for a more compact representation with minimal performance loss. Despite this progress, existing KD methods typically treat knowledge from spatial or channel domains independently, ignoring the exploitation of the mutual relationship between these domains. In this work, we first explore the connection between spatial and channel domains and find there exists a strong correlation between them, i.e. the salient channels tend to contain significant object regions in the spatial domain. Motivated by this observation, we propose DCSF-KD, a novel Dynamic Channel-wise Spatial Feature Knowledge Distillation framework for object detection by fully exploiting both spatial and channel knowledge. Specifically, we introduce channel-wise spatial feature distillation and global channel attention distillation, using information from both domains to improve the accuracy of the student network. Experiments demonstrate that our DCSF-KD outperforms existing detection methods on both homogeneous and heterogeneous teacher-student network pairs. For example, when using the MaskRCNN-Swin detector as the teacher, and based on RetinaNet and FCOS with ResNet-50 on MS COCO, our DCSF-KD can achieve 41.9% and 44.1% mAP, respectively. © 2025, Association for the Advancement of Artificial Intelligence (***). This paper is dedicated to the numerical solution of a fourth-order singular perturbation problem using the interior penalty virtual element method (IPVEM) proposed in [42]. The study introduces modifications to the jumps and averages in the penalty term, as well as presents an automated mesh-dependent selection of the penalty parameter. Drawing inspiration from the modified Morley finite element methods, we leverage the conforming interpolation technique to handle the lower part of the bilinear form. Through our analysis, we establish optimal convergence in the energy norm and provide a rigorous proof of uniform convergence concerning the perturbation parameter in the lowest-order case. © 2023, CC BY-NC-ND.

Incomplete multi-view clustering (IMVC) is a emerging research topic. Although several attempts to solve IMVC have been proposed, they suffered from the following problems: (1) Most existing methods usually solve the dimensional collapse problem by adding additional projection heads, whereby the latent features are only effective in low-dimensional subspaces. However this approach will increase the complexity of the model. (2) Most existing methods typically use consistent learning and reconstruction learning on the same feature, which can result in irrelevant private information affecting the learning of the common representation. In this paper, a novel incomplete multi-view clustering framework based on direct contrastive learning is proposed to solve the above problems. Specifically, our method prevents dimensionality collapse without adding additional projection heads by utilizing sub-vectors of learned feature vectors for consistency learning. Furthermore, this framework reduces the adverse effects of inconsistent and useless private information by performing reconstruction loss and contrastive loss on the feature vector and its sub-vectors respectively. To handle incomplete data, a cross-view prediction mechanism is adopted to recover missing information. Extensive experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method and obtain significant performance improvements on public datasets.

Generating molecular graphs is crucial in drug design and discovery but remains challenging due to the complex interdependencies between nodes and edges. While diffusion models have demonstrated their potentiality in molecular graph design, they often suffer from unstable training and inefficient sampling. To enhance generation performance and training stability, we propose GGFlow, a discrete flow matching generative model incorporating optimal transport for molecular graphs and it incorporates an edge-augmented graph transformer to enable the direct communications among chemical bounds. Additionally, GGFlow introduces a novel goal-guided generation framework to control the generative trajectory of our model, aiming to design novel molecular structures with the desired properties. GGFlow demonstrates superior performance on both unconditional and conditional molecule generation tasks, outperforming existing baselines and underscoring its effectiveness and potential for wider application. © 2024, CC BY.

Recently, topic-grounded dialogue system has attracted significant attention due to its effectiveness in predicting the next topic to yield better responses via the historical context and given topic sequence. However, almost all existing topic prediction solutions focus on only the current conversation and corresponding topic sequence to predict the next conversation topic, without exploiting other topic-guided conversations which may contain relevant topic-transitions to current conversation. To address the problem, in this paper we propose a novel approach, named Sequential Global Topic Attention (SGTA) to exploit topic transition over all conversations in a subtle way for better modeling post-to-response topic-transition and guiding the response generation to the current conversation. Specifically, we introduce a latent space modeled as a Multivariate Skew-Normal distribution with hybrid kernel functions to flexibly integrate the global-level information with sequence-level information, and predict the topic based on the distribution sampling results. We also leverage a topic-aware prior-posterior approach for secondary selection of predicted topics, which is utilized to optimize the response generation task. Extensive experiments demonstrate that our model outperforms competitive baselines on prediction and generation tasks. Copyright © 2022, The Authors. All rights reserved.
