In this paper, we consider an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), which serves multiple legitimate ground users with frequency division multiple access (FDMA) approach in the presence of a potential eavesdropper (EV) with uncertain location information. We also assume that UAV must also avoid flying over the no-fly-zone (NFZ). We aim to maximize the secrecy energy efficiency (SEE) by the robust joint design of the rotary-wing UAV three dimensional (3D) trajectory, bandwidth allocation, and transmit power. However, the optimization problem becomes challenging to solve optimally due to the non-convexity of the problem and the imperfect location information of the EV. We develop an efficient iterative algorithm to obtain its high-quality suboptimal solution. The numerical results indicate that our proposed joint optimization algorithm outperforms the benchmark schemes, resulting in significant enhancement of the energy efficiency of the system. © 2023 IEEE.

Effectively reconstructing 3D hyperspectral images (HSIs) from 2D measurements presents a significant challenge in Coded Aperture Snapshot Spectral Imaging (CASSI) systems. While recent transformers exhibit potential in HSI reconstruction, they often suffer from inadequate exploration of multi-scale spatial-spectral self-similarity, leading to mean effects and information loss. Additionally, these methods struggle with insufficient modeling of the degradation inherent in the compressive imaging process. To address these issues, we propose a novel Mask-guided Multi-scale Spatial-Spectral Transformer (MMSST). Specifically, we introduce a Degradation Aware Mask Attention (DAMA) module to incorporate degradation information of the compressive imaging process. Furthermore, MMSST leverages Local-Regional SpAtial attention (LRSA) and Global-Regional SpEctral attention (GRSE) to effectively exploit multi-scale self-similarity across spatial and spectral dimensions. Extensive experimental results demonstrate the effectiveness of our MMSST.

With serverless computing offering more efficient and cost-effective application deployment, the diversity of serverless platforms presents challenges to users, including platform lock-in and costly migration. Moreover, due to the black box nature of function computing, traditional performance benchmarking methods are not applicable, necessitating new studies. This article presents a detailed comparison of six major public cloud function computing platforms and introduces a benchmarking framework for function computing performance. This framework aims to help users make comprehensive comparisons and select the most suitable platform for their specific needs. © 2023 IEEE.

Contagion dynamics on adaptive multiplex networks with awareness-dependent rewiring

Kernel-Based Regularized Continuous-Time System Identification from Sampled data

The identification of continuous-time (CT) systems from discrete-time (DT) input and output signals, i.e., the sampled data, has received considerable attention for half a century. The state-of-the-art methods are parametric methods and thus subject to the typical issues of parametric methods. In the last decade, a major advance in system identification is the so-called kernel-based regularization method (KRM), which is free of the issues of parametric methods. It is interesting to test the potential of KRM on CT system identification. However, very few results have been reported, mainly because the estimators of KRM have no closed forms for general CT input signals, except for some very special cases. In this paper, we show for KRM that the estimators have closed forms when the DT input signal has the typical intersample behavior, i.e., zero-order hold or band-limited, and this paves the way for the application of KRM for CT system identification. Numerical simulations show that the proposed method is more robust than the state-of-the-art methods and more accurate when the sample size is small. © 2024, CC BY.

The millimeter-wave (mmWave) communication technology, which employs large-scale antenna arrays, enables inherent sensing capabilities. Simultaneous localization and mapping (SLAM) can utilize channel multipath angle estimates to realize integrated sensing and communication design in 6G communication systems. However, existing works have ignored the significant overhead required by the mmWave beam management when implementing SLAM with angle estimates. This study proposes a joint beam management and SLAM design that utilizes the strong coupling between the radio map and channel multipath for simultaneous beam management, localization, and mapping. In this approach, we first propose a hierarchical sweeping and sensing service design. The path angles are estimated in the hierarchical sweeping, enabling angle-based SLAM with the aid of an inertial measurement unit (IMU) to realize sensing service. Then, feature-aided tracking is proposed that utilizes prior angle information generated from the radio map and IMU. Finally, a switching module is introduced to enable flexible switching between hierarchical sweeping and feature-aided tracking. Spatial-temporal structure functions in Burgers turbulence driven by an Ornstein-Uhlenbeck process

We explore the spatial-temporal structure functions of Burgers turbulence driven by a temporal Ornstein-Uhlenbeck (OU) process, where the characteristic time scale of the OU process is much larger than that of the energy flux across spatial scales. Based on the Kármán-Howarth-Monin equation and the temporal scale separation, we postulate an expression for the third-order spatial-temporal structure function away from the dissipation scale. This expression combines Kolmogorov's exact result of spatial structure function and the exponential temporal decay of the external force. We numerically justify this expression and find that the high-order structure functions also decay exponentially; however, the dependence of decay rates on order is different for the odd- and even-order structure functions. Comparing the OU-driven Burgers turbulence with that driven by temporal white noise, their spatial structure functions are identical when the energy injection rates are the same, which justifies Kolmogorov's theory, but these two systems' temporal structure functions differ. Also, the velocity probability density function in the OU-driven Burgers turbulence shows a bimodal distribution, contradicting the near-Gaussian distribution in white-noise-driven turbulence. Even though we lack a rigorous and general deviation of the dependence of the third-order structure function on the temporal statistics of the driving force, our results imply that one can obtain forcing temporal statistics using measured temporal data. However, inferring energy flux across spatial scales solely based on temporal information seems impossible.

Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) is rapidly driving a new phase of artificial intelligence revolution, marked by various applications such as ChatGPT, Sora and DeepSeek. With powerful capabilities in content generation, personalization and user interaction, GenAI can drive significant enhancements in various mobile services to satisfy individual user preferences. Meanwhile, mobile services offer substantial support for accessibility, functionality and intelligence of GenAI applications. However, current research on integrating GenAI and mobile services remains nascent, lacking necessary theoretical and technical support. In this survey, we break down a new vision to guide research on integrating GenAI and mobile services, aiming to improve 6G intelligence levels and enable 6G mobile networks to support the integration of GenAI and mobile services effectively. We begin by examining the necessity of integrating GenAI with 6G mobile services and exploring potential learning architectures of GenAI models within mobile networks. Next, we analyze potential solutions from two perspectives: how 6G mobile networks empower GenAI and how GenAI enables mobile services. We subsequently explore a promising use case, along with essential features and techniques, to facilitate the integration of GenAI and mobile services. Finally, we discuss future research directions, aiming at realizing intelligent 6G networks. © 2015 IEEE.
