By employing the perturbative QCD (PQCD) factorization approach, we calculated the branching ratios, CP-violating asymmetries, the longitudinal and transverse polarization fractions and other physical observables of the thirteen charmless hadronic B¯s0 → V V decays with the inclusion of all currently known next-to-leading order (NLO) contributions. We focused on the examination of the effects of all those currently known NLO contributions and found that: (a) for the measured decays B¯s0 → φφ, K∗0φ, K¯ ∗0K∗0 and ρ0φ, the NLO contributions can provide ∼ 20% to ∼ 40% enhancements to the leading order (LO) PQCD predictions of their CP-averaged branching ratios, and consequently the agreement between the PQCD predictions and the measured values are improved effectively after the inclusion of the NLO contributions;(b) for the measured decays, the NLO corrections to the LO PQCD predictions for (fL, f) and (φk, φ) are generally small in size, but the weak penguin annihilation contributions play an important role in understanding the data about their decay rates, fL and f;(c) the NLO PQCD predictions for above mentioned physical observables do agree with the measured ones and the theoretical predictions from the QCDF, SCET and FAT approaches;(d) for other considered Bs0 → V V decays, the NLO PQCD predictions for their decay rates and other physical observables are also basically consistent with the theoretical predictions from other popular approaches, future precision measurements could help us to test or examine these predictions. We study the nonequilibrium effects of spin and/or electric currents on the helical indirect exchange interactions of local spins that embedded in general open electronic systems. Especially, besides the synthesized anisotropic Heisenberg interactions, we find that the synthetic helical indirect exchange interactions possess two parts: antisymmetric (Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya interaction) and symmetric (Kaplan-Shekhtman-Entin-WohlmanAharony interaction), which are all formulated in terms of Keldysh nonequilibrium Green's functions. The presence of either spin-orbit coupling or spin polarized currents alone is able to synthesize and control the antisymmetric Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya exchange interactions, as the same direction as spin splitting. However, the appearance of symmetric Kaplan-Shekhtman-Entin-Wohlman-Aharony interactions requires both, i.e., the spin-orbit coupling and spin polarized currents with different splitting directions. Our results show the detailed scheme of controlling the sign, magnitude, and direction of indirect Dzyaloshinskii-Moriya vectors and Kaplan-Shekhtman-Entin-Wohlman-Aharony interactions at nonequilibrium in open quantum devices. City traffic often exhibits regional characteristics, such as large trucks frequently appearing in the suburbs, and the paths to playgrounds on weekends generally being congested. Discovering and visualizing these hidden traffic regions inside which roads share similar characteristics of traffic conditions simplifies the modeling complexities of whole city traffic conditions and therefore contributes significantly toward city planning. Unfortunately, such traffic regions always have irregular shapes and are time varying, which makes their discovery extremely complicated. In addition, establishing a method to visualize and explore the traffic regions interactively still remains challenging. In this article, the authors propose a latent Dirichlet allocation (LDA)-based approach to the discovery of underlying traffic regions (or region topics) from vehicle trajectories captured by surveillance devices installed along roadsides. They treat vehicle trajectories as documents and the values of different traffic features, such as locations, directions, speeds and vehicle types, as the corresponding words. After applying the LDA model, they obtain a list of region topics with combined feature values, in which the different feature values are clustered with probabilistic assignments. Meanwhile, they build a prototype system to explore the surveillance-device-based vehicle trajectories according to the discovered region topics. The prototype system, which consists of map view, cloud view, treemap view and matrix-table view, visualizes the feature values of hidden traffic regions. The authors finally research a real case based on the traffic data in Wenzhou City, a large city in eastern China with a population of more than nine million. They investigate approximately 157 surveillance devices and 750,000 moving vehicles. The case demonstrates the effectiveness of both their proposed approach and the prototype system. © 2016 Society for Imaging Science and Technology.

Update summarization can be a daunting task in automatic text summarization. It aims to distill evolved messages from a collection of new articles, under the assumption that the reader has already browsed the previous articles. In this paper, a number of state-of-the-art approaches were reviewed for extracting update summarization and then a method called DPC-TS was proposed. This approach is derived from the DPC-based multi-documents summarization method, which was developed in 2015. In our study, a model was established by using the topic signature algorithm, to evaluate the novelty of sentences in update documents set. In addition, the scheme of calculating similarities between sentences and sentence selection approach was improved to ensure there are diversity topics in the summary. DPC-TS update documents summarization method is a simple and effective approach, which can be reproduced and deployed in real environment. © 2016 IEEE.

Two-body strong decay status of the ρ and ρ3 mesons

In this work, we study the masses and the two-body strong decay of the ρ and ρ3 states below 2 GeV in the framework of the chiral quark model and the P03 models. In the calculations, the wave functions of the particles are obtained numerically by the Gaussian expansion method, and they are applied in the decay calculation. By comparing the results with experimental data, we are trying to identify the exotic states. And it will be helpful to study the structures of ρ/ρ3 states.

The structure of pentaquarks Ω0c in the chiral quark model

Recently, the experimental results of LHCb Collaboration suggested the existence of five new excited states of Ω0c, Ωc(3000)0, Ωc(3050)0, Ωc(3066)0, Ωc(3090)0 and Ωc(3119)0, the quantum numbers of these new particles are not determined now. To understand the nature of the states, a dynamical calculation of 5-quark systems with quantum numbers IJP = 0(21)−, 0(32)− and 0(52)− is performed in the framework of chiral quark model with the help of gaussian expansion method. The results show the ΞD¯, ΞcK¯ and Ξ∗cK¯ are possible the candidates of these new particles. The distances between quark pairs suggest that the nature of pentaquark states. Rho-pion transition form factors in the kT factorization formulism revisited

We revisit the evaluations for the spacelike and timelike ρπ transition form factors Fρπ(Q2) and Gρπ(Q2) with the inclusion of the the next-to-leading order (NLO) QCD contributions in the framework of the kT factorization theorem. The infrared divergence is regularized by the transversal momentum carried by external valence quarks, and ultimately absorbed into the meson wave functions. In the region of Q2 6 2 GeV2, where PQCD factorization apporach applicable, the NLO contribution can bring no larger than 35% enhancement to the spacelike form factor Fρπ(Q2). For the timelike form factor derived under the kinematic exchanging symmetry, this contribution is also under control when the momentum transfer squared is large enough. We also prolong our prediction into the small Q2 region by taking the Lattice QCD results into account, and subsequently obtain the coupling gρπγ = Gρπ(0) = 0.596. Copyright © 2018, The Authors. Current cloud data centers are fully virtualized for service consolidations and power/energy reduction. Although virtualization could reduce real time power and overall energy consumption, the energy characteristics of hypervisors hosting different workloads are not well profiled and understood. In this paper, we investigate the power and energy characteristics of mainstream hypervisors and container engine, i.e., VMware ESXi, Microsoft Hyper-V, KVM, XenServer and Docker, on five different platforms (two mainstream 2U rack servers, one emerging ARM64 server, one desktop server, and one laptop) with hundreds of hours' power measures. We use both computing intensive and mixed web server-database workloads to explore the power and energy characteristics of different hypervisors. Extensive experiment results of four workload levels (very light, light, fair, and very heavy workload) demonstrate that hypervisors expose different power and energy characteristics. We find that: (1) Hypervisors expose different power and energy consumption on the same hardware running same workloads. (2) Although mainstream hypervisors have different energy efficiencies aligned with different workload types and workload levels, there is no single hypervisor that outperforms all other hypervisors on all platforms in terms of power or energy consumptions. (3) Although container virtualization is considered as light-weight virtualization in terms of implementation and maintenance, it is not essentially more power efficient than traditional virtualization technology. (4) ARM64 server does have lower power consumption, but they finish computing jobs with longer execution time and sometimes consume more energy. And ARM64 servers has medium energy consumption per database operations for mixed workloads. The results presented in this paper provide useful insights to system designers, as well as data center operators for power-aware workload placement and virtual machine scheduling. © 2016 IEEE.
